The vehicle loss drive power in the middle of driving several times back to back, a red wrench and a message saying to service hybrid system warning appeared. Purchased used in September 2025, had open recall fixed and later recall fixed after in early 2026.

I am reporting a systemic safety failure involving a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee sold as a "certified pre-owned" (cpo) vehicle. Despite the mandatory 125-point cpo safety inspection, the vehicle was delivered with multiple safety-critical defects that should have prevented certification. Primary safety risks: suspension/stability: the vehicle exhibits vibration and instability at all speeds, resulting in a loss of steering stability and difficulty maintaining lane position at highway speed. Tire integrity: the vehicle was sold with dry-rotted tires, indicating structural degradation that poses a high risk of catastrophic failure/blowout. Electrical/powertrain: the auto start/stop system is faulty. Additionally, the paddle shifters are non-functional, which interferes with manual gear selection and driver control over the powertrain. The selling dealership has refused to acknowledge these defects or bring the vehicle into compliance with manufacturer safety standards. Furthermore, stellantis corporate has failed to provide a safety compliance review. These mechanical and electrical defects existed at the time of sale and represent a failure of the cpo safety process.

Unknown what actually occurs but the entire car shuts off while driving. It has happened to me twice in traffic. Once no warnings, the second time the tire pressure sensor fault flashed went away and then the entire car just shut down while I was driving. I had my child with me and was a scary moment could’ve cause a serious accident or potential death. Car was stuck in the road for over 30min before I could get it to restart and move to a safer location.

I was driving on the highway when all of a sudden my gas pedal stopped propelling the car and the engine seemed to be off. I looked at the dash board and saw that the car was indicating it was off and that I needed to step on the brake and hit the ignition button to turn it back on. I barely had control of the car but was able to pull off to the side of the road. I then had to wait several minutes for the car to respond and turn back on. This has happened in the past to me with this car but this is the first time I knew I could report it here. This is a terrible vehicle and I’ve had nothing but safety issues with it since I leased it.

Vehicle previously brought to dealership for recall and reported issue where vehicle abruptly stops/brakes without cause. Dealer did not resolve. On 3/16/26 vehicle came to a complete stop in roadway, shifted into park, and could not be moved into drive, neutral, or reverse. Driver was stranded in a dangerous situation with infant in vehicle. Dealer unable to inspect for weeks and refused loaner. This presents a serious safety hazard.

High voltage battery (hybrid battery) has excessive drain when parked. This was noticed after completing the 68c recall. In any temperature it drains 8-12% over 12 hours. I noticed it happening when it was 65-75 degrees, so not hot and not cold. I brought it in for a repair once, it spent 3 weeks at the dealership and was claimed fixed but it's still doing it. It is known problem on the forums as well after the 68c recall. No warning lights.

On February 28, 2026, while preparing to leave our home with our two children in the vehicle, we experienced a critical vehicle malfunction. Upon attempting to start the car, all dashboard warning lights illuminated, including transmission error, “service needed,” and “automatic emergency braking system needs service. ” the battery warning light was also on. The vehicle would not start initially. After eventually starting the car, we temporarily placed it in neutral and pushed it out of the garage, during which the brakes functioned normally. The vehicle was briefly driven and appeared operational, but due to ongoing safety concerns and multiple recalls, we parked it at the top of our driveway. On the following day, the vehicle would not start again. We arranged for it to be towed to the dealership. On March 2, 2026, when the tow truck arrived, the car’s position prevented loading onto the truck. Multiple jump-start attempts failed initially, then briefly started the vehicle, but it immediately shut off again. We placed the vehicle in neutral using the manual override and tested the brakes, which initially showed stiffness but were operational. While attempting to move the vehicle to allow tow truck access, the brakes suddenly failed. Despite pressing the brake pedal fully and brake lights being illuminated, the vehicle did not stop and rolled uncontrollably into our garage. Consequences: •garage property damage: approximately $11,000 •personal injury: my father-in-law fell while the vehicle rolled out of control •vehicle remains at dealership with an open case, but the situation remains unresolved safety concern: this incident raises serious safety concerns regarding the reliability of the braking system and vehicle electronics. The vehicle became uncontrollable while brakes were applied, posing a direct risk of injury or death to occupants and others. We fear that similar failures could occur under normal driving conditions, including highway speeds.

