Airbag light randomly comes on while driving down the road.
My airbag light stays on all the time.
Airbag light randomly comes on while driving and the dealer quoted me $400 to repair. I have a 3 and 5 year old. I am concerned that if the air bags deploy while driving with my kids in the car, our lives would be in danger. This cost is also not money that I have just sitting around in a bank account.
The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Liberty. While the vehicle was stationary, the air bag indicator illuminated without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 161,403.
I've had my Jeep for 2. 5 years now. When I first got it, everything was fine and it was inspected prior to purchase. For the past year, the airbag light will come on and off on its own. At first it was intermittent, but for the past 6 months, it is constantly on when the vehicle is running. In addition, about 6 months ago, while driving about 25 mph on a dark, winding road, the horn started sounding and the windshield wipers began running at full speed. I put the car in park, turned it off and then on again, and it stopped. This has not happened again since.
Airbag light keeps flashing while driving. Jeep shakes as if unstable or struts the suspension and my visibility due to the defroster and wipers don't work properly.
This vehicle has had the sunroof leak, the heat shield bracket rusted/broke and came loose from the auto and hit the drive shaft, and the air conditioner does not blow out on the correct vents, the air bag light comes on and off,.
For the past three months the air bag light in my car has been coming on and off. Sometimes it will stay on for a couple days, other times it will only stay on for a couple minutes. My mother also has a Jeep Liberty and hers is doing the same thing. I do not know what triggers it to come on but typically it comes on when I am the only person in the car. I have had my car for less then 6 months so I took it in last week to have it looked at because I have heard of other Jeep Libertys having the same problem. The car dealership from which I bought my car from told me that it would cost me $459 for a new occupant restraint controller (even though I have had my car for less then 6 months and it is still under warranty). I personally believe that this should be looked into and it should be made a recall for Jeeps because I have heard this complaint from multiple people regarding their Jeep Libertys.
