Speedometer/odometer Failure problems of the 1999 Jeep Wrangler

Two problems related to speedometer/odometer failure have been reported for the 1999 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Speedometer/odometer Failure problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2015

The contact owns a 1999 Jeep Wrangler. While driving approximately 40 mph, the speedometer failed and the engine warning indicators illuminated. The contact stated that this was a recurring failure. The vehicle was not taken in for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 146,000.

2 Speedometer/odometer Failure problem

Failure Date: 06/01/1999

While driving at any speed air bag light and check engine light appeared on the dashboard . This caused the speedometer to fail. Consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and drove it home. Consumer will contact the dealer in the near future.