Since I first leased my vehicle in may of 2023, I have received over 7 safety recalls. At least 2 of which are related to the main battery of the hybrid power system. Ever since I got the first one, I was recommended to park my car outside my house for risk of fire while parked. The latest recall, which has not been resolved involved the battery again and after taking the car to the dealer, the battery did not pass the test and the dealer requested I leave the car with them and advised this will take about a month to correct if they can correct it at all.

The contact was informed that the battery failure was covered under warranty, which was extended. The insurance company was notified of the failure, but informed the contact that the battery was not covered by the policy. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a loss of drive power four to six months before the failure, which she related to NHTSA campaign number: 25v576000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was informed of the failure, and two cases were filed. The manufacturer issued a letter instructing the dealer to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.

The head unit sometimes refuses to work, meaning the backup camera does not work. The problems have been there since day 1, but now I have a good video of an incident. This is a massive plug in hybrid vehicle, so losing my backup camera puts pedestrians at risk. This is a mandatory safety feature to protect children behind the vehicle. I tried the screens power button as well as putting the vehicle in park then reverse but it never switched on the backup camera.

I turned the vehicle on and put it in reverse. The check engine light came on and it would not exceed 2mph. I hoped it was a short error but when switching to drive it also would not exceed 2mph. I immediately parked it and called a tow truck. Upon the tow arrival the vehicle would not longer change gears and showed both a check engine light and a service charging system warning. The emergency release to change the vehicle from park to neutral had to be used. It was pulled onto the tow truck and has been 6 days at the dealer with no remedy. The dealer escalated to stellantis for additional assistance in possible repair options.

I am filing this complaint regarding my 2023 Jeep wagoneer, which I have owned for approximately 1. 5 years. Since purchasing the vehicle, I have experienced repeated and ongoing mechanical failures, primarily involving the fuel injection system and chronic battery drainage. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership for fuel?related issues more than five times. During these visits, the fuel pump was replaced, but the problems continued. The vehicle repeatedly triggered check?engine lights related to the fuel system. At one point, the dealership bypassed or cleared the check?engine indicator without resolving the underlying problem. After this, the vehicle began performing noticeably differently, including a significant drop in fuel efficiency—going from approximately 18 mpg to around 14 mpg. In addition to the fuel system defects, the vehicle has had persistent battery issues. The battery drains unexpectedly and frequently dies without warning. Even after replacing the battery, the new battery lasted only about three months before the same drainage problems began again. The vehicle will randomly shut down or stop functioning correctly until another battery replacement is performed. These issues raise serious concerns about the safety, reliability, and overall drivability of the vehicle. The repeated failures of both the fuel system and electrical/battery system pose potential safety hazards while driving and have made the vehicle unreliable for normal use. I am requesting that NHTSA review these recurring problems, as they appear to indicate systemic defects affecting vehicle performance and safety.

Waited for of a month from the time I called for service for Jeep to address recall high-voltage battery fire risk NHTSA campaign: 25v741 / manufacturer recall 68c upon leaving the service department at salerno & duane Jeep the issue was unresolved. Service tech was expecting the customer to pay for an added oil change due to the recall which should be the responiblity of Jeep.

A vehicle safety recall was issued however, there is no solution readily available. After I was finally able to schedule an appointment to have the recall addressed I was told the hv battery needed to be replaced but there was no timeline to complete the repair. This delay is primarily due to a lack of parts and a larger than expected number of issues with this vehicle type.

Battery failure upon diagnostic at dealer per recall 68c. I had no issues with the car prior to bringing it into the dealer for the recall. The car has now been at dealer for over 11weeks. Neither dealership nor stellantis is providing update on eta for when battery will be ready and recall addressed.

My 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee has been out of service at a dealership since January 22 due to a safety recall involving the high-voltage battery. The manufacturer has no repair available and no estimated timeline. I have no access to my vehicle and have been forced to pay for rental cars out of pocket, with only partial reimbursement. The vehicle has now been out of service for over 50 days. I am requesting assistance with a buyback or full resolution of this.

