The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 50 mph, the vehicle lost motive power. The driver was able to pull over to the side of the road. There was no warning light illuminated. The driver was able to restart the vehicle after approximately 30 minutes, and the driver resumed driving. The contact received notifications of NHTSA campaign numbers: 25v741000 (electrical system) and 25v766000 (engine), and related the failure to the recalls; however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where an unknown software update was performed, and the contact was advised not to use the hybrid system of the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle failed to start intermittently, made abnormal clicking sounds, and was glitching. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 16,000.
The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership, and they confirmed they cannot repair recalls 68c, 73c, or 78c because the manufacturer has not provided any remedy or parts. No warning lamps appeared before the recall, but the vehicle is now classified as a fire risk and cannot be charged. The dealership is holding the vehicle because they cannot safely release it back to me due to the high-voltage battery safety hazard. Stellantis has failed to offer any repair timeline, and I believe this is a serious safety issue requiring NHTSA intervention.

• component/system: the high-voltage battery system in the plug-in hybrid propulsion system is subject to an active safety recall related to potential fire risk. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. • safety risk: the manufacturer has instructed owners not to charge the vehicle near structures and to park it away from buildings due to the risk of battery fire. This creates an ongoing safety concern because normal charging and garaging cannot be performed safely, altering how and where the vehicle can be operated and stored. After speaking with my homeowners insurance, if the home were to catch fire through this vehicle, the claim would be denied because there is an active recall stating not to charge the vehicle. • reproduction/confirmation: the condition has been confirmed by the manufacturer through the official recall notice. The dealer has not attempted a repair because no remedy is currently available. Despite visiting the dealer, the dealer still states not to charge the car in the house. • inspections by others: the vehicle has not required inspection by police or insurance representatives. The issue is acknowledged by the manufacturer as part of the recall, and no repair procedure has been released to dealers. • warning lamps/symptoms: there were no specific warning lamps prior to receiving the recall notice. The issue was identified by the manufacturer and communicated through recall notification rather than a driver-observed failure. The recall notice is the first indication of the problem.
On 11/28/2025, I received recall notice 68c/NHTSA 25v-741, from fca us llc. The recall affects my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, pih. The recall states that the vehicle is at risk of catching fire, due to damage that may occur to the high voltage battery, during normal vehicle operation, and that there are no remedies for this condition currently available. In addition, owners are advised to refrain from. . . 1. Recharging the vehicle 2. Parking near structures 3. Parking near other vehicles unfortunately, I don't live near an open field, so numbers 2 and 3 are nearly implossible. I contacted the fce recall hotline today, and was told that someone from their "safe parking and rental car" team would be contacting me. This vehicle is leased through stellantis motors. I want a simple termination of my lease immediately, so my wife will again be able to drive her car, safely transport our grandson, and park safely in our driveway. Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Recall 25v-741 (manufacturer recall 68c) affects my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. The recall notice states that, due to potential high-voltage battery cell separator damage, the vehicle may catch fire even when powered off. Jeep instructs owners not to charge the vehicle and not to park inside garages or near structures. There is no remedy available, and Jeep has stated that remedy identification may not occur until q1 2026, with additional delays expected for parts and repairs. As a result of these instructions, I am unable to store the vehicle safely at my home, since my residence only has attached garage parking. My workplace garage has also prohibited these recalled vehicles from entering due to fire risk. The vehicle is currently kept at the dealership because it cannot be safely stored. Jeep’s interim support is insufficient. They offer only $60/day rental reimbursement, which does not cover a comparable vehicle, and only $50 per rental period in taxes, leaving owners with significant out-of-pocket costs while their leased vehicles cannot be used for an extended period. This places owners in the position of either paying significant out-of-pocket expenses for an unsuitable rental vehicle, or continuing to park, store, or charge their vehicles in ways that contradict Jeep’s fire-risk guidance. While the recall is not labeled as a “stop drive,” the instructions functionally prevent safe use or storage of the vehicle. I am reporting this because the current interim guidance and lack of remedy create ongoing fire risk and practical safety issues for owners with no safe place to store the vehicle and no adequate interim solution.

