My 2023 Jeep Wagoneer experienced a catastrophic panoramic sunroof failure while parked and unattended. The vehicle had been driven normally earlier that day with no known impact or debris strike, and I have footage from before arriving showing the roof intact. The vehicle was parked in a school parking lot for approximately 2. 5 hours, and when I returned, the panoramic roof glass had spontaneously shattered. No impact event was witnessed, and there was no known object strike to the vehicle. The dealership determined the damage was caused by outside influence; however, no specific impact point or evidence of an object strike has been identified to us. Because the glass shattered unexpectedly while the vehicle was stationary, we are concerned this may represent a spontaneous tempered-glass failure and a potential safety defect.
On two occasions now, the car will start and all other electronic screens will turn on and be normal, but the driver screen behind the steering wheel does not. We can put the car in drive and it operates normal but the screen only shows the display to "press brake and push button to start" the button icon and odometer mileage. Everything else is blank. We have no way of knowing the speed/rpm/fuel/battery/etc. I have video of it while driving and and photo when parked. I am contacting the dealership but wanted to report my concern.
Our 2023 Jeep Wagoneer overheats (indicates excessive oil temperature and low oil pressure) repeatedly (~20 times since we've owned the vehicle) under normal freeway driving causing a safety issue by creating the need to rapidly slow and exit the roadway to prevent vehicle engine failure. The issue occurs during sustained freeway driving around 60-65 mph. The car feels like it is not properly shifting to the next gear and the rpm lingers around 3000rpm - 3500rpm. After a few minutes at this sustained rpm the engine temperature gauge slowly climbs until the overheating warning light comes on and it typically followed by a low oil pressure warning. We have taken the vehicle to a Jeep dealer twice. They have tried to replicate the issue and have not been able to. We suspect that they are not driving in long enough (30-40min) to be able to replicate the issue. They also say that they are not able to pull up any error codes from the vehicle from an odb scanner. They say they can't diagnose the issue with out an error code and seam to be unwilling to explore the issue further. Most recently we've purchased our own odb scanner to try to gather any error codes because the Jeep dealer doesn't seam to want to investigate further without us gathering error codes for them. Today we drove the car for about 45min on moderately hilly terrain at around 60mph and produced three separate overheating / low oil pressure error incidents while the odb scanner was plugged in. The odb did not indicate an error code on any of the three incidents. We are frustrated because Jeep and their dealers have left us in a situation where we have a dysfunctional vehicle and seam to be unwilling to take reasonable measures to resolve the problem.
I scheduled an appointment genes Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram service department in fairbanks, ak on February 13, 2026 to perform all recalls on my vehicle. This appointment was made almost a month out to ensure I had the day off to be able to drop off my vehicle and have them keep it for the remainder of the day. The service department informed me before closing time around 1700 that my vehicle was ready for pick up. In the next few weeks, I was still receiving recall information in the mail. I called genes again and spoke with a representative who checked the system for me and she assured me that recalls were completed but it takes time for the system to update. I took her word for it. My vehicle is currently in service at genes now for other issues and I called stellantis to open a case for the delays. Per their regulation, when a member calls, they let them know what recalls is still against their vehicle, they assured me that my recalls was still open. I wrote an email to genes manager requesting to answer me via email as proof that recalls were performed on my vehicle, but he did not address my question to this day. I have attached the receipt of the workorder on Feb 13 that states recalls were performed on my vehicle. I am also attaching the email traffic from genes regarding my follow up question. There are other correspondence in this email, but I have highlighted my email that I sent on may 4th and attached the pdf with the email.
On February 13, 2026, alm [xxx] [xxx] ) sold me a 2023 Jeep Wagoneer (VIN: [xxx] ) with federal safety recall 88c (NHTSA campaign 25v-642 — rear quarter window trim detachment, road hazard risk) open and unrepaired at the time of sale. This recall was not disclosed to me during the sale process, which was conducted remotely. I discovered the open recall only after taking delivery of the vehicle. Owner notification letters for recall 88c were mailed beginning February 19, 2026 — six days after my purchase. Alm cdjr had knowledge of this recall prior to sale and chose not to disclose it or complete the repair before delivery. The recall has since been completed by a different dealer (farris motor company, jefferson city, TN). However, alm cdjr's sale of a vehicle with a known open federal safety recall without disclosure is a dealer compliance violation I am formally reporting to NHTSA. I have filed supporting complaints with the georgia attorney general's consumer protection division and have documentation of this transaction on file. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The car vibrates when it drives over 65-70 mph. Passengers feel car sick. Many Wagoneer drivers experience the same problem, but there is no remedy.
