Battery problems of the 2008 Jeep Wrangler

Five problems related to battery have been reported for the 2008 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Battery problem

Failure Date: 08/20/2012

My 2008 Jeep Wrangler unlimited began to have an electrical malfunction with 50,441 miles on it. The alarm sounded, wipers and fluid went crazy, lights flashing, power steering failed, and the car would not stop running even with the key removed. I had to disconnect the battery and tow it to dealership. After $130 they said it was a key fob battery. I reluctantly drove away certain that the issue was not a key fob issue. Sure enough, the next day the same thing happed while sitting in the parking lot at work. I disconnected the battery and about an hour later reconnected and it started. I promptly drove to a more reliable dealership, who diagnosed the tipm module. $607 bucks later it is repaired. Chrysler of course has done nothing but deny any issue with tipm modules, when clearly they have a widespread issue with this part (just google search it). This should be a class action case, if Chrysler will not recall.

2 Battery problem

Failure Date: 03/28/2012

I have been in the shop 6 times since Dec 2011 for numerous problems. Now we have had it in the shop 2 times in less then 1 week for it not starting. I have put a ton of money in my postal Jeep and out of work due to this problem. Finally had it towed bc all the lights on the dash came on. I need this for my job and Chrysler could care less. I am beginning to process the lemon law on it. I have put a new battery and cables and had to have it diagnosed 3 times. I am fed up! ( on a sad note I have only owned this car 6 months and have put $3700 in it on what the warranty will not cover.

3 Battery problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2011

My Jeep Wrangler unlimited x 4 dr would not start and would just click once without turning over the engine. The entire dash was bright and functioning and my battery was brand new. After a few attempts the Jeep started as if it was perfectly fine and did not struggle to start neither. Every few weeks to few months it will repeat the same thing over. Also, a few times the dash would show that the Jeep was engaged in every gear. I stepped on the brake and shifted the automatic gear from p to 1 and back to p and the dash retuned to normal. I have a strong feeling my computer or tipm / fuse box is going haywire yet the dealer finds nothing wrong. I just brought it to the dealer for a diagnostic and he found no errors. Why is there no recall on this if there are so many complaints about the same issues for Jeeps from many models and years?? please help! I have read on many posts that dealers have told customers that there are about 300-400 tipms are on backorder so why no recall? my warranty is still good but I'm afraid the dealer will do everything they can to avoid having to honor it as I was pretty much told they could do nothing for me. I'm still paying off the finance and it's not right that I have a lemon on my hands. The worst part about this is that I am in danger of the engine stalling while driving and now I fear my family's life/safety. No one should have to deal with such a dangerous situation.

4 Battery problem

Failure Date: 10/19/2010

I put in a new battery in my car at the dealer and it corroded again. They told me they forgot to spray it. I have had cars for 6 years and the battery never corroded. I feel there is something wrong someplace and the dealer is not being honest with me.