Event 2 – complete stall / electrical blackout at highway speed date: January 21, 2026location: interstate 19, arizona while traveling at highway speed, the vehicle experienced sudden and complete loss of propulsion. Engine power shut off while in motion. Instrument cluster and electrical systems went fully black. Vehicle would not restart. Power steering response was minimal. Brake response was significantly reduced. • hazard lights were inoperative shortly after the stall and remained in complete blackout. The loss of propulsion and electrical systems occurred in active highway traffic, creating multiple immediate exposure hazard. A manufacturer-directed tow was initiated following the event. Post stall service following the Jan 6 event service records reflect replacement of the hybrid battery following shutdown and low voltage findings. It further states they performed safety recalls and software updates that did not address the issues. The dealer was notified immediately, and they disengaged. Subsequent dealership communication indicated refusal to continue diagnostic or warranty involvement. The loss of propulsion and electrical systems occurred in active highway traffic, creating multiple immediate exposure hazard. A manufacturer-directed tow was initiated following the event. Safety concern primary concerns include: unexpected propulsion loss at highway speed. Total electrical system breakdown causing a red turtle event during motion. Reduced braking and steering control during stall. Non restart condition in traffic. Video captures moment severe abnormal tire wear potentially indicating suspension instability.

Our Jeep has a nation wide battery recall (2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe) and we brought it in to be fixed. They said that it will take 6 weeks - months (they dont know) when the updated battery will be ready. They are saying we need to rent our own car as we wait, and we shouldn't take it home to drive because it's too unsafe and a liability. We have spent hours on the phone with Chrysler, Jeep, etc. To address this and they keep just bouncing us around or hanging up on us. In addition, we received a notice from Chrysler a few weeks ago that asked to ensure we had updated our deductibles and coverage specific to fire. It is clear that they are trying to cover their end of the liability of this massive safety recall that needs to be addressed. The dangers of driving our children in this car, along with the lack of trying to help resolve this issue is unacceptable and an example of corporate malfeasance.

There were no warning or check engine lights prior to the incidents below. Car was just serviced Nov 3rd 2025 for safety recall 25v-472 and 25v-576. 1st incident Dec 21, 2025: driving 70mph on major busy interstate in MA and all of a sudden vehicle lost all power. It shut off completely. No lights, no warning. Had to coast over to r shoulder and wait several min before power restored. This was very scary as traffic was heavy. 2nd incident occurred Jan 19, 2026 and was terrifying: I was driving on a curvy mountain 2 lane road at night. This road does not have much lighting. There are no shoulders or pull over lanes due to guardrails. Out of nowhere with no warning. Vehicle lost all power (including steering and all lights). Could not get out of road as everything shut off and steering locked. I had no lights (both internal and external) I finally got flashers to work after a minute or so but had to sit there dead in the middle of the road on a curve praying no cars came around curve. Was able to restart after about a minute and a half! called dealership today and they said there is no recall for “loss of power” and we will be taking it in for a $200 diagnostics test.

The heat does not work in my Jeep on electric or hybrid and it’s a coolant system failure. The parts fail and Jeep hasn’t been able to fix the problem after two attempts in service. It is frigid and the temperatures have plummeted and there is no heat working in the vehicle. The check engine light has come on indicating that there is an issue and the dealer resets it, but heat not fixed. Yes, a warning light has come on indicating heat does not work in electric mode.

Since shortly after taking delivery of my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, I have repeatedly experienced intermittent safety-related malfunctions involving sudden steering stiffness and braking intervention. From early in ownership, the vehicle would unexpectedly engage what I later learned is the automatic emergency braking (aeb) system. During these events, the steering would feel locked or restricted and the brakes would apply without driver input. In order to restore normal operation, I was required to pull over, turn the vehicle off, and restart it. These concerns were reported multiple times to the dealership over the course of ownership. On January 13, 2026, while traveling at approximately 60 mph on the highway in normal traffic conditions, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion without warning. At that time, the instrument cluster displayed a “hybrid / electric mode unavailable” message along with a wrench indicator light. The vehicle immediately began losing power and was unable to maintain highway speed. As the vehicle slowed unexpectedly in active traffic, two tractor-trailers were approaching from behind. The sudden loss of propulsion created an immediate risk of a rear-end collision. The driver was forced to maneuver across lanes while the vehicle was losing power in order to reach the shoulder safely. The loss of propulsion and warning messages occurred simultaneously. The vehicle was towed to the authorized dealership, where it remains. The dealership has indicated they have been unable to duplicate the failure. These recurring electrical, braking, steering, and hybrid propulsion malfunctions present serious safety concerns, particularly when occurring at highway speeds or in traffic. Due to severe weather conditions, the vehicle was not towed until January 29, 2026. The vehicle was removed from service following the incident and subsequently transported to the authorized dealership, where it remains.

