Seven problems related to front air bag have been reported for the 1998 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer states while traveling at 35 mph consumer hit a metal pole to avoid a bystander. Consumer states none of the airbags deployed. Please provide any further information.
Front crash at 30-40 mph, neither airbag deployed. Driver sustained injuries.
Defective electrical connector caused all the gauges to fail and air bags to shut down.
While driving it was raining and someone cut in front of consumer vehicle, causing consumer to hit the other vehicle. Upon impact, airbags didn't deploy.
While driving consumer's daughter struck another vehicle in rear and airbag didn't go off.
Driver hit a berm of rock/sand at approx. 30 mph, right front of Jeep, the seat belt around the driver's waist held, but the belt over the driver's shoulder did not hold, the driver's face hit the middle of the dashboard and broke three teeth that had to be removed. Also, airbag's did not deploy.
No deployment of air bag during vehicle collision, resulting in neck, back and shoulder injuries. Qcaw.
