The rear parking collision warning abruptly stopped working. The engine smells like it’s burning. The recall 68c has no remedy currently. My neighborhood is at risk due to this outstanding issue.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle unexpectedly lowered and started pulling to the right. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road, and the contact exited to inspect the vehicle but found no failure. The vehicle was taken to the residence, and then to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the axle and passenger’s side rear tension link were bent and lodged into the knuckle, the passenger steering knuckle was fractured with a fractured bolt inside, and the passenger’s side rear tension link, cv axle, and steering knuckle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred approximately 8 weeks later on the driver's side. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 mph, there was an abnormal sound coming from the rear passenger’s side of the vehicle, and the vehicle started pulling to the left. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and inspected, but the contact found no visible failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the driver's side rear axle and driver's side rear tension link were bent and had lodged into the knuckle, the driver's side steering knuckle was fractured with a fractured bolt inside, and the driver's side rear tension link, cv axle, and steering knuckle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 62,000.
The vehicle has an active safety recall related to a potential high-voltage battery fire. The recall warns that the battery pack may contain damaged cells that could lead to a vehicle fire under certain conditions. The manufacturer instructs owners not to recharge the battery and to park the vehicle away from buildings or other vehicles due to the fire risk. The defect puts my family and others at risk because the vehicle cannot be safely charged, cannot be parked near structures, and may pose a spontaneous fire hazard. This significantly limits the ability to drive or store the vehicle normally. The issue was present before I purchased the vehicle, and the recall was active at that time. The problem has been confirmed by the manufacturer’s recall documentation. I have contacted dealerships and the manufacturer, but no remedy appointment or software update has been provided, and a replacement high-voltage battery has not been scheduled. Warning messages and restrictions were communicated through the official recall notice. There have been no repairs performed, and the safety risk remains unresolved.
Vehicle shuts off and puts itself in park at intersections while pulling across traffic. Multiple warning lights. 4x4 faults, power steering faults, auto start/stop faults etc. Happened once just after I let off the brakes to start moving and lost power brakes.
On 10/24/2025 my wife and daughter were in the vehicle driving to her school. My wife was on the phone with me when she stated the car was reving really high and sounded like it was going to blow up how loud it was. She was driving at about 25-30 mph when the car suddenly jerked and shut off completely, the battery light turned on and the check engine light flashed before it shut off. She was able to brake and roll to the side of the road. I had instructed her to keep her foot on the break since it was not letting her shift to park. We stayed on the phone as I contacted Jeep directly and get a hold of a rep she said she was able to put it in park and she tried to turn the car on and she was able to turn it on after 10 min. She drove with the hazards on to my daughters school and dropped her off I told her park the car and don't use it until I get home. I got home on 10/26/2025 and the light was off I made an appointment with Jeep for that week 10/31 and they stated they were unable to find anything in the computer for the issue that had occurred instead they saw a issue with my heating and it was pump. I have a case open with Jeep and they have yet to return my call after a week of non stop calling, I emailed stelantis but they stated they cant assist has to be Jeep directly. I would love some help with this as the car has been to the dealership three time for multiple issues and recalls that they stated they did and still show are not done. I have a schduled appointment for the 68c but there is no remedy yet.
I am reporting a serious safety issue involving my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee hybrid. The vehicle has experienced repeated stalling and loss of propulsion while driving, including in active traffic and in a school pickup line. The vehicle has unexpectedly failed to accelerate or start, creating dangerous situations for myself, my passengers, and surrounding vehicles. The vehicle has stalled in traffic and at low speeds without warning. On multiple occasions, it lost propulsion while driving, requiring me to stop unexpectedly. One incident occurred in a school pickup line, causing traffic disruption and creating a safety risk with children present. In addition, the vehicle is subject to a high-voltage battery safety recall due to fire risk. I have been advised that the vehicle is unsafe to park in a garage, and I am concerned about the risk of fire. At this time, there is no permanent repair available for the recall. Despite reporting these issues and seeking service, the safety defects remain unresolved. The combination of stalling, loss of propulsion, and fire risk makes the vehicle unsafe to operate and unsafe to park. I am requesting that NHTSA review this matter as a safety defect involving loss of power, stalling, and fire risk.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v576000 (electrical system). The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the recall repair was performed. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brakes independently engaged. The contact stated that the failure had occurred twice. In addition, the contact stated that while driving on a busy bridge, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to exceed 40 mph. The contact drove at a slow speed for a while before being able to take an exit. The contact stated that the low tire pressure warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the road. The contact turned off the vehicle. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle started. The contact stated that the failure had not reoccurred. In addition, the contact stated that the failure started one week after the recall repair was performed. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was 35,000.
