“swollen lug nuts” a known issue as noted by dealer mechanic. I’ve replaced some or all going on 3 times. If I have flat on interstate I cannot remove and replace a tire. This is a safety concern. .

The component that failed is the wheel lug bolts. The cap of each of the 20 lug bolts is of a metal alloy that expands under normal driving conditions, making it impossible to remove the lug bolts by an ordinary operator in the event of a tire failure. The car dealership identified this problem during tire rotation service and stated that the problem oem lug bolts are endemic to Jeep vehicles. This was the first instance that I was aware of this problem. The dealership require the consumer to pay for replacements wholly made of steel. Mopar charges over $11/lug bolt. The cost of a full set of 20 lug bolts is over $200. Why doesn't the manufacturer or dealer recall and replace the lug bolts at no cost to the consumer?.
I took the vehicle in for oil change and tire rotation on may 5th, 2023. Dealer could not remove wheels, as the lug nuts on all 4 wheels were in a swollen state. Dealer mentioned that this is a known design defect in many Chrysler vehicles, and it would cost me $233 to have them replaced. Pls see attached screenshot. At this point, if I had a flat tire, I will not be able to replace it, as I am not able to remove the lug nuts. Ticket 86109919 was opened with Jeep. Com on may 8th, 2023. Customer service has advised that they will not cover the cost of replacing these lug nuts, even if it's not a product that falls under the 'wear and tear' category. Please help in making this a product to be recalled and repaired at fca's expense.

The driver side seat belt failed immediately after first impact to concrete barrier on front driver side the vehicle was then forced back across the highway where it hit the concrete barrier on the right side of the vehicle and was then forced back across the highway where the vehicle came to a stop but only after the vehicle hit the first concrete barrier for a second time there was only one wheel/tire left on the Jeep the other 3 were broke completely off of the Jeep as well as both axles being broke and finally this vehicle comes with a total of seven airbags and after all this not even one of them deployed and as a result my wife was seriously injured there was a police report which reflects my wife was declared not at fault. The vehicle was then towed to crash champions in nampa idaho where they figured that there was over $18,000 in damages our insurance company declared it a total loss so when it came time to pay the claim our insurance company was valuing the vehicle way less than it was actually worth and then they said we did not have medical on the policy then they called up Chrysler finance and tried to get them to accept a payout without my knowledge well that didn't work for them then they told Chrysler that I wanted to retain the vehicle which was a lie all I wanted was for someone to come by and inspect the vehicle then they could've done whatever they wanted to with it I've called the numbers in my owners manual opened up a complaint followed up with them for over a year and they never got back to me also I've been back to the dealership 5 times now and finally met the new manager and informed him of the situation and it's very hurtful inside to know that you've been ignored well here we are a little over 18 months now since the crash and the Jeep is still sitting in my driveway what else can I say,OH yeah I'm pissed.

The lug nut wrench doesn’t fit the lug studs due to the shiny cap on each stud. I had to use a hammer to force the wrench on to the studs in order to remove them. I replaced all studs with aftermarket studs without any beauty cover allowing a 17 mm wrench to remove the studs.
The wheel lug nuts are ballooned. This makes it impossible to remove the wheel without breaking the wheel stud. This is apparently a common problem with some Jeep models. I was told this on my last two visits for service at the clovis, CA Jeep dealer. On both visits, they were unable to rotate the tires. On my last visit, 10/06/2022 (53,231 miles on the odometer), I ordered at my expense a full set of wheel studs (20) to solve the issue. The parts have still not arrived. This is my teenage daughters car. This is a safety defect because if she gets a flat tire they will not be able to change the tire. Jeep should have recalled all known vehicles that might have this issue and replaced the wheel studs a long time ago.
I was driving in right lane,40-45mph, heard a very loud bang (not a tire), front end of Jeep lifted up, then began veering to the right heading off the road. I was unable to break or turn steering. Next thing, I woke up from being knocked out, hit a pole, 3 witnesses heard the bang as well - one witness told police, all 3 air bags went off. Emergency services were summoned. Car totaled. Pole is still standing upright. Fortunately I did not die or get seriously injured. Emergency services said if I had hit the tree next to pole, the outcome of my injuries would have been totally different. Car was towed to auto repair center and they had never seen collision damage such as this. Insurance company notified. Police report made at time of accident. No driver citations. A few days later I contacted Jeep company, told them they needed to send someone out to look at this damage, because someone is going to die! they had a third party come out to the collision repair shop and get black box information/examined vehicle. A few days later, I received a carefully worded letter from Jeep that they saw no suspension or steering issues to be the reason for the accident. Only the bang, vehicle uplift on right side, hitting pole. No warning lights were on. This car was purchased new in 2/2018. I just hit the 30,000 miles, new tires on vehicle for 3 months and had only 2,000 miles of usage on them. The vehicle was in excellent condition and always maintained 100%. Even the farmer's insurance inspector stated car was in showroom condition. Rim broke in half along inner seam, no blowout evidence, tie rod broke in half, ball joint shaft inside of the knuckle (broke inside of it), pivot still in lower control arm. Have photos/police report/pics. No other vehicles involved. Husband had to help tow truck driver slide the suspension under vehicle to tow it. I can send upon request insurance company docs and letter from Jeep upon request.
I was driving on i95n towards richmond va. The lights on dashboard illuminated telling me my tire pressure was low. I pulled over and checked my tire and it was flat. There was no nails. The tire is a defect from the manufacturer. I have enclosed pictures of the brand. As you can see in the pictures the tire thread is not from wear and tare. I still have the tire in my back seat. I called a tow truck. Purchased a used tire. I will be calling the manufacturer on Monday July 14. I was on the highway and in motion when this happened.

