Opda has a high pitched squealing noise coming from it. From what I read this can lead to engine failure.
Opda(distributor) appears to have created excessive heat at the drive gear from the camshaft and caused a failure of a camshaft lifter or follower which wore down the camshaft and ran metal shavings or chips throughout the engine with the oil and caused engine failure. The oil level was full prior to draining it to see how much metal it contained.