Backing into a parking space in reverse the vehicle all of a sudden begins to accelerate forward with the gear selector showing "r" illuminated almost causing me to hit 2 cars parked in front of me. After putting the vehicle in park and reverse again I was able to park and then the vehicle gave a "service hybrid system" warning and then stalled out. I had no issues prior to this and it seems the 95b recall had something to do with it as I had this performed a week prior. It has a stored code for " digital input crash " according to the dealer but they said it is deemed safe to drive. I don't think so.
73c / NHTSA 25v576 recall regarding loss of propulsion/vehicles stopping and / or decelerating.
While driving, the vehicle sends a message that the automatic cruise control has shut down, the car starts slowing down and doesn't respond to pressing on the gas. Only recourse is to move off to the side of the road, shut everything down and turn it back on. The batteries show two miles left on the electric system. This is the second occurrence. Both have occurred at highway speed.
Driving down interstate going 78mph in hybrid mode and the car shuts off and I was able to get over to the side of the road since traffic wasn't bad at the time. Restarted the car and went on my way with no other issues until last week. Driving down the interstate again in hybrid mode and the "service hybrid " light starts flashing and so I changed to all gas for the remainder of the trip. Took it to the dealer yesterday and they had no answers other then they updated the software. We shall see but how it works but I have my doubts that it wont cut off again or have issues. Only has 14k miles on it when this stuff happened.
The vehicle is a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid SUV. While driving in heavy traffic on a 45 mph road, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion, with the dash lighting up with a large "service hybrid system" warning. After several seconds of no response, with traffic trying to work its way around my stalled SUV, the vehicle began to move again, albeit very slowly, just enough to limp it to a side street. After another 30 seconds or so, the problem cleared itself and the vehicle returned to a normal state of propulsion. I took the car to the dealer where I left it for more than a week. Apparently this is a known issue, and a code appeared (b273c-00, digital crash input), but they were not able to replicate the issue while they had the vehicle and so they just reset the code. The automaker is also aware of this problem, but doesn't deem it severe enough to issue a warning to customers or provide alternative transportation while a fix is developed. The dealer's advice is to let them know when it happens again. At this point, I don't feel the vehicle is safe to drive, and it will remain parked until a fix is available.
Below is the letter I sent to stellantis. I am writing to file an urgent and formal complaint regarding ongoing, severe safety and functionality issues with my Jeep 4xe , leased through stellantis financial. These issues have not only rendered the vehicle unreliable, but they have also endangered my life, the lives of my children, and the public-particularly as I work in an elementary school setting where safety is paramount. Most alarmingly, my Jeep 4xe recently reversed on its own at an accelerated speed without input, and would not stop until I prompted the brakes repeatedly. Had a child or pedestrian been behind the vehicle, the incident could've resulted in severe injury or death. As a parent and educator, this experience was traumatizing and has left me fearful of operating the vehicle in any public or residential space. Additionally, my vehicle frequently enters "turtle mode" (reduced power mode) without warning, significantly increasing my risk of being rear- ended in traffic. This unpredictability is unacceptable for any vehicle-especially one marked as a safe, family-friendly hybrid. These critical safety failures began shortly after the recall involving the vehicle's battery. Since then I've experienced: *multiple simultaneous sensor malfunctions *reduced driving speeds and performance *inability to charge the vehicle on a professionally installed level 2 charger *recurring shop visits without permanent resolution while earlier issues were inconvenient, they pale in comparison to the dangerous and erratic behavior of the vehicle now. Despite repeated attempts by service technicians to address these problems, each "fix" is followed by a new or recurring issue. This pattern shows that the vehicle is fundamentally flawed and no longer safe to operate.
