2002 Jeep Liberty that was totaled when the power steering went out customer states that she is now without transportation due to faulty parts and wants some kind of solution*
the consumer received 2 recall letters in the mail after her accident. Both notices stated that the vehicle needed to have the ball joints repaired. The consumer contacted the manufacturer and informed them of the accident Chrysler stated they were sending a representative out to investigate the vehicle. The consumer stated the representative assessed there was nothing wrong with the lower ball joint, airbags, or steering to cause the accident. The consumer further stated she spoke with the garage where the vehicle was located and stated no one ever came to check the vehicle over.

- the contact owns a 2005 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that it had rained on and off throughout the night and morninge while driving 15 mph down a road to make a right turn and suddenly the vehicle had no steering, it went over the median, and hit another vehicle and then bounced back into her lane. The vehicle hit the driver's side corner of the contact's vehicle. No police report was taken, but the police was called. The contact stated that there was a lot of front end damage done to the vehicle.

- on 01/07/04 while driving on a wet road at a speed of 25 mph the contact's vehicle rear ended another vehicle. The contact lost control of the steering wheel. During another incident the contact's vehicle was stopped behind another vehicle that was making a right turn. Once the vehicle turned, contact accelerated and suddenly the vehicle did a 360 spin, ending in a snow bank. At the time of the incident the road conditions were wet. In late February 2004 the contact experienced another incident, where the vehicle was going up a hill in wet conditions and as the vehicle rounded the curve at 40 mph contact lost control of the steering ,causing the vehicle to crash into a snow bank. On 03/09/04 contact took vehicle to the dealership in boise, id ,and they stated that the vehicle was fine, it just needed snow studs on the tires. On 04/05/04 while driving on a highway at 65 mph the vehicle became uncontrollable and steered toward the right side of a ditch, then going back into the highway at the same speed, and then going back into the ditch at 65 mph. At this point, the vehicle was in the ditch and hit the embankment of a driveway and catapulted off the driveway 20 feet into the air, where it hit a power pole head on. The vehicle caught on fire rolling over the a fence and continued to roll as it burned. The contact was unconscious, a bystander pulled the contact out the vehicle.

While turning during rainy weather the consumer would temporally lose steering control. The dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.

While driving at 35 mph, the consumer lost power steering. The vehicle rolled over three times. The Jeep was taken to the dealership but the problem had not been resolved. The consumer suffered injuries and was hospitalized. S. Kvaraitis was the driver.
Vehicle was hit above rear passenger tire and rolled over, total loss.
While driving electrical system stopped functioning ,causing the vehicle to lose brake power/power steering/lights, and engine stalling. Dealer has not determined the cause of problem.
