Front Suspension Lower Ball Joint problems of the 2010 Jeep Patriot

Two problems related to front suspension lower ball joint have been reported for the 2010 Jeep Patriot. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Suspension Lower Ball Joint problem

Failure Date: 05/23/2014

Went to go look for new tires and was told both lower ball joints were bad. Right side was worse and not to drive before getting it fixed; it was that bad. In my 45 years of driving I have never had ball joint go this early. Ball joints went out before my first set of tires. There has got to be a serious problem for this to happen. It seems I'm not the only Jeep owner with this problem.

2 Front Suspension Lower Ball Joint problem

Failure Date: 08/24/2010

Went to get my annual oil change on my 2008 Jeep Patriot with only 42,000 miles on it. My mechanic called me at work and said my lower ball joint was about to fall out. Now the car is only 2 years old. I do alot of driving but no rough driving all highway driving. So I couldn't believe that ball joint would be bad after 42,000 miles. Now the bad part since it is out of warranty. I have to foot the bill for the replacement at over 450. 00. Don't think this is right but what you going to do.
