The vehicle was inspected by the dealer who advised that the boot under the gear would become too cold and causing the gears to shift independently. The dealer repaired the vehicle by removing the boot. After repairs, the vehicle began to exhibit an abnormally loud noise from the transmission. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer and they advised that the recent failure was caused by the removal of the boot. The vehicle was not further repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 900.