The heater on our 4 x e stopped working and would not defrost front window or heat the car in sub zero weather we have been having lately. I have had this car in 2 times already for the same issue. I fear for my wife's safety while driving this car as it can not defrost the front window due to heat not working. I have an apt on 2/16/2026 for a computer dump and fear another $370 bill for something that appears can not be fixed. I re-booted the computer as it recommended on the internet, but it only worked a small time. I have 3 Grand Cherokees and am very disappointed with this one as the other 2 have over 280,000 miles on them. Regretfully, [xxx] [xxx] . For the second winter (2 out of 2) this vehicle has entered form mode - fuel oil refresh - and fails to operate as a hybrid car until- if last year was the indicator - spring and warmer weather. Ostensibly due to running in electric mode for too long, form is an engine and fuel safety measure. Since this vehicle was under recall 68c until earlier this week and had not been operable in electric mode at all since September, this excuse fails demonstrably. It has been in form since the recall was completed. Having a Jeep in winter that is not operable in electric mode in snow and ice when the potential exists that gas mode doesn't function and the 24 "reserve" miles are not available in electric mode, poses a significant risk. Secondarily, in last winter and this, hybrid use is unavailable for months.

Engine shut off while driving on the highway. I was able to pull over onto the emergency lane. Headlights went off (night driving) along with the heated seat and steering wheel, but the radio remained on. After stopping I notice the emergency park break was on. Once I shut the off the emergency brake I was able to resume driving. The dealership was not able to duplicate or find the problem. They hope the update for a current recall problem will fix it.

My wife and I were driving on a curvy road after dark and all of a sudden the windshield started fogging up and the blower quit and no warm air was available to clear up the windshield we had to pull off and after a time it started up again . Sometimes it seems like it takes forever for the heat to come . I think this vehicle is cursed n.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that the battery pack needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts shipping issues. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 25,090.

On December 17, 2025, I brought my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (30th anniversary edition) to los angeles Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram for safety recall 68c involving the high-voltage (hv) battery. The dealer performed the required recall software update/flash and diagnostic and confirmed the vehicle failed 68c, meaning the hv traction battery pack requires replacement. The vehicle remains at the dealer and is available for inspection. I cannot take the vehicle home even if I tried: per the recall process it must remain at the dealer once it fails, and the software flash/diagnostic effectively “bricked” the vehicle, rendering it undriveable until the hv battery is replaced. This defect involves the hv battery, a critical energy-storage component with serious safety implications. The problem has been confirmed by an authorized dealer; no police/insurance inspection. The dealer initially stated the battery would arrive around January 12, 2026, but it did not. At ~4 weeks out of service I called the dealer for an update—no eta, status, or tracking. The dealer has never proactively contacted me. At ~8 weeks I called Jeep cares—no eta, tracking, or meaningful update; they only contacted the dealer. I am still making payments on a vehicle immobilized at the dealer for ~9 weeks due to the recall remedy delay. I also did not receive the $100 recall compensation gift cards and Jeep cares has not resolved that. I am filing this complaint because the recall remedy is not being provided within a reasonable time, leaving me without transportation and without any timeline for a critical safety-recall repair.

The contact had not experienced a failure.

I was driving down the interstate with my two babies in the car seats and all of a sudden all of the dash lights came on, and the power steering locked up. I was driving 70 miles per hour and had to pry my wheel as hard as I could to be able to pull over on the side of the interstate. Once I pulled over I turned the car off hoping it would reset whatever happened and the car was completely dead. It would not crank at all. I ended up having to call someone to come get me and my kids off the side of the interstate and tow the car to the dealership. This car has less than 70,000 miles on it and still is not fixed. It has been at the dealership for over 3 weeks with what they are telling me is electrical issues. I do not feel comfortable driving this car anymore as it is a safety hazard and could have gotten me and my children killed.

Vehicle recall for potential fire risk if charging vehicle battery, was informed by email from Jeep that the vehicle is not safe to drive. No solutions given.
