The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated. Additionally, while driving at slower speeds the braking system independently engaged and the vehicle came to a complete stop. The “service hybrid system” warning light illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken a dealer to be diagnosed; however, the diagnostic result was not provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacture was notified of the failure and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 18,000.

Hybrid Propulsion System problem #2

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 mph around a roundabout, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal before the vehicle stalled. Several unknown warning lights illuminated with an abnormal beeping sound coming from the vehicle. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road. The contact waited for a while and was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that an air bag sensor might have caused the failure. An unknown part was replaced. The contact stated that the message "service hybrid electric system" was continuously displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer; however, no cause for the failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer escalated the failure and contacted the engineering departing at the manufacturer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and filed a claim. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

The contact stated that after purchasing the vehicle brand new and driving to the residence, he became aware that the owner's manual was missing information for hybrid system operation. The dealer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the owner's manual was designed for the vehicle, the manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that the supplemental information for the hybrid system operation was available on the manufacturer's website. The failure mileage was approximately 75.
