The poor design of the gas tank rollover safety float ball in this vehicle continues to allow gasoline to splash back out of the gas filler neck of the vehicle every single time at an auto shut off fueling nozzle is used. This is a known defect but which they offered a remedy that had an age or mileage limit. This is a gross safety hazard and should warranty t a recall before some one blows up.
Transmission kept popping out of reverse and wouldn't go into reverse, had to have it replaced.
So was driving my Jeep when I stoped lost all oil pressure dropped to 0 pressure when accerlerated oil pressure went back but continues to drop to 0 when stopped I have replace the oil pressure switch with no change . I have researched online and this seems to be a problem with most 2005 heep Wranglers so my question is is when is enough /enough when are you going to recall and do the right thing?.
When fueling up and the hand pump clicks off, gas continues to shoot out of the fuel tank. Its enough to leave a small puddle on the ground not to mention all over the rear of my Jeep and it has stained my new fender flare. I understand this has been an ongoing problem with Jeep Wranglers.
When filling up the gas tank the gas pump automatically switches off when the tank is full (like it does with any other car), however with the Jeep gasoline immediately gushes out of the filler hole. I'd estimate that at least a pint to a quart of fuel spills (and sometimes sprays) out. If someone is standing near-by they will get soaked with gasoline. This doesn't always happen, but seems to be occurring more frequently. Not only is this an inconvenience, it's an environmental hazard and a fire risk. What happens if someone's pant-leg gets soaked in gasoline (as has happened to me) and then they pick-up a mild static charge when entering/ exiting the vehicle (which is not uncommon). Someone is going to get hurt. I cannot let anyone put gas in the Jeep (like my wife). Anyone who is not familiar with this 'quirk' will likely get soaked with fuel at some point when filling up the Jeep.
The evaporated system in the Jeep in turning engine light and will not pass safety and emissions without fixing it. We have a new fuel cap and have also checked the console and it still turns on heard this was a known issue but no recalls for it.
I was driving down a straight road at about 47 mph when I my steering wheel started shaking uncontrollably. It seriously felt as if my Wrangler was going to shake the steering wheel and tires right off. The only way I able to stop the shaking was to pull over and slow down, then as soon as I hit 47 mph this happened all over again. Did some research on this and they call it a "death wobble," and this has been associated with Jeep Wranglers for some time now. But for some reason Chrysler doesn't want to acknowledge the severity and dangerous nature of this malfunction. This kind of defect could kill someone!.
When filling up the 2005 Jeep Wrangler rubicon with gasoline, the tank overflows at the filling point every time, before the pump shuts off. It happens at every station, every time. It is not operator error.
Catalytic converter: was driving and check engine light went on, vehicle began 'chugging' as though not getting enough fuel. Smelled gasoline. Called Jeep dealer in florida and was advised to let engine cool, then drive to local dealer since it sounded as though the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. Stated this as normal for the mileage. Emissions warranty valid. (was stationed in naples, italy. ) Jeep dealer in naples advised he would not honor any warranty and would not fix until I paid him 1k euros. Overseas military car sales got involved and said not to worry about work would be done and covered by warranty. Dealer pulled entire emissions system out and replaced it, then refused to release vehicle for 30 days until I paid the 1k euros. Dealer stated he did not have to honor warranty on a us-registered vehicle because fiatchrysler paid him less than he could get from me. Threatened to impound vehicle. Fiatchrysler refused to assist although dealer was not authorized to pull/replace system unless covered by warranty. Florida dealer and selling dealer in wa state advised that if we could have gotten the vehicle home, it would have been a warranty replacement without any problems because it was a common issue at this mileage (53k).
When fueling, gas overflows every time no matter how careful in fueling and when pump shuts off automatically it gushes out creating hazardous situation ,not to mention environmental issues.
Every time I fill up the gas some spill outs. Fuel shut off does not work. Every time I fill up at every station.
When filling gas tank shutoff does not work and gas overflows. Happens at every station, every time I fillup.
