Two problems related to alternator/generator/regulator have been reported for the 2010 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Wrangler. While driving approximately 5 mph into a parking lot, the vehicle shut off. When he attempted to restart the vehicle, the alternator started to smoke. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the alternator was faulty and destroyed the computer system. The mechanic replaced the alternator and the computer. The dealer was not contacted and the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 99,600.
Car stalled loosing all power and drivability dealer claims the alternator went bad and fuse able link melted causing me to need a whole new wiring set.
