Throttle Control Warning Light On problems of the 2016 Jeep Patriot

I was driving on a road into work at no more than 40/45 mph. My car was at a slight incline when the electronic throttle control light and electronic stability control light came on, and my car powered down to a low level and wouldn't increase its speed. I pulled over to the side of the road, put the car in park and shut it off. I was able to start the car and drive the rest of the way, and the light didn't come back on again.

Vehicle throttle control lights comes on when car is in motion which will then slow down the vehicle which can cause an accident that you can no longer control the steering wheel. When that light comes one the engine light and traction control lights come on as well. When on the highway car will lose acceleration which again you can't pull over it will just stop. This is very dangerous and can cause death. I have read so many more of the same complaints something needs to be done about this.

Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Jeep Patriot sport fwd. The contact stated that while driving, the electronic throttle light, the electronic stability control off light and the malfunction indicator light illuminated when suddenly the engine stalled and lost power. The vehicle was towed to the independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that he electronic throttle control needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that no recall was associated with the vehicle and did not offer any further assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 35,790. Lt.
