Tl-the contact owns a 2004 Jeep Liberty 4wd. The contact stated that while parking, the vehicle he placed the gear in park which failed to engaged properly allowing the vehicle to roll backwards. The contact managed to manually press the hand brake turn the steering wheel to the curb and engaged the emergency brake in order for the vehicle to stop rolling. Engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed and determined no updated engine module. No dealer was contacted. The contact mentioned that NHTSA 05v46000 as a possible solution to the failure that occurred. However, the VIN was not associated with the recall. The manufacturer was 140,000. Ck.
