The contact stated that after reversing the vehicle, the rearview camera image remained on the display screen while the vehicle was shifted into driving and being driven. After stopping the vehicle, the display screen went blank. The rearview camera later became delayed and failed to display an image immediately while reversing. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the rearview camera data had failed. The contact was unaware of the necessary repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 136,000.
