I am driving down the road and the vehicle goes into neutral and the engine turns off. I then have to stop the vehicle and restart it. When I hit the starter button. It sputters and then starts. This has been happening irregularly 1-3 times a week since it started in December of 2025. With last time happening being on 2/16/2026.
Low oil pressure indication light came on and then off. Vehicle taken to Jeep, they informed us that the 2. 4l engine was consuming oil which led to internal damage to engine. Service associate claims Jeep had a recall on this specific problem with this specific engine.
Unknown.
Driver sun visor does not stay up. This is a very common occurrence with all Jeep Renegades, of all years. This is a safety issue because it either hangs in the line of sight of the driver, or, the driver is blinded by the sun. Jeep quotes the repair from $600-2800. How can they request this of every Renegade driver and not issue a recall?.
In January 2023 and April 2023, a recalled was serviced on. The recall of w80 oil consumption inspection. Was performed twice. So many times I have put the 2015 Jeep Renegade in the service shop countless times. I was in the shop for over a month the oil pressure light comes on every 5 to 30 seconds. I have taken it to another service shop however, they suggest I take it back to the original service shop who original service the Jeep.
Battery went dead, vehicle was jump started as per guide protocol, then vehicle would not shift out of park. Had to use emergency towing and release the shift with the shift lever override as described in the manual. Vehicle will now only go into gear with screwdriver, but it still will not recognize it is in gear and will not move. Warning lights of service transmission. Battery changed, vehicle is just sitting, there is no explanation as to what to do, dealerships have no clue. Vehicle will roll and cause an accident if not propped behind the tires. Through Jeep forum, it is noted that this is an ongoing issue with this specific year/make/model. The "fix" is over $2000, it should be a recall and the manufacturers responsibility since it is a known issue. Jeep used to be a reliable, dependable brand, unfortunately, this is the last one we will ever own.
Cap-less fuel tank is broken, I was pumping my gas and pulled the exterior part off the cap-less fuel tank and it came right off. That should not happen.
Vehicle was parked for a couple of hours on neighborhood street. Owner entered vehicle, shut driver door and then back windshield spontaneously shattered.
It mostly happens in the morning. While I’m driving to work which is less than 5 minutes away from where I live. The car would just shut down while I’m driving, lights would flicker and the car will stop. I would have to wait a few minutes or more to restart the vehicle and the drives normal. I bought the car from carmax in may or June 2021. They told me there were no recalls. I look up the problem I’m having and found a previous recall about the same issue, on the same year, make and model. Need help.
Outside temperature sensor fail in temperature under 31 degrees which causes check engine light to come on and disables four wheel drive to engage while driving in snowy conditions. Took Jeep to dealership repair cost $600 for a vehicle I’ve only owned for 25 days with 51,000 miles, they informed me that later down the road I will have to repeat this process again because this is a very common expensive problem in Jeep forum.
While I was in the vehicle putting a 5 month old child in the car seat I had the door open. My wife was putting stuff in the passenger side door. Not thinking she got the remote start to cool the car off. Obviously the car wouldn’t start because the doors open. She tossed the keys in the center console like she normally does and shit the passenger door. I shit the drivers side rear door after placing the child in the car seat. All doors are locked and the keys are in the car. Unable to gain entry since we are not at home. 911 was called and police and fire showed up promptly and gain entry. The child is fine but we feel this should be addressed. I have been able to recreate the situation multiple times.
I parked my car in the garage on a Monday got ready to go the very next day car started but wouldn't go in gear and the dash board was saying service engine and transmission there was no warning any time before.

Vehicle VIN: zaccjabt0fpb53249, Jeep Renegade, 57000 miles I purchased a Jeep Renegade for my wife at dennis eakin in killeen. To make a long story short, the dealership ran into a VIN error that we were told was fixed, but it never was because we remain having issues with insurance. I work in law enforcement and looked up NHTSA documentation that says the dealership should contact the manufacturer upon finding a discrepency and apparently this was never done. The dealership also told us the Jeep was in a minor accident and we found out the crash was worse than minor, the vehicle has electrcal issues and only one key fob. We were promissed another key fob made, but have just got the runaround since purchase. The vehicle will not lock sometimes and we are worried it will not unlock during an emergency. The vehicle continually tells us the key fob is not in the vehcile while driving and while stationary. The Jeep also has transmission issues we were never told about. The dealership will not respond to these issues and I need to find someone to help. I have gone up there and spoke to the manager at sales and at parts/service. They told me several times they would call me back after getting my information, but nothing has been done. Dealership location: dennis eakin - 5200 e. Central texas expy in killeen 76542, ph. My Jeep Renegade stalls when I make a slow speed turn. While making a left turn to get on the on ramp to a lah, the car dies. I almost got hit from behind by people trying to go up the on -ramp behind me. The car dies when making a left turn crossing traffic & I almost got killed. The traction control light blinks. These incidents take place on dry pavement. I now see other people having the same issues are posting complaints on the internet on a Jeep forum. Why has Jeep / fca not addressed this ? this is a safety hazard as the car dies for no reason and you can not move the car. There should be a re-call on this. There are documented problems with this & nothing is being done! my car shuts down for no reason.