These vehicles need to be taken off the road and stellantis needs to buy them back. 4 recalls all related to fires and/or failure of propulsion at speed that can cause accidents. Now I have 2 more open recalls, one for battery fire risk and another for the gasoline engine fire risk. Both the battery and gas engine systems on this vehicle are not safe enough to drive but there is no available fix for either. If the vehicles are unsafe enough to warrant these safety recalls with no fix then they should not be on the roads and those of us that are stuck with them should have relief from the manufacturer to get rid of them.
2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, vehicle bought new in July 2025! 3 incidents of loss of propulsion occurred while city driving from August to October in 2025. Recall 73c performed on oct 22, 2025! on 11/18/25 requested vehicle inspection from mcinerney auto center (troy) per advise from mcinerney dealership (alpena). Vehicle driven in hybrid mode without battery charged from Dec 4,2025 until Jan 19, 2026!!! recall 68c performed on Jan 20,2026. Now we have recall 78c (Nov 2025) with no fix insight!!! this recall is sand in the engine from casting process! this can be a long term problem along with the hybrid battery fire possibility with the previous recalls!!! so, this vehicle is not reliable short term and for sure long term! these recalls are major recalls for a new vehicle. We want a new vehicle or our money back ASAP!!! we want the vehicle manufacturer to call us ASAP!!!.

My vehicle is affected by recall 25v-741 (fca recall 68c), which involves a risk of high-voltage battery fire due to potential internal separator damage. Fca’s NHTSA filing instructs owners to refrain from recharging the battery and to park the vehicle away from structures or other vehicles until a remedy is available. The recall remedy is not available. Fca customer care advised me by phone that the vehicle is “safe to drive in e-save mode unless symptoms appear,” which contradicts the recall notice because the defect can cause a fire without warning or symptoms. This vehicle automatically recharges the high-voltage battery through regenerative braking and engine charging, making it impossible to comply with the instruction to “refrain from recharging. ” during another discussion, a technician also told me that the “stop sale has nothing to do with the safety of the vehicle” and advised me to “drive normally. ” when I asked about the prior cases where vehicles covered by this recall had caught fire, the technician replied, “well, they’re still around, right?” this guidance minimizes the documented fire risk and contradicts the official recall filings. The vehicle cannot be safely used or stored under normal conditions, and no interim solution or transportation has been provided. The dealer stated they were instructed by the manufacturer’s warranty team not to assist and reiterated that no remedy exists. I am reporting the unsafe and contradictory guidance from the manufacturer and the inability to safely use the vehicle while the recall remains unresolved.
This hybrid vehicle is equipped with a battery that can combust and catch on fire. A remedy is unavailable - the car is a safety problem to my family since it can not be charged or housed in my garage. This car was leased for its hybrid options for my travel to work - basically I am paying for a feature I can not use. I also worry about my family driving in it as well. I was never informed by any correspondence from stellantis regarding this recall - it was discovered by my own research from news articles. There is no immediate remedy and stellantis refuses to release me from my lease. This problem was confirmed by the dealership I leased the vehicle from. This SUV is available for inspection at any time.
Hello, I am reaching out regarding a serious safety issue involving my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe under an active recall (78c), which stellantis has acknowledged can cause an engine fire or sudden loss of vehicle function. Despite the severity of this recall, there is currently no remedy available. I have contacted stellantis corporate multiple times and have been met with consistently poor customer service, including being told I am not allowed to open another case because my issue is “irrelevant” due to it involving a recall. I am leasing a vehicle that is not safe to drive, with a known fire risk and no repair solution. I have formally requested that stellantis buy back the vehicle without penalty given the safety risk and inability to use the vehicle as intended. They have refused to accept the vehicle back or offer any meaningful resolution. This raises serious concerns about consumer safety and corporate accountability—particularly when a manufacturer acknowledges a defect but refuses to take responsibility for removing unsafe vehicles from the road.
