This vehicle has a broken control arm. While the 2008 Liberty is not under recall the 2004-2007 Liberty is under recall for this same issue. I feel this recall should be expanded.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that when he had removed his tire to change the vehicle brake, he noticed the rear lower control arm was corroded through. The vehicle was taken to northtown Chrysler dealership located at 2020 niagara fall blvd, tonawanda, NY 14150 (716) 923-2105 where it was diagnosed that both rear lower control arm needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in recall and did not offer further assistace. The approximate failure mileage was 114,660. Aw.
2008 Jeep Liberty was in shop for unrelated repair. When left front strut was being unbolted from lower control arm, bushing in strut mount separated, so strut rod was not secured at all to body. Strut mount was moog brand pn k3190.
Left lower control arm replaced.
