Vehicle Speed Control Problems of Jeep Wagoneer

Speedometer read zero while driving on the interstate and rpms felt as if they were off. New electrical cluster and new battery by Jeep have already been replaced claiming it would resolve this issue.

On 8/22/25 I was driving on the interstate and attempted to set my cruise at 74 mph. After turning the cruise on and reaching the speed of 74 mph, I pressed the "set+" button. Almost immediately the car sped forward and within seconds I had reached the speed of 83 mph. I applied the brakes and looked down to see the cancelled cruise speed of 100 on my screen. I turned the cruise off and then back on. I was then able to successfully set the cruise at 74 mph. On 9/25/25 I was driving on the highway. I attempted to set my cruise at 56 mph. After turning on the cruise and reaching my desired speed, I pressed the "set+" button. Immediately the car sped forward and before I had a chance to react the car was going 65 mph. I applied the brakes and looked down to see the cancelled cruise speed of 100 on my screen. I turned the cruise off and back on. I pressed the "set+" button when I was going 56 mph and I immediately noticed that the cruise had set itself to 70 mph so I applied the brakes, turned the cruise off and back on. This time after pressing the "set+" button the cruise set itself at 60 mph. I applied the brakes, turned the cruise off and back on. On the 4th try, after pressing the "set+" button the cruise speed remained set at 56 mph.

Vehicle speedometer has randomly blacked out on numerous occasions not allowing me to see any of my gauges. While driving on the interstate and merging the vehicle has stalled and rpms stay stagnant yet you can hear the engine revving & then it acts like it will catch up. While driving up hill the vehicle began to stall almost like it was towing something when it was not. Back up camera has failed to turn on (resolved its self after I restarted the car). When I take it into the dealer error codes never seem to pop for these issues even though it tells me to see dealer, and read manual for proper oil and fuel usage. It’s like it has a mind of its own and it worries me to continue driving my three children around when electrical issues randomly happen every month or so & it needs constant updating. Both batteries have been replaced due to these issues draining the life out of them.

The vehicle accelerated without the pedal being depressed from a fully stopped position. The vehicle struck a tree and was severely damaged and a total loss. The data from the black box could not be retrieved by the local Jeep dealer. Insurance and law enforcement officials did not want to pursue investigation. Vehicle was released to insurance company for salvage so total loss claim could be processed and paid.

I was driving and the car started making a weird noise. It then started to slow, the temperature went to red and the car started beeping. It kept going slow and then just stopped in the middle of the road. I could not move and was almost hit by multiple cars.

Speedometer & gauges will randomly blackout and not work and it causes the engine to do funny things while driving. Battery drains from the issues (stranded twice even after new batteries installed). Rear view camera sometimes glitches as well and freezes up.

Vehicle vibrates and bounces at high speeds keep bringing to dealer who can't repair. Makes it hard to control at higher speeds.

Engine overheated and oil pressure low warnings came on suddenly and lost power. I had my two grandkids and was on a dark country road with ditches and no shoulders. Pulled off at the next cross street to get to safety. Was stranded at night in a rural area with my [xxx] and [xxx]. Had to have vehicle towed and wait for someone to pick us up. Thermostat failed, which is a known problem but my VIN wasn’t listed on the 26b notice. Engine was damaged beyond repair. It took three weeks for them to replace the engine. The morning after I picked up the wagon, the brake warning light came on when the grandkids were in it again. The dealership told me to have it towed. They said they spilled brake fluid when they replaced the engine and refilled it. I paid nearly 100k for this unsafe car! there is no excuse for not replacing a cheap $50 thermostat to avoid this issue. I purchased the car, July 2022. It was a used certified vehicle with 3289 miles on it. This is a commercial vehicle as I own my own business. I reported two days after purchasing it that the front passenger tire shakes. For two years now, I have been trying to get Wagoneer and my dealership to fix the issue. Last Thursday, I was instructed to replace all the tires and see what happens. I did so and the shaking is still occurring. I received an email from Wagoneer services this morning telling me there is nothing they can do about it. I have a call into an attorney. This car has been towed on a flatbed three times since purchasing has been in the shop 16 times sometimes over three months at one time. I do believe that I should have to pay for a vehicle that is so terrible especially being $105,000 vehicle. Wagoneer is impeding my business and my business revenue because I cannot drive this car safely. I have been paying $1500 payment for two years and have never had a car that worked 100% properly. They refused to reimburse me for any of my time down. My contract states that I am to have a Wagoneer as a rental while they are working on my car that is only happened to one time. They tried to give me itty-bitty cars to run my business out of.
