I got a notice for a recall for the rear suspension two weeks a go, last week I made an appt with my dealership for Monday the 16th, but Sunday I was driving to work which is a mile aways going ten mph, I was getting ready to park, but then my front end started to rattle, then my steering wheel was shaken, then I heard a snap lost control of my vehicle, and struck a light pole in the parking lot of my work, I got out and me, the cop, my husband, my boss, my dad, the tow truck company was looking underneath my vehicle and the suspension control arm was snapped in half, a clean straight snap, and my lower ball joint was busted, it also caused damaged to my front end, knocked my front alignment out, it bent my rim up smashed my left lights, busted my struts, and the knuckle,my air bagged didn't deploy to low mile crash, my chest where the seat belt was is bruised, and I have a gauge missing on top of my hand where my hand got wrapped a round the steering wheel, there was a recall back in 2006 for this issue of the suspension control arm and lower ball joint which caused my crashed and the previous owner had it taken care of back in March of 2007, they think that it was another defected suspension control arm and ball joint put on, I also was telling the police and others I was planning on going on the highway when I got of work, if I drove on the highway when this happen I would of been dead, or what happens if my kids were in the vehicle or someone was crossing the street, I take these things very serious, and I'm not happy I got hurt because of someone putting another defect part on, and I told Chrysler, the dealership, and my insurance company I'm not paying for any of the damaged and for someone's neglect, someone really needs to get all these recalls and parts check, it seems to be alot of issues with Jeep Liberty, I love my Jeep but not the problems it's having.

My Liberty has 3 recalls, 2 having do with big safety issues- fire and tires detaching. I first called planet Dodge (miami, FL) for service appt. ; gave VIN and advised of recalls- surprise! when I arrived for my appointment; they said the parts were on back order! today I called tamiami Jeep to make an appointment and was told 1) it's very dangerous as tires may detach 2) they have some parts, but not some bolt, if that is required! question- if these are mandatory recalls and on such potentially safety compromising parts- how can the parts be on back order for 3 months!! (this will be my first visit to tamiami for service appt-but was already advised not all parts available- what's the use of making a appointment if they is a nationwide of a part to repair a recall? what happens if my tires detach or my car has "underbody fire" as per my most recent notice? I would appreciate a reply via email and I would like somebody to investigate how service departments can run out of parts that have mandatory recalls. I was not told at planet Dodge how serious this was and have been driving around waiting for the parts to arrive. (lower ball joint).

2006 Liberty less than 10000 miles lower ball joint failure.
(1) front right side of Jeep Liberty dropped down on tire (2) tire was flat and Jeep ran off road (3) investigator only looked for open pot-hole or construction and did not look for any defective situation. Ball joint defect was reported to public over 5 months later. I kept the tire which has unusual slicing through the inside edge with a few penetrations within that area and all perfectly lined up with each other. I took pictures of the tire assembly area in case there would be any indication of faulty parts. Investigator only sited tire hit something and blew out as told to me by the state farm claim agent. Follow-up of this case was rejected by same claim agent because ball joint is not available to inspect. My complaint to them saying they are not reviewing the evidence I did show them including pictures from the scene which I still think show if their was a failure of this nature or not. They have another claims agent looking into it now. Until they follow this up I consider this accident to be falsely reported to your agency.
