I understand that the next years model had a recap for the 2014 model for the tpm control module. It seems to have the same problem with my 2013 year model. The warning light keeps alerting despite the sensors are all functioning properly and tire pressure checked.
The front wheels wobble uncontrollably at high speeds (55mph). The steering wheel shakes and only considerable slowing and countermeasures can stop this horrifying problem. The condition is known as "Jeep death wobble" and if you look it up on google you can see video of precisely what is happening to my Jeep on the highway, on bridges, on curves while I am going fast. It happened at 20k they fixed it and it started to happen again around 75k. They know there is a serious problem.
On Thursday, August 23, 2018 at approximately 12:20 I was driving down i820 south bound at the speed of 65 mph when I heard a loud pop that sounded like a gunshot, about 30 seconds or less later there was another one. The steering wheel started shaking and I almost lost control of the vehicle. Luckily, I was in the far right lane and at an exit when I regained control and I immediately took the exit and got to the shoulder of the service road. It appears the tire failed from the sidewalk. See attached picture up close to view two sidewall ruptures consistant with the sounds and tire failure. Tire is goodyear eagle rsa with approximately 55% treadlife remaining.
2013 Jeep Wrangler had 72,000 highway miles, never towed or beat on Jeep. While driving at 70mph on highway car suddenly swerved violently to right and left multiple times, almost flipped over. Had it towed to belle tire and found right rear axel went out, affected calipers and brakes all had to be replaced. I was less than 2 months out of powertrain, called they wont reimburse since it was not repaired at Jeep dealer. The car abs/tracktion control lights went on, hardly went forward due to brakes locked up and smelled like it was burning, actual right rear rim too hot to touch, wouldn't even move in gear unless gassed it. Never had a warning, rear brakes had just been replaced two months earlier.
When you hit a bump or even a rock on the highway or any road, something happens the front end it starts shaking like crazy its as if you had a blow out. Normally around 35 to 50 miles an hour. This is happening to many Jeep owners they call it the "Jeep death wobble. " it is a very frightening situation. The steering wheel and the whole front end shakes back and forth. Slowing down does not correct the problem as some people have suggested you have to come to a complete stop. And then start driving again. This happened on a busy highway where there is not way of pulling over or on a road and it also happened on the city streets. This can cause a situation, there has been no recall on the issue but have heard many stories about this issue. It does not happen all the time , but when it does it is very frightening . This has happened several times but I have decided to make a complaint about it. I have not made video of it because you never know when it will happen, but have seen several on you-tube of vehicles with the same issue. I feel Chrysler Jeep should take full responsibility for it. Also the electric on the blinkers seem to be going out often also. Replacing a bulb does not work it is the whole socket or wiring system that needs to be replaced. I I research these issues many many Jeep owners complain about the same thing.
Studs keep braken on rear wheels.
I have 2013 Jeep wrangle unlimited. I bought this in 2013 for my wife. The Jeep had about 11,000 miles on it when we bought. The death wobble started occurring about 6-month into ownership. I aligned, balanced and replaced two tires. Now, the death wobble is an everyday occurrence. At 55 miles per hour, the wobble occurs.
My Jeep has a problem with the front tire aligment . The right and left tire wear to fast atd the auter side causing posible problem during handling on wet roads. I have take the Jeep to a shop to be alingn, but the mecanic toll me that the problen with my Jeep is the camber position and these position is set by the factory. The factory desent want to make the replacement of the front diferencial and the related component. What I can do to resolve these issue?.
I purchased a Wrangler Jeep sport in 2013 and have had two flats. It came with Wrangler goodyear 255 75 17 in tires. The first flat I experienced was six months after I purchased the Jeep and it was the sidewall and could not be fixed. Now six months later another tire has went flat and it is also the sidewall. This Jeep has less than 28,000 miles on this tire and only 15,000 on the first tire. These tires cost 290. 00 a piece, I mean really. Who can afford to continue purchasing tires at this cost every six months when the tire is rated at 50,000 miles. Now everyone I called say its not under warranty or no recall but something is wrong with these tires for the sidewalls to keep having flats. And if I'm not mistaken this is an off road vehicle isn't it, not that I've even taken it off road. If this is a problem with off road tires how about coming up with a better sidewall for goodyear tires, just saying.