Bearings on front right and left tires wore down extremely quickly with normal driving (no off road driving). Both had to be replaced on 4th year of owning vehicle.

When I started my Jeep this morning it started shaking really bad and the service engine light came on. The shaking stop so I chanced it to work. It felt like it was losing power and would rattle a little. Anytime I made a turn it felt like the Jeeps tires were sliding. It's taking a lot longer to pick up speed and seems to be forcing itself into gear. In the last few days though my lights have been flickering while driving and even the radio went out for a few hours. The outlets (old cigarette lighter outlets ) stop working too. Don't know if it's related to the rest but it did oddly start in the same time frame.
Went to mavis tires for a tire rotation 1/28/20 after leaving the Chrysler/Jeep dealership for transmission fluid change told 9 speed sealed never needs anything . The guys at mavis said that my lug bolts were swollen and that they could not do the work and that I needed to go to the dealership and have them replaced because only Chrysler / Jeep make the part. My Jeep has only 49,800 miles and the mavis guys told me that I needed lug replacements back in November 2019 , I have owned many cars and trucks in the past and never had to replace lugs bolts on a vehicle with such low miles on it . They checked it both stationary and in motion to make sure they are on properly the guys at mavis also told me when I requested an alignment that they tested drove it first and told me it didn't need one but I felt it roll more to the right that was in 8/2019 so now with four new tires first in 8/20219 for two then 10/2019 which is why I felt it was time to rotate the tires but couldn't get this done due to the swelled up lug bolts on all four tires.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that the tire bolts on each wheel were corroded and expanded. The contact took the vehicle to dan welle Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (1505 main st s, sauk centre, mn 56378, (320) 352-5255) for new tires. In order to remove the bolts from the tires, the mechanic had to use a different size socket and a vice grip, which took approximately three and a half hours. The mechanic informed the contact that he needed to purchase new bolts. The manufacturer was notified of the defect and stated that they were not going to issue a recall unless more customers complained about this matter. The bolts were not replaced. The failure mileage was 68,100.
Pulls to passenger side the wheels were cockeyed the dealer refuses to fix it correctly the dealer left two brand new ones on the front and almost wore off tires on the back and they had to put brand new brakes and rotors on the car because it started making really really bad sounds they don't want to fix it and I think they kirk and safety recalls on this car I think they did said they fix them so they can get it off the carfax to sell the car just keep in mind this car only has 24,464 on it and I'm a single dad I filled it I'm getting screwed around buy a multi billion dollar company frank fletcher Ford joplin missouri.
I have not had this vehicle for a year only have had it for at least 9 months now drove it off the lot brand new only 2 miles on it. My tires are horrible the tread is showing on all 4 tires not only that the suspension on the car is completely unaligned. I have not hit anything or had any accidents in the vehicle at all. This should not be happening. Not only that I took it back to the dealership and they won't do anything about it.