My check engine light came on and the thermostat light continued to rise until my car shut down. After letting it sit for about 5 minutes it started again. The engine light remained on and if I idle at all the thermostat climbs. I took it to my mechanic and he told me it was listed as a recall as the engine overheats and faulty cooling system. I haven't seen a recall but have seen similar complaints.
My 2015 Jeep Renegade has a defect . The key has gotten stuck in the ignition numerous times since I first bought it new. It is an ongoing safety issue. I can't just walk away from my vehicle whenever this happens because it can get stolen. I still don't know how to fix this problem though I try everything, even starting the car again and driving it around for a little longer. Even the car service personnel have complained that they can't get the key out.
Doors will not lock / unlock with key fab. Lights flash as if locking but dont lock. Jeep remains open and vulnerable to theft without you knowing.
Returning home on highway christmas day. Car would not accelerate. Was stuck in a low gear. Had to be towed home. ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.
My oil change is not even due and I get alarm of low oil, when this happened the vehicle stops, and don't start, I was turning and it just stopped I culd had been hit by any car coming.
Shifter/gear on 2015 Jeep Renegade is stuck in park. Cannot take car out of park. Car starts but cannot move it due to gear shirt being stuck in park. This may be a manufactors defect. Check VIN but no recalls came up. Our mechanic mentioned there may be a recall on this car due to faulty shifter.
The ignition when turned off will not release the key. Pushing in then out does not release. Pulling only does not release. Car must be turned on/off several times and you will eventually get lucky. Additionally, when trying to start vehicle, key will often not turn in the ignition despite wheel not being locked. Again, must put in pull out repeatedly and turn wheel, which is difficult when car is off, and eventually get lucky.
This Jeep with approximately couple months of purchase the whole computer system went blank and had to be replaced. There was also a recall for some part. Then then the battery and some other part had to be replaced. Soon after the engine mount. Then the vehicle overheated and had to be towed to the dealer. Now again the coolant system is over heating again, took it to pep boys and they can't seem to detect the problem I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow. But we received a letter over a year ago stating that this model of vehicle is back in warranty since there seem to be a problem with those vehicle. Now I hope I can get this letter to take to the dealer. This happens when the vehicle is in motion.
I am on the freeway in traffic at a full stop, and the car doesn't turn off, but it won't move when you put your foot on the gas. Makes no noise like it is off. Have to put in park and restart the car. It has done this 3 times since I have had the car.
"takata recall". My key keep getting stuck in ignition and my Jeep will not go into any gear. It will sometime crank, but it take forever to get the key out. My Jeep is still new and it is my own means of transportation. It is at 40 thousands mile. . No matter what I do I can not get it to leave out of park.
I got up to get ready to go to choir rehearsal my Jeep would not crank, and the key was stuck in the switch, it took almost 30 minutes to get the key out, finally the Jeep cranked but I could not get the gear to go into reverse, drive or nothing, and on the dash board where it tells you how many miles you have on the automobile it was blinking and also on the dash board it say service transmission. . I have read on your site as I was searching to find out why this is happening, so many of these Jeep seem to do this when they reach 40 thousand miles. I am grateful that I was not on the road because the day before this happen the Jeep seem to have lost speed ifor a brief moment, this is very dangerous something need to be done about this.
It was working fine then out of no where the transmission light came on and all the emergency lights started flickering. The shift gear won't move and it won't accelerate when its in drive. Car shakes when shifting gears.
There is a terrible under carriage noise as if one of the welds didn't hold. I took it to a repair shop and they said that the pan under the car was making noise and I would have to take it to the dealership. It was not damaged by anything, it just started making this noise.
Was driving to newnan, GA on highway when car jumped into neutral causing car to slow almost ending in a rear-end collusion. I am a cancer patient and drive from brooklet, GA to newnan GA for treatment. Also was told my vehicle is recall due to the coolant system not working properly.
My garage has a slight incline. When I put the car in reverse, it jerks back and forth until I apply the brakes. Also when it shifts into second gear, I feel a slight hesitation and a hear a clunking sound.
There's is no alternative to the windshield and Jeep has them on backorder since 2018. It's been over a month and Jeep cannot provide release date. This is a huge safety and visibility issue.
9 speed autonamic transmission - can shift into neutral with no warning - can cause an accident and even death - I drive everyday in san antonio texas where speed liit is 60 mph to 75mph.
I was driving my vehicle when I was getting notifications on my dashboard of different things from torque to transmission. The vehicle then suddenly stalled while I was in the middle of the road. I was at a red light thankfully. I turned my vehicle off/on, then as put the vehicle in drive, I could hear a loud bang and then I drove into a parking lot.
Car shifted into neutral from drive. Happened while I was exiting starbucks into traffic.
Vehicle shut down after taking a left turn and when stopping at a stop sign.
