Six problems related to other fuel system pump have been reported for the 2018 Jeep Renegade. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
When driving downhill 55 mph at an approximate altitude of 5500ft on hwy 80 west in wyoming, my vehicle completely lost all power, engine shutdown and dashboard message said shift to park. Very scary and dangerous situation that I was able to control. I proceeded to park the vehicle on the side of the hwy and shifted to park. I waited for about 15 minutes not knowing what to do. I decided to turn the engine on, which it did, shifted to drive, and drove to the nearest hwy exit. I do not know the exact cause of the issue, but it seems, base on other owners report's that the problem is caused by a failure in the engine fuel pump and/or voltage regulator which it makes sense. Please investigate and recall the issue before someone dies.
Engine stalling saying shift into park. I had it towed to dealership and they are saying my oil is dangerously low. I had an oil change Wednesday April 1st and have noticed no oil leaks. This has to be the fuel pump causing this.
When attempting to accelerate from a stopped position on a driveway the car stalled and the onboard display read "shift into gear". A full loss of power to the engine and transmission occurred. Car had to be restarted to resume driving of the vehicle. The restart was very rough, as if it needed gas. Stall could have caused loss of life or injury if it would have occurred in traffic. This is the fourth time it has occurred. Other vehicles of the same make and model have a recall for a faulty fuel pump and/or power train control module but mine doesn't.
I have had car about two months and it keeps stalling on me and I got almost into an accident because it stalled on a busy street and traffic was coming . Jim click Chrysler into sun arizona they say it's the fuel pump but other things are going on with the car to like the radio and it keeps turning off and the screen for the back up camera turns off on its own so I think there's more going on that car and I'm disappointed in Jeep for making a car that could cause an accident I have to think of the safety of my kids.
8 days after purchasing the car, with around 250 miles on it the car stalled in a the middle of the road. I was going about 25 mph. It stopped accelerating, started shaking, and then the engine died completely. I put it in park and turned it back on, as soon as I put it back in drive it died again. It died 5 times trying to get to the side of the road. I brought it into the dealership and they told me that they couldn't replicate the issue and when I mentioned the open recall they stated my VIN was not part of it and sent me on my way. A few weeks later it stalled again in the middle of the road coming to a stop light, going about 20 mph. It stopped accelerating, started shaking, and then the engine died completely again. I brought it back in to the dealership, again nothing. The third time it happened I was driving about 40-50 mph, it stopped accelerating, started shaking, and then the engine died completely. They finally replaced the fuel pump, still said it wasn't the recall though. It hasn't happened in the 1500 miles since they replaced it.
My vehicle is stalling out while in motion when turning onto a city street on multiple occasions. The vehicle will still be on, but pressing on the gas does nothing. The vehicle is in gear when this happens. I am worried it may be a fuel pump as I just purchased the vehicle in October 2018.