3 instances of complete loss of power, 1 while driving. Vehicle came to a hard stop as though I had slammed on the brakes. Dealer and Jeep have acknowledged the problem as a known issue. Jeep is saying it's safe to drive, but dealer agrees it is not and is not returning the vehicle to me. All dash lights came in during each instance and gave the error message "service now, hybrid system failure. " summary of the 3 instances below. It has been at the dealer since 5/8/2025. 3/29/25 approx 6pm I was stopped, and the error message came on and vehicle shut off. Attempted to restart approximately five times. Let’s sit for a few minutes, vehicle restarted and all error messages went away. 4/23/25 6:30pm driving at low speed, air messages came on vehicle abruptly stopped, narrowly avoided, getting rear ended, passengers complaint of neck pain. Engine turned on, all error messages immediately went away. 5/6/25 5:35pm error messages came on while driving, engine started, no impact to driving. Error messages went away almost immediately. Jeep s. T. A. R. Case was created.
I am filing a formal safety complaint regarding my hybrid Jeep vehicle due to ongoing and unresolved safety issues that present a significant risk to myself and others. Since the beginning of ownership, I have experienced repeated and escalating problems with the vehicle, including: * hybrid system malfunction warnings and persistent red wrench indicator * aggressive and unsafe gear shifting while driving * vehicle stalling unexpectedly * vehicle intermittently failing to turn on or shut off properly in addition to these critical concerns, my vehicle has been under recall 68c since October 2025. To date, there has been no available remedy provided. I have been explicitly instructed not to park the vehicle in a garage or near structures and to avoid charging the vehicle due to an increased risk of fire. This situation has created significant hardship and safety concerns. I am unable to safely use or store my vehicle as intended. I have also been informed that potential fire damage related to this issue may not be covered by homeowners insurance, further increasing the risk and liability I am being forced to assume. Despite repeated attempts to address these issues through proper channels, including dealership service visits and manufacturer communication, no resolution has been provided. This vehicle poses a clear safety hazard due * risk of fire associated with the hybrid battery system * unpredictable stalling and drivetrain behavior while in operation * lack of manufacturer remedy for an active safety recall I am requesting immediate investigation, accountability, and corrective action to ensure the safety of consumers affected by this issue.
Major warning lights appeared on dash. Vehicle began presenting messages stating to service vehicle systems. Power steering, traction control, and emergency braking were among those listed. Vehicle was at a 60% state of charge with 95% fuel. Engine ran, but other major vehicle systems would not engage. Attempted to reverse the vehicle to see if it would move and it accelerated abnormally fast in reverse. The vehicle stated hybrid mode and ready, but was not in an operable state. The issue persisted between restarts and idling sessions.
On February 10, 2025 at approximately 4:45 est, I was driving approximately 55mph in the far left lane of a multi-lane highway when I received a notice that my hybrid propulsion system had malfunctioned. Upon receiving the notice, I immediately lost power/propulsion of my vehicle although the warning notice disappeared and the screen made it appear that the vehicle was operating. As I pressed the gas pedal, I noted that there was no power being provided to the powertrain and I had to progressively move to the right to find a safe spot to stop. Upon stopping, the warning re-appeared and informed me to put the car in park and turn it off and restart the vehicle. At the time of failure, the battery had a remaining charge of 10% and 3/4 tank of gas. Upon restart, the vehicle functioned as normal using the gasoline powered engine. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My safety was put at risk due to the loss of power in an area where most vehicles were operating near 55 mph. The computer warning about the malfunction was confusing and it disappeared relatively quickly leading to significant confusion about how to operate the vehicle especially given that the dashboard returned to a normal state. The problem has not yet been reported to a dealer as they were closed for service. There were no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to the failure other than the short warning that appeared at the start of the loss of power and referenced above.
