5 Cooling Fan problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2005

1. Purchased car used in February 2005. Fan broke off in July 2005. Ran air daily in summer, no problems, then one day it just made a popping noise. There were pieces of the plastic fan on the ground, and a piece still under the hood. 2. I have a warranty, but it does not cover this vehicle. It overheats if I idle too long because there is no fan. To purchase a fan shroud from a Jeep dealer costs $370-400, not including labor. 3. Have not replaced fan/fan shroud yet.
