My boyfriend was looking at my Jeep back in may/June of 2018 to try to see if he could fix the ac. He disconnected the battery so that he could work behind the dash without risk of getting shocked for any reason, as well as the wiring to the 4 wheel drive switch so it would be out of the way while he worked behind the dash. When he went to reconnect the battery and the wiring for the 4 wheel drive, the vehicle got stuck in 4 wheel drive. We tried for what seemed like hours to get it to pop back to 2 wheel drive but nothing worked. We slowly drove it the few miles to bluebonnet Jeep in new braunfels, TX to have them look at it and fix the ac too while they had it. They had my Jeep for 2 weeks and nothing got done to remedy either issue until we had to physically go in and see what was going on. When we got there they hadn't worked on the Jeep hardly at all. They never did a diagnostic to see what the problem was with the 4 wheel drive and then tried to replace my transmission. We had to load the Jeep up on a trailer and haul it to another shop. That shop took apart my entire Jeep and followed all of the wires back to see what was wrong. That's when they found that components were missing from my Jeep to make it an actual 4 wheel drive. They made it so I can drive it but trying to fix the 4 wheel completely will be costly. I have expressed my concerns to Chrysler Jeep and basically they are telling me that I am going to have to pay more money for something that bluebonnet Jeep should have done in the first place before they will consider any type of action. The shop that looked at it and did the diagnostic has detailed notes and diagrams but that apparently is not sufficient. I don't believe that I should have to fork out the money to have the diagnostic done when Jeep is at fault for it not being done in the first place.
On occasion the right side of the speedometer will not light up. Contacted Chrysler about this issue for assistance but said that it was too old (the Jeep didn't leave the dealership lot till 2013 so 4 year old) took it in and they said the dash is failing. They also stated that the light are integrated in to the bored. The Jeep only has 40,000 miles on the odometer and should not be failing so early. This happens while moving or sitting. This is a safety issue due to not being able to see the speed and they came out and said the the dash is failing and needs to be replaced. I will add that a new cluster just for the part is $400.
