Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problems of the 2009 Jeep Liberty

Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated when he put fuel into the vehicle it overflowed without being filled entirely full. The dealer (sam leman � 1801 w pioneer pkwy, peoria, IL 61615) diagnosed the vehicle and stated that fuel spits back when filled, the recommended fix is that the fuel tank assembly be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and informed that they do not have a recall for the VIN number and they could not do anything. The failure mileage was 171,556. Jc.

Each and every time I fill up my Jeep when the gasoline automatic pump dispenser shuts off I get splashed with gas and it goes all over me and my vehiicle. I called local Jeep dealer and they want to put new gas tank in at my expense!!!.

For the last 2 times when I feel up my Jeep the gas will spill back out all over me and the Jeep. Chrysler says I need a new gas tank but it was never wrecked or any other damage. I have seen on the internet other people is having this problem but they want me to pay for a new gas tank. Is there any recall on this Jeep.

Environmental & safety issue. Fuel spits back during fill. TSB issued (14-003-13) and warranty bulletin (d-003-13). Chrysler refused to cover repair expense due to mileage @ 95,000 (Chrysler case 24648948. Ground is saturated in gas every time I fill the tank and all over me. Do we have to wait for a gas station explosion before this is a recall? why hasn't nitsa gone after this environmental and safety issue?.

Gas tank will not shut off when fill point is reached. Took it to dealer, was told "warped tank" costs $1015. 00 for replacement ! obviously I am not the only owner with this problem. Dealer said part would be backordered because none were available & I should keep checking recalls because there must be a problem if no parts. This is my third Jeep. Might be my last.