Vehicle: 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee trailhawk 4xe problem description: while driving at highway speeds, the vehicle suddenly loses all propulsion and displays a message stating: “put in park before restarting. ” this happens without warning, creating an immediate safety risk in traffic. The engine shuts down, and I am forced to stop in the middle of the road, shift to park, and manually restart the vehicle. This has occurred multiple times. The dealership and Jeep customer service acknowledges the issue but says no repair is available and has not resolved it. I’ve also been without a reliable vehicle since February 2025. I am aware of NHTSA complaints #11579877 and #11576290 describing identical problems in the same make/model/year. I believe this defect is related to the battery or hybrid powertrain system and poses a serious safety hazard to myself and others. I am also aware of NHTSA recall 24v720000 related to battery issues, which may be linked to this sudden power loss. Symptoms: •sudden loss of drive power •“put in park to restart” message •dash warnings (wrench/lightning bolt/hybrid system fault) •must restart car to regain function date problem began: [Feb 2025] mileage: [17000] vehicle still unrepaired and unsafe to drive.
While driving this 4xe (hybrid) the vehicle thinks that it has been plugged in to charge and will momentarily shut down, no brake lights, no warning. Ours has been in the shop for almost three months waiting for a fix. On three occasions we were told it was working as designed and sent down the road. Thankfully we were in no accidents but had seven close calls. It happens every time you drive it. The incident date is just a date, it happens every time you drive it.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 35-45 mph and making a turn, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the messages that the abs and the gear switch were locked, and other unknown messages were displayed. The contact was unable to pull over to the side of the road. The contact stated that upon depressing the brake pedal and turning the rotary dial to drive(d), the rotary dial independently shifted back to park(p). The contact stated that the vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was jumpstarted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired and remained at the dealer for several months. The contact stated that the dealer had recently informed her that the transmission was leaking, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 46,811.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated and stalled. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact requested buy-back assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.
Powertrain/engine performance (acceleration control): vehicle struggles to accelerate when pressing the gas. Transmission / drivetrain (gear engagement / shift control): vehicle drops from reverse into neutral without driver input (unintended gear disengagement). Water intrusion: ongoing water intrusion, power tailgate was already replaced due to water erosion, when it rains or snows water gets into vehicle resulting in a musty/moldy smell and driver side mat soaking wet. Yes — the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The loss of acceleration / hesitation / jolting creates a risk of being unable to merge, cross intersections, or accelerate in traffic when needed. The unintended shift from reverse into neutral can cause loss of intended vehicle control/movement while reversing (driveway/parking lot risk), increasing collision risk with nearby vehicles, pedestrians, or property. Reverse ? neutral: reported to dealer multiple times; confirmation varies by visit (intermittent concern) stellantis customer retention states they spoke with the service manager and confirmed the repair history and dealer visits, not necessarily a physical engineer inspection.
The vehicle has no heating, I’ve taken the vehicle multiple times to the dealership from September 2024 and to date January 2025, the vehicle has been in the dealership since December, multiple attempts has been made to fix the heating system including replacing parts one of them being a valve. Vehicle is still not working after replacement of parts, the engineering company called “star engineering” are involved at this point and they are still continuing to fix the car. The electrical component of this car is not working properly. This car is only 1 year old and it is a hybrid 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee purchased brand new. In 2023 after 2 weeks of leading this vehicle, the cars steering wheel froze and I was unable to drive it, I had to get the vehicle towed to the dealership. This is a major safety issue especially if you have children in the car, at the time I had my [xxx] in the vehicle, unable to drive it. Recently, temperatures have dropped significantly in November here in massachusetts, and I had to drive with my toddler with no heat, in freezing temperatures and cover my child with a blanket. I was told by the dealership service staff that I needed to clean my car so the heat can work, after vacuuming my car I dropped it off again December and showed them for the 5th time that the car is blowing cold air, while the heating temperature is max and “hot”. In November, on a random day I arrived home and the car engine did not want to turn off after pressing the “off” button, we had to park the car far away from our home in fear that it will catch fire or start “having a mind of its own”, the vehicle decided to shut off on its own after an hour, I also shared this with the dealership. This car is not safe to have at all! not safe to drive out in the cold or in the highway and not safe if you have children! please do not buy any hybrid models from Jeep. There were no warning messages, the vehicle has always passed inspection. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(.
