My car suddenly caught fire while driving on the freeway. I heard a boom, felt my car shake and saw flames out my back window, I pulled over immediately and got out of the car. Going around the passenger side to inspect my tires and car. As in doing this I noticed that the entire car by then underneath was completely consumed in flames. I ran from the car in fear of my safety. My car burned to the ground in front of my eyes. There were no warning lights on my dash, no flashing, no indication of anything wrong.

I am driving down the road and the vehicle goes into neutral and the engine turns off. I then have to stop the vehicle and restart it. When I hit the starter button. It sputters and then starts. This has been happening irregularly 1-3 times a week since it started in December of 2025. With last time happening being on 2/16/2026.

The infotainment system in my 2021 Jeep Renegade has failed and was diagnosed by an authorized Jeep dealership as an infotainment (info center) failure. The display frequently blacks out, shows lines, and becomes distorted, preventing access to essential vehicle controls including navigation, climate control, and radio functions. More critically, the backup camera randomly activates while the vehicle is in drive, causing the screen to unexpectedly switch from the normal driving display to the rear?view camera. This occurs while driving forward and creates driver distraction and confusion. To correct the issue, I must pull over, turn the vehicle off completely, and restart it. Additionally, when the backup camera does appear, the distance guidance is unreliable and does not consistently display accurate spacing, increasing the risk of collision. This defect interferes with driver visibility, situational awareness, and safe operation of the vehicle. The malfunction occurs unpredictably and represents a serious safety concern. The manufacturer has been unable to repair the issue due to unavailable parts, and multiple vehicles are reportedly affected.

I am submitting a safety complaint regarding my 2021 Jeep Renegade. In cold weather, the driver’s door will not latch shut and can open by itself while driving. The door may appear closed but fails to remain secured, creating a significant safety risk. An authorized Jeep dealership inspected the vehicle and confirmed moisture intrusion affecting the latch and release cable. They recommended replacement with updated components. This failure aligns with stellantis technical service bulletin (TSB) 75567, which addresses latch issues. I have opened a case with stellantis (case #95335285) and have repeatedly sought resolution. However, I have been unable to obtain help or speak with a case manager, leaving the issue unresolved. No repair has been performed yet. Since a door that does not remain closed is a serious safety risk, I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in reviewing this safety concern. Thank you for your attention.
While driving in traffic on the freeway, my car began to shake, like driving was a struggle. Then, the car stalled and stopped working, with the display still lit and the car still in drive. Traffic was moving at about 15 miles per hour. I had to hold the brakes to prevent my car from rolling backwards into the cars behind me. I shifted the car into park. I turned the car off and back on, and it jolted into movement again. This stall lasted for about 30 seconds. A second attempt at restarting the car got it turn back on. No warning signs were displayed alerting me to a problem. My car was recently tuned up and no problems were reported. From research, the issue seems consistent with a fuel pump malfunction.

While driving the moving vehicle on 3 occasions my vehicle has stalled out with me driving it, however there is a recall online for the same year, make and model of my vehicle for the same exact problems I am experiencing and I am being told that there are no recalls for my VIN. This is a problem since (let me repeat myself) online a recall for same year, make and model experiencing the exact problems with vehicle stalling and shutting off while driving. This is a serious issue and I keep getting the run around from Jeep corporation not insuring the safety of their vehicles and the people that own them.

