Jeep headlamp lighter/dimmer switch started working intermittently. When pulling switch out, headlamps would not reliably turn on. Ordered a new switch. When replacing switch, noticed that headlamp lighter/dimmer switch plastic electrical connector was melted.
Water entered the steering column through the hazard switch (leak caused by factory top design) and shorted the multi function switch used to control brake lights, turn signals, and headlights. The short caused a small fire and meltdown of the switch. The switch had to be replaced. This is the second time this has occurred.
