Wiper problems of the 2008 Jeep Liberty - part 2

The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the skyslider roof of the vehicle failed to close completely. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis and the contact was informed that the arm and the cable had fractured and both would need to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure and current mileage was 59,000.

When vehicle is or is not in motion the vehicles lights,horn,turn signals,instrument gauges,and windshield wiper begin to malfunction and operate on its own squirting all the windshield wiper fluids,headlights flickering,horn honking on it's own and instrument panel gauges flicker and flashing,until either battery dies or battery becomes disconnected.

Upon opening skyslider passanger side of top did not open, when finally starting to open got stuc at first frame. Would not close properly. This needs to be recalled. Consumer should not have this many problems.

The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that while driving at moderate speeds, the windshield wipers, horn and door locks would activate independently. The contact stated that when the doors locked, no one could exit the vehicle. The vehicle manually had to be unlocked from the outside. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed no failures. The vehicle was then taken to an auto mechanic who was also unable to diagnose any failures. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 88,000 and the current mileage was 93,000.

While driving my Jeep Liberty, the wipers and horn came on suddenly and the entire electrical panel lit up. After taking it to the dealer several times, they finally determined it was the tipm module that needed to be replaced. The part was backordered. I have since found there is a national backorder (since 2010) with over 270+ in my area alone. The issue became progressively worse as I would get in my car and it would not start. Unlocking the vehicle appears to cause the automobile to engage something electrical (though I only open it manually - not with the keyless entry) which results in the vehicle acting as though it is already on. Most recently, while driving on the freeway at 70mph, I had a jolt before the wipers/horn went off and the emergency brake light was on. I believe the system is now engaging the emergency brake. I have discontinued driving the vehicle as a result. I believe this vehicle is a lemon. There are multiple complaints online with many other Jeep owners experiencing the same issues.

Takata recall sunroof has leaked since I owned it in '10 cleaned drains n it hasn't helped. . . My windows fog up due to moisture in car n can't keep them clear! heater has tore up from water leakage. . . . Water in wiring has messed my computer system up. . . . Took it to mechanic n they fave me 3pgs of codes it was showing. . . N refused to work on it! concerned about mold mildew in vehicle from moisture! heat shield fail off 6 yrs ago while driving down 4lane! my 4wheel drive has gone out. . . . I have several lites on my dash check engine abs 4wheel drive. . . Traction control. . . . I can't rem. The others and my tire sensor went out rite after I bought it that let's u know u r air is low! my big concern is the water. . . . I've gotten in my Jeep after a storm n there b 3in of water in my floor board! I'm concerned my cabin is goin to collapse!and the black mold with cause me harm! I spent all my saved money n paid cash for my Jeep when I bought it and can't afford another vehichle. . . . I used my divorce settlement money to provide me what I thought was a reliable vehicle and I've got screwed! I can't afford another one! when driving the water will suddenly fall from cabin on u and drowned u scaring u shocking u. . . . . This has nearly caused me to wreck! cuz u don't expect it to happen! wipers come on without turning them on. . . . There's so much I can't think of it all.

Almost 8 months after purchasing my vehicle the sunroof and back windshield started leaking water when ever it rained. I took the vehicle into the dealership and paid to have it repaired however it leaked again plus now the water has stained the material. Plus the electric has shorted out and this was repaired. A third time of the water leaking and replacing the seals has not helped. When the weather is bad we can not drive the car due to water leaking on to passengers plus afraid to drive the vehicle for fear of breaking down with electrical problems. This is the third Jeep that we have owned .

Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Liberty sport. The contact stated that the sky slider fractured and retreves air and does not seal properly and when its rains the sky slider leaks the contact also mentioned that the windshield wipers will not turn off when the contact turns it on. No warning light illuminated. The contact had the sky slider repaired 6 times under warranties at the dealer dutchess Chrysler Jeep Dodge 2285 south rd, poughkeepsie, NY 12601 (845)-243-5687 where it was diagnosed that the sky slider motor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure intermittently recurred multiple times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the part to dio the repair is not avible anymore. The failure mileage was approximate 48,000. Ck.