On 7/9/24 I was driving on the highway and Jeep began to lose power and speed. I was unable to accelerate to maintain speed or safely pull to the shoulder. Jeep completely lost power and stopped in the middle of the highway and I had to wait with hazards until I could successfully turn on the car and drive again. This exact thing happened again today on 7/16/24 it was very dangerous and scary especially since I was almost rear ended.
I received a safety recall letter in the mail. I made an appointment at the south shore Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram service center in inwood, NY for the repair of the recall and to change the oil. I specifically made the appointment for the recall (I keep getting notifications to repair) I went to the service center (1 hour drive from my home) on may 18,2024 (when I called to check in for the appointment “shanty” told me that there’s no appointment scheduled for me, even though I got a text message confirming the appointment) nevertheless, I went anyways. When I provided the recall letter to the representative, he told me that the service team can only do an oil change and can’t repair the defrost that day. So, after waiting for the oil change, I asked when I can come back for the recall repair, the representative told me that they need to get the parts first. I also notified the rep. That my parking rear view camera doesn’t turn on sometimes when in r and sometimes the screen goes black while I’m in the middle of parking. They ended up letting me go and drive with the recall still active. On June 19, 2024, I read on fox business that stellantis is recalling Jeeps due to rear view camera defects. I called the dealer who sold me the car (apparently he no longer works at Jeep) I spoke to a different representative, she gave me the phone number to mopar and stellantis - nothing else. Throughout the entire time of driving this car, I’ve been experiencing total discomfort. The car constantly jerks, seems like it doesn’t have enough power or traction (even though the gas tank is full and charged too) , and the windshield defrost takes a long time to work, even just the other day on June 29,2024 I started to drive and the windshield got so foggy that I had to stop. This car is dangerous and I do not feel safe driving it.
While driving on the freeway. Slowing down speed due to traffic, the vehicle through itself in park. With the warning messages stating service transmission. The vehicle would not go into any other gear besides park. Thankfully no collision was caused due to the abrupt halt. The vehicle was then towed for repairs to the dealer. It was determined that the valve body had to be replaced. The transmission now whines when accelerating. Then the forward collision illuminated along with airbag icon. Message stated service airbag system. Airbag system unavailable, safety hazard. Pending diagnosis of why airbag system has failed.
The stalantis manufacturer of 2023 Jeep vehicles has modified its steering/transmission controls to cause a safety concern. On the steering wheel are two “auto stick” (aka “paddles”) which when touched switch the transmission from automatic to manual. The “auto stick” controls are marked (-) minus on the left side of the steering wheel and (+) on the right side. Beneath them are the controls for the radio (or other media). These are “buttons” on the left that control the channels (up & down) for the radio. On the right side they control the volume. The safety concern is that the “auto stick” can be easily hit at the same time when attempting to use the radio controls and it will immediately shift the transmission from automatic to manual. The auto-stick control can also be inadvertently hit when using the steering wheel in a normal manner. This is dangerous. The vehicle can go into a lower gear and the engine can hit the “red” line as it becomes stuck in only one gear. The vehicle becomes difficult to control unless the driver can immediately sense the manual transmission and then hit the proper paddle a number of times to gain control. I have had to pull over to the side of the road a number of times and turn off the vehicle and wait 60 seconds for it to reset to the automatic transmission upon restart. Prior to the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland design, the “auto stick” controls could be disabled by the driver using the electronic screen and setting it to “disable” the paddles so they did not work (or conversely made to use at the drivers discretion). Now there is no way to disable the auto stick controls and even a slight swipe at them changes the transmission from automatic to manual. I consider this a dangerous safety concern which can easily allow a driver to lose control without realizing it. Please contact the manufacturer stanlantis to immediately make a modification to the transmission controls.
