36 Seat Belt problem of the 2014 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 09/15/2017

Leslie, a service advisor at absher arnold motors located in marion, illinois refused to perform a safety recall repair on my 2014 Jeep Patriot. She stated they could not get the part and that the part was being rationed out. this went on over a period of about three weeks. Upon contacting another area dealership (weeks in west frankfort) they had the part in two days and performed the recall repair the next day. I feel this matter should be looked into so that others aren't provided with this type of service and false information. Thank you.

There is recall to replace the occupant restrain controller on my car however when I call the dealer to schedule an appointment and get it replaced I was told that Chrysler has put a hold on the measure as a solution because replacing the part may do more damage than it already does and that for now they were just taking names down and will call back once the company has a better solution. My feelings of safety or constantly been tested as I have to travel daily and this is my source of transportation. I feel that 6 months has been long enough to wait for something to be done. Your company has not addressed this issue in a timely manner and no updates have been emailed or sent to me. I believe that for some reason I have been overlooked. I am still awaiting the parts needed with a list of available dates to get serviced in my community. Very disappointed in how this situation has been handled. 57 Seat Belt problem of the 2014 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 06/20/2017

In September of 2016 Jeep discovered a serious, possibly fatal risk potential associated with a sensor involved in restraining seat belts and deploying air bags "under certain impact conditions". As an owner, I was not apprised of this risk until June 20, 2017. Then, when I inquired about the availability of a repair to correct this lemon I was "informed", "advised" there was no repair available and such repair(s) may not be available for six months. I was given a vague estimate, and vague "assurance" I would be apprised of repair availability when ready. I asked, "should I bee driving this flaw?" they had no specific guidance. Seriously? accordinfly, I am invoking "lemon law" and demanding full liquidation of my existing auto loan at Jeep's expense. If they do not oblige, I shall seek civil suit damages by jury trial for added emotional pain and suffering coupled with their failure to fully-disclose potential fatal flaw for over six months to Jeep owners. I expect the NHTSA to manage this claim. Period. What a mess. What country is this? is anyone watching and protecting consumers? I expect the NHTSA to force Jeep to immediately undertake a full buyback program no later than July 1, 2017. Period.

58 Seat Belt problem of the 2014 Jeep Patriot

Failure Date: 06/16/2017

Important safety recall s61/NHTSA 16v-668 notice was received from fca on 11/15/2016. As of 6/16/2017, the recall status incomplete but repair parts are not available. It does not seem reasonable that an important safety defect has gone so long without a fix by the company. The description of the risk safety defect/non compliance description and safety risk: the vehicles may experience loss of air bag and seat belt pretensioner deployment capability in certain crash events due to a shorting condition resulting in a negative voltage transient that travels to the occupant restraint controller via the front impact sensor wires. The potential loss of air bag and seat belt pretensioner deployment capability in such crash events may increase the risk of injury in a crash. Repair description: the occupant restraint controller must be replaced. Fca needs to either provide fixes very soon, or replace the vehicles.