Low oil pressure indication light came on and then off. Vehicle taken to Jeep, they informed us that the 2. 4l engine was consuming oil which led to internal damage to engine. Service associate claims Jeep had a recall on this specific problem with this specific engine.
Head unit for the radio has gone blank. Soft and battery reset did not restore function. Unable to use back up camera.
Touchscreen radio delamination issue renders touchscreen unusable to use or control any and all settings, bluetooth unresponsive, siriusxm and fm radio random station change with no control, maps and gps, phone, emergency services alerts, climate control, safety settings, interior and exterior lighting controls, all no longer accessible or functioning.
It began with vehicle warning lights, several, illuminating. They did not illuminate at exactly the same time (such as when a car stalls) they illuminated consecutively I. E airbag disabled, followed by, blind spot sensors unavailable, front collision, lane departure, power steering temporarily unavailable, park assist, lane departure. . . All unavailable. Finally, the check engine light. Driving 65 mph until the transmission decided to no longer shift properly, which resulted in driving 45 in an 70 mph zone. Turned off vehicle and restarted, it was fine for 50 miles and began the dashboard light show again, followed by almost stalling at a toll booth. It has been "repaired" 3 times in 3 months, by Chrysler Jeep . Including a new bcm. I believe this 2017 Renegade either was not recalled during the original recall in 2017 or 2018, was not repaired, or was repaired improperly. Everything else operates properly. My vehicle is in great shape. I have video documentation of these things happening. No photos though. I do have documentation from Chrysler Jeep, just not with me at the moment.
I purchased a used 2016 Jeep Renegade from a dealership located in chicago, illinois, on October 12, 2025. The seller assured me that the vehicle title was available and promised to mail it to me the day after the purchase, since I live in nebraska and could not return in person to pick it up. It has now been more than three weeks, and the dealership has not delivered the title, now claiming that the auction has not yet provided it. The vehicle is currently in my possession, but I am unable to register or legally use it due to the missing title. The dealership only provided a “bill of sale” as proof of purchase. In addition, the seller offered a 30-day warranty for a transmission issue, which began showing problems again before the warranty expired. However, the dealership refuses to issue any refund, stating that it “does not make returns. ” I believe this situation poses a risk to consumer safety, as the vehicle was sold without a valid title and with a significant mechanical issue that could affect its operation. I request that the dealership be investigated for possible violations of vehicle sales laws and consumer fraud.
Screen has bubbling starting to appear on it, ghost touch is activating every button on the screen. Doesn’t stop when restarted and causes for navigation system to be hindered. This is a safety hazard because it is spreading across the screen and could potentially cause navigations and air conditioner system lost. When pressure is applied, stops momentarily.

The uconnect / touch screen display is constantly glitching- I can’t see anything other than striped lines and colors and/or a pitch black screen. I cannot use the rearview camera because of this, which creates a safety concern when backing up/reversing due to limited visibility without the rear view camera function. This problem has occurred with many other owners of the same vehicle (see posts online). The vehicle hasn’t been inspected but others had theirs inspected and claimed they were quoted $1,500+ for the screen repair, and even after repair, the screen malfunctioned again in a few weeks. The first sign of the issue was when I saw a thin, vertical green line through my touch screen, but it didn’t affect the visibility or usability of the screen so I thought nothing of it.
The console back up screen malfunctioning.
Stereo head unit screen went black. It started "glitchy" with streaks but eventually went black. No use of the rear back up camera or any functions on the head unit. . . Climate control, radio, setting, etc. I have seen online that this is common and I do not think it is right for a consumer to spend well over a 1000 to replace it. This is not a "wear" part. Disapointed in the quality of components in my Renegade.