Approx one time per month the transmission will not upshfft from 1st gear when accelerating from a stop. Engine rpm is very high and resulting vehicle speed low. Only remedy I have found is to pullover, stop and turn engine off, then restart.
On/about 3/20 while driving on the freeway changing lanes, the transmission went from 8th gear to 3rd and did so with such violently it felt as though I was struck by another car. The transmission did this multiple times with multiple drivers. This has been a systemic problem since I bought the car with 11 miles on the odometer from a Jeep dealer. Last, the transmission stuck in 8th gear and barley rolled into a driveway where it had to be towed to the dealer for not being able to select a gear and with a check engine lite on. This Jeep has been at the dealers service shop for over 45 days with issues related to the transmission and only had 3000 miles on the odometer currently. This has been a problem since being purchased. Multiple forms talk about transmission issues on their like model 2020-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokees.
Hybrid system, air suspension system, engine, power train car acceleration power cut out while driving 50 mph suddenly while driving down the road. Held up traffic when came to complete stop, vehicle would not restart immediately. Needed to restart vehicle multiple times before it started moving again. Problem has not been able to be reproduced by the dealer. They reset codes and took on a test drive and was not able to reproduce the issue. Vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other than the dealer. Currently check engine light is on with air suspension fault light on as well. There was no warning to the vehicle losing power.
Vehicle emits vibrations and shutter/loud noises from transmission at different speeds traveling on roadway. Dealer has deemed unrepairable and calls it harmonically imbalanced. Vehicle presents hard shifts to gear and downshifts.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving very slowly and making a left turn, the vehicle abruptly stopped nearly causing a rear end collision. The contact discovered that the transmission had erroneously shifted to park and failed to shift back to drive. After a while the contact was able to drive the vehicle to his parents’ residence. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 536.
Jeep has defective transmissions in several 4xe models and not recalling - still selling these cars knowing transmissions are bad causing several issues for customers and major safety concern.
On 1/31/24, while merging onto a highway(approx 45 mph), I accelerated into the lane in front of a truck. As I pressed the gas pedal nothing happened. The engine did not rev and I did not accelerate. I swerved on to the shoulder and coasted for several hundred feet and came to a stop. I put the car in park, turned off the vehicle and restarted it. Operated normally after that. The second instance of loss of motive power was on 3/11/24. Turning right on a residential street (approx 15 mph), the car demonstrated the exact same issue. In both cases no warning lights or messages came up, and the 'fix' was the same. Starting approximately 6/15/24 the vehicle began displaying the message "electric mode temporarily unavailable" while driving. I would experience a loss of motive power temporarily, coast for 5-10 seconds, the vehicle would switch to 'gas mode' and the combustion engine would take over. This happened between 15-20 times over the following 2 months. I was told by the dealership they couldn't do anything about it unless I had video or picture proof of the issue. I obtained both and was told the dealership would no longer take my vehicle in for repairs, only scheduled maintenance. The videos I have are over the size limit however I will include a pic of the dashboard when it happens. I have multiple videos and pictures as well if needed.
Dashboard showed transmission error message: service transmission continue in d, do not shift or turn off engine until you reach a desired location, you may not be able to shift again until serviced. Vehicle was stuck in 1st gear and would not shift out for 5 minutes. Taken to dealer with engine light on and shown pictures of error messages and dealer found nothing wrong with vehicle. This all happened on a highway and I had to navigate from high speeds to slow and stop in the exit lane.