Received an alert that the hybrid system had failed. We have not used the vehicle since all of the recalls have been received as we are too afraid for our safety and the safety of others on the road. The Jeep dealer confirmed there is no solution or fix to any of the recalls and referred us to the leasing company. I requested to be let out of my lease since there was not a resolution, and I am too afraid to drive the vehicle or put my child in it and they denied my request. I have only had the car a few months and it is not fair that I have to pay for something that is a possible danger that I cannot drive because there is no remedy.
I am writing to outline my urgent concerns regarding the 78c recall affecting the 2023–2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe and 2024–2025 wrangler 4xe suvs. This recall was initiated due to a manufacturing defect where casting sand remains in the 2. 0l engine, presenting a risk of catastrophic engine failure, sudden power loss, or fire. The potential for engine fire or unexpected power loss represents a significant safety risk to my family. The possibility of fire, even when the vehicle is parked and not in use, puts my home and neighboring properties in danger. This risk is especially heightened during colorado’s wildfire season, when any vehicle fire could quickly escalate into a larger disaster. Due to the recall, I am unable to use the vehicle as intended under the terms of my lease agreement. I cannot safely operate or charge the vehicle. Furthermore, the requirement to park the vehicle outside does not eliminate the risk of fire, which continues to threaten my property and those nearby. There is currently no available repair or remedy for this defect. As a result, the vehicle is unusable for an indefinite period of time. Given the unresolved safety hazards, inability to use the vehicle, and lack of a repair solution, I formally request that you initiate a buy back of my affected vehicle. This action is necessary to ensure my family’s safety and to resolve the ongoing hardship caused by this recall.
The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact had received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v576000 (electrical system); the vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the recall repair was performed. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the vehicle shutoff upon exiting the driveway and the battery message was displayed on the instrument panel. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed back to the dealer however, the vehicle failed to duplicate the failure. The contact was informed that since the failure could not be duplicated, the vehicle was safe to drive. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact expressed concerns about the safety of the vehicle despite the dealer stating that the vehicle was safe to drive. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.
I am filing a complaint regarding my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, which currently has a high-voltage battery fire-risk recall with no remedy available. This recall states the vehicle should not be parked in garages or near structures due to fire risk. This makes the vehicle unsafe to use as intended. My vehicle has also experienced four total recalls, repeated check-engine warnings, and it was in the service department recently (within the last week) with no mention of the battery recall and no resolution for the ongoing issues. I have attempted to contact my dealership (fred beans Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram, doylestown, PA) and the general manager but have received no response for over a week regarding options for a safe loaner vehicle or next steps. The lack of remedy, the safety risk of fire, the inability to safely park or charge the vehicle, and the dealership’s failure to respond place my family at risk and leave the vehicle effectively unusable. I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in documenting and escalating this unresolved and hazardous situation.

2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe — ongoing safety defects with no available remedy I am reporting multiple unresolved safety defects on my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe that create a serious and ongoing risk of injury or death. I have contacted stellantis bi-weekly since may, and my dealership has repeatedly stated they have no available repairs, no recommended remedies, and no ability to take the vehicle in due to outstanding recalls with no fix. I am being forced to operate a vehicle that is not safe to drive. 1. High-pitch electrical hum and continuous cooling fans while parked/off when the vehicle is turned off and not plugged in, it continues to emit a high-pitch electrical hum and the cooling fans run almost constantly. This behavior only occurs during charging or thermal management cycles, yet it happens while the vehicle is off, producing an abnormal load and possible electrical malfunction. Dealership confirms the issue but states there is no fix. 2. Instrument cluster and infotainment screens blacking out while driving both digital displays shut off repeatedly while I am driving — up to 20 times per day. This removes access to critical information such as speed, warning indicators, and hybrid system status. The dealership again states they have no repair guidance from stellantis and cannot resolve the issue. 3. Air suspension malfunctioning hazardously the air suspension system releases and refills abruptly and uncontrollably. When I start the vehicle, the system rapidly raises and lowers regardless of mode or setting. It cycles continuously even when parked. The dealer acknowledges the behavior but reports no available service procedure or repair bulletin. 4. Sudden uncommanded acceleration when slowing to a stop (most dangerous issue) when decelerating below ~20 mph, the vehicle will suddenly rev to 4,000–6,000 rpm and lurch forward, requiring immediate and forceful braking to prevent collision. This happens in all modes (hybrid, electric, and e-save). T.
