Two problems related to other fuel system tank assembly have been reported for the 2015 Jeep Patriot. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Two months ago my Jeep started bucking violently when driving after it sat for a month being driven maybe once a week. I refilled the tank with premium and it still didn't help. Took it to the shop and they couldn't find a problem. It stopped doing that for for about two weeks but now it stared doing it again. It does it when I'm am accelerating from a slow down and also once I get up to 60 on the highway.
When I fill my tank up with gas, my car will start bucking, often resulting in a stall shortly after. It doesn't matter if it's completely full or if I only put ten dollars in the tank. It is usually when I am slowing down or when I slow and then try to accelerate but never when I'm already slowed down, it's usually when I am going the speed limit it can be anywhere between 30-60mph. It has broken down twice on a major highway where I live called us 19 and I legitimately felt like I could have lost my life in both situations had other drivers not been paying attention, so many cars came close to hitting me I'm terrified to drive my car now. It also stalled several times on side roads with heavy traffic and once or twice on roads with not much traffic. I believed maybe it was the throttle body but it's not throwing any codes. Since it is usually when I put gas in, I'm now thinking it maybe be an issue with the fuel injector, some sort of sensor in the gas tank or something along those lines. It is currently at the dealership getting looked at but they are having a hard time recreating the issue, it really should be a recall before someone loses their life. I don't have kids or a husband but a lot of people on the forums I visit do and they are having this issue with a lot of different makes and models of Jeeps since 2014. . Read more...