My 2016 Jeep Renegade (36k miles) keeps dying suddenly, sometimes when parked and sometimes while driving. My battery and alternator work like they should. No warning signs occur before the car dies. It usually requires a jumpstart before it's able to run again. 1. It's not teh battery because if the battery was bad it would not die while driving as it's running on alternator. 2. It's not the alternator as I tested it by letting the car run and disconnecting the batter while it was running. It continued to run which indicates that the alternator works just fine. I looked up the symptom on the internet and found that many other Jeep reneage owners complained online about the same issue. This is a major safety hazard as all power steering is lost when the car shuts off which could lead to accidents when it occurs while driving.
I was driving down the road and my latched my sky roof panel flew up in the air while I was driving. Thankfully it stayed attached to the latch and I pulled off the road quickly so the entire panel did not fly off into traffic. I was also only driving 35 miles per hour so that helped too.
I’m reporting suspicious activity: inaccurate vehicle service records reported by flagship Chrysler bayamón. Every time my Jeep Renegade, VIN [xxx] , has been serviced by flagship Chrysler bayamón—four times in total—the information reported to carfax has been inaccurate : 1. 12/02/2023 - 12/05/2023: right front seat buckle replaced under warranty. Invoice [xxx]. per carfax report dated 07/02/2025 vehicle serviced “tire condition and pressure checked”. 2. 12/21/2024: oil and filter changed, maintenance inspection performed, and motor care product applied. Invoice [xxx]. Per carfax report dated 07/02/2025 vehicle serviced “oil and filter changed” and “tire condition and pressure checked”. 3. 06/30/2025: oil and filter changed, maintenance inspection performed. Ro number [xxx]. Per carfax report dated 07/02/2025 vehicle serviced “oil and filter changed” and “tire condition and pressure checked”. 4. 07/01/2025: safety recall; seat belt buckle switch connector repaired. Not available in carfax report dated 07/02/2025. this ongoing lack of accuracy and transparency is not only suspicious, but it also directly impacts my vehicle’s value and reliability. As the owner, I have always gone above and beyond to keep my Jeep properly maintained, and I expect that commitment to be reflected in official service records. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Radio needed replacement, transmission was replaced under lease contract, rack & pinion replaced, steering & suspension r/f axle replacement needs to be done, part is on back order until September 2025-this is very dangerous. There should be recalls on the above is the part is on back order there are many issues with this these parts. This car has too many issues its only a 2020.
No oil change light, no engine light. Excessive oil consumption engine metal to metal brakes.
Sunroof got stuck open and when inspected at a body shop it was found to have several broken parts inside the mechanism. Sunroof was rarely used and was not handled roughly ever. No warning was given that the sunroof was broken or needing attention until it completely malfunctioned. It is apparent this has been an expensive and recurring problem with Jeep Renegades for others as well.
My car continues to shut off while you're driving down the road. Then it won't start for a little bit!.
While driving, my Jeep has shut off multiple times. When it comes back on it just says “service power steering” and doesn’t have anything come up when diagnosing.
Radio screen has completely gone out. The inability to use the backup camera causes safety concerns.
Unknown this vehicle shuts off while in drive when it says it needs an oil change or if the oil is low. It doesn't even give you the warning before, it just shuts off while your driving. This has happened to me many times where I've almost been in an accident. Most recently today when in my kids school drop off line. It just completely shut.

Unknown.
The forward screen which displays the backup camera has failed. It sound it’s like it is a common issue but unfortunately changing just the screen is unavailable so the entire unit must be changed for over $1000.
The uconnect screen is black, therefore I can use backup camera and see anything on the screen.
Unknown. Bought a 2018 Jeep Renegade, brand new and about 4-5 months ago, the screen started glitching. Sometimes, it only shows 1/3 of the screen, and there is a constant beeping as the screen switches between apps and stations. In other words, the screen is faulty, and it sometimes affects the reading of the digital speedometer. My car has only about 84k miles. I understand many others are experiencing similar issues with their 2018 Jeep Renegade.
The screen for the control panel is going out. I have researched online and at least 100 other people are having the same issue. This screen plays a big part in the safety features available on the vehicle. I believe that Jeep should look further into this issue. If it were one or two vehicles, yes, that's isolated. The fact remains s that is an issue that begins at the factory.
My display screen started messing up and now it's completely black. It comes and goes from messing up to going black. I read that a lot of Jeeps display screens are doing this and they're charging $1700- $2200 to fix it. Too many people Jeeps are doing this around the world, it has to be a recall issue.
I drove for about 45 minutes and when I went to back up into a parking spot, the lettering from the main screen was visible on the screen while backing up.

All of my warning/service lights came on, my car wouldn’t accelerate, one of the warning lights said it had to be in stop to brake and start, my dash won’t light up which shows my fuel levels, other info. My car stopped in traffic completely, I had you out my four ways on, hit the start/stop button. It was so scary!.