Display has constant screen glitching.
Vehicle on 4 occasions resulting in 2 transmission replacements, has a transmission control module malfunction resulting in the vehicle unable to shift out of 1st gear. Note this happens while driving. This is a huge safety issue that the manufacturer is refusing to acknowledge.
The thermostat failed, causing the vehicle to overheat and die on a us highway with multiple passengers inside. The vehicle subsequently needed to be towed to the dealer for service. This is a known issue but Jeep has not issued a recall. There is a customer satisfaction campaign (csn 26b) in regard to thermostat failure, but this VIN has not been included, despite having the same engine/year known to have a defective thermostat. The overheating was a safety issue that came on suddenly and stranded the driver and passengers away from home. The warning light for engine temperature came on within a minute of the engine shutting down leaving little time to park safely along the highway.
The Wagoneer while driving twice has shut off, gone into park, and emergency break turned on. The problem is shutting off on its own while driving. This could cause a wreck obviously if happens at a higher rate of speed. Thankfully both times I was at about 5-10mph and nobody was behind me.
While driving, coming to a stop & starting from full stop at lights, car shut itself down. After 6 separate events it happened whislt in motion. Exvept this time it engaged the e break, park break, killed power steering, locked the steering wheel, reset all systems and put itself in park. All while travelling at 25mph. The vehicle jacknifed and bodilly injury sustained by driver.
On the highway and interstate highway, during stop in stop-and-go traffic, the vehicle randomly automatically shifts into park and apply the parking brakes when attempting to accelerate from standstill. This only happens when you try to move again after stopping, and the vehicle is shifted into park in the most inopportune times. It requires you not only to shift it back to drive with your right hand, and reaching under the dash with your left hand to release the parking brake. When task saturated during an emergency it is highly likely to cause an accident, such as turning left onto a divided country highway while the car is temporally stopped between the two highways. No dealership involvement yet. This occurs randomly, and I have not been able to find a way to replicate it at will. This has occurred more than a dozen of times. Warning light on the dash stating shifting the car into park, and audible beep. Dangerous because it occurs randomly on a highway. Unsure if it's related to automatic engine stopping, or adaptive cruise control.
I have a 2023 Wagoneer l - series ii carbide. On 2 separate occasions my Wagoneer has powered down and put itself into park. 7/22/24 - pulling out of a parking lot, and as I was pulling out alerts popped up and put itself into park. I turned the vehicle off and on again, and proceeded to put the vehicle in drive and it instantly put itself into park. I again, restarted the vehicle and was able to drive. 7/23/24 - I pulled out of a parking lot onto the road. As I was driving on the road (going about 20 mph) the alerts appeared and as I was trying to get over out of traffic, the car powered down and slammed itself into park. This time I was able to press the start button for it to start and was able to drive it.
This incident occurred today when I was on the slower lane and moved to the left lane in order to accelerate. The transmission didn't respond to my acceleration as a result the gear wouldn't shift to higher level and my vehicle remained stuck at the lower level. This could have been catastrophic to my family if there traffic was moving faster but because of slow moving traffic I was able to pull it over the shoulder and put it in neutral and then was able to drive. I haven't shown this issue to the dealer yet. I have checked about this problem online and multiple people have reported the same issue and dealership couldn't fix it. It happens when I have to accelerate from a 10 miles per hour to a higher speed. No, th vehicle hasn't been inspected by police or insurance or manufacturer. No failure was displayed anywhere.
Driving on 129 in hamilton ohio at 6 am I hit debri in the road wrapped in black plastic I didn’t see it until it was too late. It was dark outside. 911 operator knew it was there but didn’t have police there with lights on to let drivers know. It was in both lanes on my side of road I hit it and tore up the front end. I still dont know what I hit and haven’t heard back from police others hit it too. This was a rental car I was driving. Is there a way I can get reimbursed for the damages I had to report to my insurance since the police knew it was in the road and didn’t not have anyone marking it?.
Panoramic sunroof exploded while driving on freeway in good weather conditions. The only thing preventing the glass from falling on my head and my son's was the screen underneath the sunroof. The extremely loud and unexpected sound caused by the glass exploding was incredibly disorienting while in traffic traveling at approximately 65 mph. This could have caused an accident. There was no debris falling on the car that would have caused this damage, and we were not traveling under a bridge at the time of the event. I brought the vehicle to my local Jeep dealer in torrance, CA. It has not yet been inspected by the dealer or manufacturer.