Right after the 73c recall, the high voltage battery is experiencing a drain while sitting. Typically the longer it sits after it has been charged, the more depletion it experiences. It is currently at the dealership for this problem. They charged it to 100% on a Friday and was not driven. By Monday, the high voltage battery was at 50%.
On 10/19/2025, my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe experienced a serious electrical malfunction. When I attempted to start the vehicle, it became stuck in run mode and would not shift into drive. The vehicle also would not shut off — even after pressing the start/stop button multiple times. The hybrid system remained active, and the dashboard stayed illuminated. The only way to power the vehicle down was to disconnect the 12-volt battery manually. This created a significant safety concern, as the vehicle could have remained running unattended or in an enclosed space. Afterward, the check engine light came on. The dealership later stated they “just reset the ecm,” but no explanation was provided for why the vehicle failed to shut off or shift out of park. This incident indicates a possible defect in the electrical, powertrain, or propulsion control system. It poses a safety risk to occupants and anyone nearby if the issue reoccurs.
2024 Jeep grand wagoneer l obsidian. Water intrudes into the left headlight assembly through a defective seal, destroying the led driver module (oem part #68590086ad) and burning the internal wiring harness connector. This has caused: (1) complete headlight failure while driving in winter conditions with passengers; (2) sudden loss of engine power while in operation; (3) battery failure with standing water found under the battery on the left side; (4) uconnect/radio/antenna/telematics failure (case open since 30,000 miles, unresolved). All failures traced to the same left-side water ingress point. Jeep case #94993514 and wagoneer connect case #94079691 both open and unresolved for 18+ months. Vehicle used for licensed medical patient transportation. Multiple roadside assistance calls. Total losses approximately $10,000.
The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact noticed on the mobile app, that the battery was charging every 3–5 hours. In addition, the contact stated that the failure had started immediately after a service appointment with the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the contact was informed that parts were not available to repair the vehicle. In addition, the contact was informed that a diagnostic test was needed, but because the parts were not available, the vehicle could not be repaired. The contact received notifications of NHTSA campaign number: 25v741000 (electrical system) and NHTSA campaign number: 25v766000 (engine); however, parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.
Battery system still malfunctions after both 73c and 68c were performed by dealer. After these "updates to software" my battery discharges to unusable levels. This occurs after a full charge and the vehicle sets for three to four days locked and parked. I have not had the use of my hybrid system now for over three months. I'm having to drive using engine only and getting only 22 miles to the gallon, well under the advertised on the window sticker mileage. Keeping in mind that the engine is also under recall, with sand in the engine, with no remedy in sight until second quarter of next year. Vehicle is totally unsafe to drive and my local dealer is trying to find a solution, however, stellantis has nothing in the works to fix the problems. I'm [xxx] and a failing vehicle could lead to my injury or death. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Sudden loss of power steering. After starting car, codes came up immediately for backup sensor needing service, then loss of power steering needing service, check engine light and flashing mileage on dashboard. Currently at dealership waiting for assessment.
On 7/14/25, while driving 70mph on interstate, vehicle shut off, displayed service hybrid electric system, then came back on like normal. Today, 9/19/25, driving 60mph on highway, vehicle shut off, displayed service hybrid electric system and would not turn back on. I had to come to a complete stop on berm, shift to park, and restart vehicle.
