At 45-50 mph the steering wheel shakes violently. It has the "death wobble".

2 Steering Wheel Vibrate problem

Failure Date: 08/12/2016

Steering stabilizer goes out on average about 20,000 to 30,000 miles with normal street or highway driving. Steering wheel starts shaking back and forth and wheels shake violently . I see Jeep is now recalling some 2018-2019 Jeeps and would like mine fixed too .

3 Steering Wheel Vibrate problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2013

Whenever Jeep reaches speeds of 50 mph and hits a bump front wheels and steering wheel shakes violently. You must slow at once to get it to stop. After asking other Jeep owners I have found this to be a common problem. Went to the Jeep dealer and was only given a service bulletin and no answers.

4 Steering Wheel Vibrate problem

Failure Date: 12/15/2012

I was driving down a straight road at about 47 mph when I my steering wheel started shaking uncontrollably. It seriously felt as if my Wrangler was going to shake the steering wheel and tires right off. The only way I able to stop the shaking was to pull over and slow down, then as soon as I hit 47 mph this happened all over again. Did some research on this and they call it a "death wobble," and this has been associated with Jeep Wranglers for some time now. But for some reason Chrysler doesn't want to acknowledge the severity and dangerous nature of this malfunction. This kind of defect could kill someone!.

5 Steering Wheel Vibrate problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2010

2005 Jeep Wrangler experiences high speed wobble every day at speeds above 45 mph. This is a very common problem with Jeep vehicles. Internet users refer to the condition as "death wobble. " I would not want that name associated with any of my products. I got rid of a 2001 Jeep grand cherokee that did the same thing. The steering wheel shakes so violently that the brakes must be applied at high speed to correct the problem. This is dangerous for vehicles following and could cause an accident. I absolutely do not let my wife or kids drive this car. I don't want to be the one who confirms the death wobble moniker. The failure occurs daily. I have balanced the tires repeatedly and rotated and cross rotated tires. Even broken down tires and rotated them on rims to achieve optimal balance. I will never own another Jeep product. They need to step up and fix this problem.

6 Steering Wheel Vibrate problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2006

I bought my 2005 Jeep unlimited with 6,000 miles on it. I have been to the dealership seven times to have it fixed. My major complaint is it surges out of control when taking my foot off the brakes from a stopped position. It does it in drive and in reverse without warning. The dealership has no solution. I also have a problem with the steering wheel shaking once I hit a small bump in the road,as small as the reflectors that line the middle of streets. There are times the steering wheel shakes so hard that I have to let go of the steering wheel. They have replaced my steering stabilizer arm,I've had the rotors turned I've replaced the brakes. Replacing the stabilizer arm seemed to help for a short time. My other issue with this lovley death trap of mine is when I run the a/c the whole thing bogs down like I'm pulling an eighteen wheeler out of a ditch. The dealership solution was to come in and test drive another Jeep to see if I "actually have a problem". When I take my car to the dealership they keep it for at least two weeks and the problems are still there. My advice to other Jeep owners with these problems is to always take the back roads and always leave a car length of space all the way around your Jeep, and never use the a/c!these problems began at about 10,000 miles and my Jeep just rolled over32,000 miles.
