When accelerating, the car suddenly jerks and stops moving at a consistent speed. This happened multiple times over the last 8 months or so. Sometimes it happens immediately after backing out of my driveway. It has also happened while driving on a highway at high speeds (65mph) where I've nearly been involved in high speed accidents. There was a recall back in November that claimed this was a software issue, however, it has continued to happen. No warning lights come on.
While driving down the road on the highway, the hood randomly popped open, engaging the emergency breaking system extremely harshly. Then the vehicle was unable to shift back into gear. Reported problem to dealer and no codes shown for the incident. Jeep (fca/stelantis) potentially had the system like Volkswagen when it knows it took it up to the diagnostic system to not show codes were an injury or something serious could’ve happened. Warning indicator lights, and all kinds of indicators were going off in the vehicle at the time of incident, but not the very next day from the dealership plugged it into the system.
While driving, my vehicle has intermittently lost power without warning, creating a serious safety hazard. The loss of power occurs unexpectedly while the vehicle is in motion and is not associated with any driver input, weather, or road conditions. The issue has occurred on more than one occasion. The first occasion in March 2025. The issue appeared to be temporarily resolved but later recurred, indicating the underlying problem was not corrected. When the loss of power occurs, the vehicle does not respond to acceleration input and behaves as though propulsion is cut off completely. This happens suddenly and without warning while driving. This condition creates a dangerous situation, particularly when driving in traffic or at speed as was the case on 12/4/25 when driving 70 mph on the freeway, the second time the issue occurred for us. The car was immediately brought to the dealership on 12/4/2025 and remains there today. On the first occurrence the dealership attributed it to low battery charge and replaced both batteries. The dealership has performed inspections and diagnostics including:battery testing and replacement, wiring and harness inspections, software updates to vehicle control modules, extended road testing. Despite these efforts:the issue has not been permanently resolved, the dealership has stated the concern could not be duplicated, the dealership has indicated that fault codes were not always present. A star case has been opened, Jeep customer care has been contacted regarding this issue, and a field technician has been requested to come to the dealership to assess the vehicle. Despite repeated service visits I am submitting this complaint to report a recurring, intermittent loss-of-power condition that may not consistently trigger diagnostic fault codes but poses a serious safety risk for the car occupants and other drivers on the road surrounding this vehicle.
I just recently purchased my vehicle through mears Mazda locally in lubbock, TX. At first I did not notice how unsafe it drove due to the recalls. The more I drive the vehicle I notice it feels like there is a resistance in braking or slowing down and getting stuck in certain gears when I am going at a lower speed below 20 mph. It causes concern for me if I am driving in a bigger city or in a traffic jam as this could possibly cause a major accident if a malfunction occurs with the vehicle causing me to cause a multiple vehicle collision on a highway or street. I did ask the dealership prior to signing " are there any issues known with this model type of Jeep or recalls?" they simply stated no. I have told them that since I had just recently signed my paperwork Friday and trading in my prior vehicle would it be possible to reverse everything, he stated no. I do not know the laws in texas or if there is an alternate route I can go about this due to it being a safety issue. When I've contacted Jeep there is yet a remedy to fix this issue.
The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle unintendedly accelerated. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v766000 (engine); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 114,213.
2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe — ongoing safety defects with no available remedy I am reporting multiple unresolved safety defects on my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe that create a serious and ongoing risk of injury or death. I have contacted stellantis bi-weekly since may, and my dealership has repeatedly stated they have no available repairs, no recommended remedies, and no ability to take the vehicle in due to outstanding recalls with no fix. I am being forced to operate a vehicle that is not safe to drive. 1. High-pitch electrical hum and continuous cooling fans while parked/off when the vehicle is turned off and not plugged in, it continues to emit a high-pitch electrical hum and the cooling fans run almost constantly. This behavior only occurs during charging or thermal management cycles, yet it happens while the vehicle is off, producing an abnormal load and possible electrical malfunction. Dealership confirms the issue but states there is no fix. 2. Instrument cluster and infotainment screens blacking out while driving both digital displays shut off repeatedly while I am driving — up to 20 times per day. This removes access to critical information such as speed, warning indicators, and hybrid system status. The dealership again states they have no repair guidance from stellantis and cannot resolve the issue. 3. Air suspension malfunctioning hazardously the air suspension system releases and refills abruptly and uncontrollably. When I start the vehicle, the system rapidly raises and lowers regardless of mode or setting. It cycles continuously even when parked. The dealer acknowledges the behavior but reports no available service procedure or repair bulletin. 4. Sudden uncommanded acceleration when slowing to a stop (most dangerous issue) when decelerating below ~20 mph, the vehicle will suddenly rev to 4,000–6,000 rpm and lurch forward, requiring immediate and forceful braking to prevent collision. This happens in all modes (hybrid, electric, and e-save). T.
Vehicle will randomly downshift on freeway risking unexpected acceleration and potentially causing a crash. Dealership is unable to rectify issue as of 11/04/2025.
The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 2 mph, the vehicle experienced an unintended and excessive acceleration, and the vehicle failed to respond upon depressing the brake pedal. The contact stated that the vehicle came to a stop independently. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle remained at the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,422. .
While driving in the los angelas area on March 24, 2025, on the 210 freeway approaching the 605 freeway the vehicle abruptly decelerated from 65mph to 45mph. A message appeared instructing "continue to your destination, do not turn off your engine, if you turn off your engine you may not be able to start it again. " we contacted Jeep connected who directed us to cerritos cdjr. As we were heading south on the 605 freeway the vehicle again abruptly decelerated to 28mph. This placed us in a dangerous safety situation as we were at the height of the afternoon traffic. The service advisor was able to determine that the valve body(vb) and transmission control module(tcm) had failed. Also, both batteries were fully drained of their charge. The mileage was 4095. The comment was that the batteries contributed to the vb/tcm failure. We have continued to experience battery degradation with five (5) batteries having been replaced within the first year of ownership. We continue to identify battery degradation to the dealership but have received no correction to this defect. Over the past four (4) months we have documented "resting" battery voltage at a level where they are at or below 50% of their expected lifetime. While it is suggested that parasitic drain is the cause, we continually ensure that lights, radio, heating and air-conditioning and Jeep connected are turned off when parked. I have documented to the utah division of consumer protection and ncds these conditions. The ruling from ncds denied. "I have reached this conclusion for the following reason: the customer did prove by shop work orders a manufacturer defect does exist with the batteries discharging, which has affected the use and safety of the vehicle. However, there has only been three repair attempts with replacing batteries which is not considered unreasonable in my opinion. " with the recognition by an arbitrator that a manufacture defect exists which affects safety, it cannot be limited to my vehicle.
When driving down interstate five in san diego, my vehicle decided that it wanted to come to a screeching halt suddenly as the forward collision system activated randomly, causing my neck to jolt and a distill in pain. I had no idea what was going on, but in order to try to get out of the way of traffic, I quickly tried to override what the system was doing after coming to a complete stop, then the accelerator stuck getting the vehicle going over 100 mph. The hybrid system only shut down the gas engine, but the electric was still propelling the vehicle to go forward. I had to hit the button to turn the vehicle to gas only and shift into neutral in order for the vehicle to finally stop getting below 100 miles per hour to where I could safely pull over to the side of the road. I called Jeep and they laughed.
Vehicle acceleration stops at high altitudes which causes the vehicle to suddenly maintain lower gear and speeds while driving on interstate/highway. Vehicle had accelerator replaced by delearship at 1,406 miles, however the issue continued. Dealership is now replacing turbocharger engine after reporting failure at 3,500 miles.
