Four problems related to vehicle speed control have been reported for the 2007 Jeep Patriot. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
After getting gas. Vehicle stalls while running in drive without warning . This is going to kill someone pulling into traffic!! it takes about 3 startups and stalls than there is no issue until next gas fill up:.
Stalls out, gas tank won't fill up, the cvt transmission has almost killed us more than once. Can't go over 40 without it overheating and whining.
My vehicle started stalling when I was merging onto a busy highway. The electronic throttle sensor and stability sensor came on and I had to pull off on the shoulder of the road. The car was very hard to get to a stop. The breaks did not work very well and the car was jerking horribly. The car kept trying to die and would rev up and down by itself. It turned the car off and back on and it reset itself but it happened again.
Started as accelerator "flat spot. "under very light acceleration (intermittent)engine will fail to respond and sometimes stay at a low rpm or stall. I have to release pedal and reapply or restart the engine. Now problem is more obvious with rain causing rough engine idle, erratic idle speed and engine stall.