I was driving with my three children in the car (including a newborn) on Monday, September 15th and was in the drive thru at the bank when my Jeep just froze. I luckily had placed it in park but it would neither turn on nor turn off - it was locked and I couldn't do anything to it. Right before it died it said "service hybrid system" and while it was in the weird not on but not off state, the battery icon was illuminated - even though the car was on. I called stellantis for a tow because I was stuck - however they told me if they couldn't get it into neutral they couldn't tow it. After about 45 minutes the Jeep finally allowed me to turn it off and turn it back on, but I was terrified driving it home. My husband took it to findlay Jeep in post falls on Wednesday, September 17th to see what the error code was and they said something about a cooling system error for the hybrid electrical system. We are taking it to dishman Dodge on Monday September 22nd because that is the dealership we purchased from and they didn't have a technician who knew how to work on the hybrid system until then. I am also concerned about the current active recall for the propulsion system that has no current fix. I use this vehicle to carry my children around and now there are multiple safety concerns that can have lead to a fatal accident. I have filed a buyback request from Jeep because we have this vehicle on a lease - fca case #94280851.
I have this 2024 Grand Cherokee 4xe on lease and it has had multiple safety recalls since I have acquired this vehicle. The latest recall has no fix and can result in an engine fire. Not only do I not feel safe in this vehicle; I am unable to charge the battery b/c this can cause a fire. This negates the purpose of having this vehicle and paying a premium for it. Nhtsa campaign number: 25v741. Jeep’s current recall number is 68c. Prior recall numbers were 24v720 and 23v787. I am requesting an early termination of this lease w/o penalty. I have filed a complaint with the bbb and contacted stellantis directly and they refuse to take back the car due to a recall.
There is a safety recall on vehicle that manufacturer safety recall issued. There is no remedy. While reading all of the safety issues that come with this. This is not a great way to feel as you drive with fear vehicle may stop operating while you are driving and can cause an accident.
The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v766000 (engine); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part was not yet available for the recall repair. The contact then received a second notification for NHTSA campaign number: 25v741000 (electrical system). The contact stated that the hybrid battery failed to charge as needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that the part was not yet available. The contact also stated that the vehicle was unable to start at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue, and a case was opened. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The approximate failure mileage was 4,000.
This issue happened 3 times in a matter of 2 months. All 3 happened in 3 different intersections. While turning left in the intersection (oncoming traffic also turning left) the vehicle jerks to a full stop in the middle of the intersection with a "crash detected" message flashing on the dashboard screen. The vehicle stayed in drive and continued to drive after full stop the first 2 incidents. On the 3rd incident, the vehicle stopped completely, and would not continue to drive. The vehicle had to be put into park (even though it said it was in drive but did not drive) and put into drive again to continue moving. Other vehicles driving behind the grand wagoneer were required to slam on brakes to prevent impact of the grand wagoneer and had to wait for the grand wagoneer to begin driving again. Unable to drive this vehicle due to safety issues. The vehicle is currently in the shop under investigation.
On 2 ocassions the vehicle failed to execute a stop. The first was going down a mild hill at 20 mpg; I applied the brakes and the car started to slow and then the brakes felt like there was a shudder and released, and then engaged again and the car finally did stop. That same day on flat ground the same thing repeated. A second brake problem has occurred multiple times; likely 50 - 60 times. When braking and the car downshifts, the vehicle surges forward before slowing again, esp from 4th down to 3rd, of 3rd down to 2nd gear and 2nd to 1st. I have taken this to reed Jeep in my hometown of kansas city and not problem was identified. The car has been driven by others who also felt the same. These issues can put others at risk because they have occured when others are driving and they could injure a pedstrian or cause an mva when the car does not stop. I have ceased driving the vehicle because of this and the battery fire concern and the engine failure from sand concern.