7/11/19 - travelling on the interstate with approximately 1700 miles on a 2019 corvette grand sport I started to notice a vibration while travelling around 65 mph on the interstate. The vehicle now has 3000 miles on it and the vibration has become worse so that it is noticeable at any speed. The vibration can be felt through the entire vehicle, as well as through the steering wheel. Looking at the steering wheel while driving on a straight smooth road it is possible to watch the steering wheel vibrate. On a long road trip the vibration in the steering wheel also started to cause numbness in my hands. 7/15/19 - my first course of action was to have the wheels checked for balance, shifted or broken belt in the tire. The tire repair facility said the balance and tires looked good. (no charge) 7/18/19 - next step was to have the alignment checked. After a minor adjustment to the front end alignment the vibration persisted. (receipt is currently in vehicle at dealership) 7/19/19 - next I took the vehicle to the dealership. They have informed me that all suspension and steering components are good, but all 4 wheels are bent. They also mentioned that there is no damage to the tires or wheels from an outside object such as a curb or road debris. (dealership is to be completing documentation on 7/22/19 regarding possible warranty and safety concern communication to general motors) my concern is that the vibration will continue to get worse and controlling the vehicle will become increasingly difficult.
I have some 31k miles in the vehicle and it has been given me troubles with the wheels since they aren't inflated correctly. When I take it to the repair shop, everything is good and no nail nor nothing is in the wheel. But when they verify the 'worm' where you inflate the tire it hesiss and it gets bubbly since they verify the wheel with water and soap. It turns out that the valve (worm) has worn out or splitted - from I don't know where. Plus now it is happening with a second tire/wheel. When I replace the valve, if its not an original mopar part, the sensor won't recognize it. Now I spoke with the tire technician and it indicates to me that it should be a wear off due to manufactures specifications.
Continental sport 265/65/r16/ the tire bubbled and popped in the middle of the tread it separated with out any indication. When I started to get onto the interstate it ruptured without being punctured.
Tire pressure system needs service, parking lights out, daytime driving lights out.
My new vehicle was delivered without a spare tire. There is only a fix a flat kit. A fix a flat kit will not "fix" a severely damaged tire. I'm told I can buy a spare tire kit for extra money. Spare tires should be required by law on every new car.
Takata recalled.
The brand and model of the tires of my 2016 Jeep Renegade are good year eagle sport. With just 9 months of using the bus, the tires began to dent and present some holes. I contacted the customer service department of the Jeep and good year. The representative of good year told me that I could not honor the defect of the tires because those tires were not made for the climate of puerto rico and that this an aesthetic defect and not insecure. Which I disagree because they can break while the car is moving.
Tthe steering wheel locked up on neice causeing her to go towards the right side, and back tires locked up and caused her to spin. . Eventually getting hit from behind by another driver! it could have killed her, she couldnt do a thing with the steering wheel at all it needs to be recalled ASAP so others wont be hurt or worse killed. She was driving down the road to an appt. Douglas GA.
No spare tire given no way to change tire if suffering flat tire or blowout.
Tire pressure sensor broken into pieces on one tire.
When I'm driving my vehicle will not speed up. I press on the gas and it keeps going at the same speed. When I brake it pulls, like if I was repeatedly pressing and letting go of the brakes. The wheels have worn out twice, having had new cars before and driving the same roads and distance I know this is not normal. I have fixed my breaks once wich is unusual for how new this car is and now my breaks are making squeaking noise.
Tire pressure monitor system service light came on this morning. Tpms no longer able to read any of my tire pressures.
Tires installed are not specific for on/off road driving. According to tire manufacturer, goodyear sr-a 215/65/r17 are highway tires and not for off roading.
Just purchased a Jeep Renegade. Much to our surprise the car does not come with a spare tire even though it has a spot for it in the rear. I believe it to be a safety issue since if a person has a flat in a area that is not well traveled and has no cell service this could be a life or death matter. If the temps are freezing or extremely hot and you are in the middle of nowhere you would have to drive on the rim till you got help or crash. Whichever accurse first. If you had to walk in extreme cold for a long distance you could get hypothermia or worse. In extreme heat you could dehydrate before you get help. The list goes on there is no good points to not having a spare tire.
Since I owned this Jeep I complained at service that the transmission seems strain and where a change in gear should naturally happen, the engine would whine and whine and then eventually shift gears. I was always met with service men with no response. Since the very beginning I was told that the engine burned considerable amounts of oil, and I would need to make additional special appt sand bring it in to make sure I had oil in the engine?the console above my head where the interior lights and the sunroof switch is there are red lights that light up from time to time indicating what/ and why are they lit? another question unanswered by the Jeep service dept of rockland cnty NY. Now that my Jeep is over 150,000 miles the electrical is shot. The check engine light comes on and goes off from time to time. The 4wheel drive sporadically works, same with the sunroof control and the driver seat lumbar and position controls on the driver seat. Only work when they want to.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Renegade. While driving 25 mph, a loud squealing sound was heard from the front driver side wheel. In addition, it took multiple attempts to start the vehicle and the instrument panel failed. The failure occurred constantly. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 500.
