1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/28/2026

My 2013 rhd Jeep Wrangler is showing codes b1b02 and b1b06. I took it to jason lewis automotive in sparta TN yesterday. The airbag light is on and the horn does not work. These are the exact same failures identified in safety recall s40. The previous owner of my car got this done in 2021 but the remedy has failed and the safety risk is back. They confirmed that the clockspring is bad and needs replacing. The confirmed the codes and it matches the s40 recall.

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2026

My abs, brake and traction control lights all came on 1 month ago. Error code from shop is c2200 indicating a faulty abs module. They cannot find a replacement from any Jeep dealers. My online search also unsuccessful as none of the sites have them in stock. Been told by everyone that there is a national shortage and none are available due to Jeep not making them either anymore or cannot keep up with the demand. Now I cannot drive my Jeep safely and there is no timely help. This is a huge issue!.

3 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2025

Abs module failure and no replacement part available for this vehicle. After researching this issue, it should be a recall based on the highly excessive number of complaints and failures on this part. Has been ongoing for over 4 years and dealership says that Jeep Chrysler is aware of the issue and cannot get the part.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/28/2025

The components in the n28 / NHTSA 13v-234 recall did exactly what they were recalled for. My check engine light came on a few months back so I brought it to be diagnosed at a parts store and diagnostic scanner listed p codes for possible O2 sensor. I brought my 2013 Jeep Wrangler sport into a Jeep dealership(#1) in Friday, November 1st, 2024 and upon the first inspection, they found a couple of issues and printed an quote for $127. 33, I signed off on that quote. Then another hour or 2 passed by, they brought me a revised quote for over $600, which I was still okay with and signed off to have repaired. Then they offered to bring me home after hours of sitting in the lobby. The next day, I get a link to review the revised inspection and it was over $2400. The engine charge was over $1900 caused by the n28 recall. I asked them to just do the recall because I could not afford it the remaining. Upon looking into forums, documents & diagrams researching online specific to the n28 recall, I reached out to the manufacturer quite a few times by phone and email. I was working with someone who I thought would be helpful, since he suggested I call a different Jeep dealership (#2) service dept. And speak with a mechanic there. I spoke with a mechanic at #2 and sent #1's inspection report, and #2 dealership's mechanic confirmed the issues are connected & caused by the recall. The manufacture's contact (that I thought was more helpful than the ones I spoke with prior) was emailing me. I reported back to the contact on November 14th, 2024 what dealership #2 said and he never responded. I followed up for a response on November 21st, 2024. I still have no response as of January 30th, 2025.

5 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2024

Clock spring assembly had to be replaced. Horn would not work due to this. This appears to be a problem in Jeeps but no recall yet on this specific model.

6 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2024

Jeep Wranglers 2013 has a abs module issue that mopar is not having this part avaialble for replacement. There has been years of backorder on this module and everywhere you go they tell us the same. Mopar has a backorder on these and it has taken at times 2 to 3 years to get them. There has not been a recall knowing this is a known issue with Jeep all over.

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2023

When driving approximately 45 mph and above the entire car starts to violently shake. I don't know what part causes this problem. I've heard it could be : steering damper, ball joints, tie rods, track bar, front suspension damper cause this. Idk. Until I can afford to take it to a service shop and get it checked and repaired, it sits parked because I'm afraid to drive it. This started about a month ago. Jeep (stellantis) should be recalling and repairing all Wranglers with this problem not just newer models. My car has low miles but somehow got excluded from the lawsuit settlement apparently which is going by model years. This is a safety issue.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/28/2022

Horn, evic & radio controls on the steering wheel don't work. After waiting 2 months tfor the part, they replaced the evic switch which I was promised controlled the horn & radio too. It didn't fix the horn or any of the other issues. Now the dealer wants to replace the clock spring. There is an existing recall for my model year and years before and after (safety recall s40 / NHTSA 16v-288 airbag clockspring) but my VIN is not included. Jeep can not explain why I'm not included and said my airbag may or may not work. Any help is appreciated.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/22/2022

When driving down the road, the Jeep stops running. This is very dangerous and happens while driving at 55 mph. I’ve taken it to a mechanic and it will not throw a code. We’ve replaced the fuel pump, ignition, battery and alternator. Reading the forums and other online resources shows this is a common problem with multiple solutions. Jeep should recall any parts identified with this issue and be able to help correct this known issue. This is very unsafe. I do not have the money to spend and have no reliable transportation for employment. This has been such a hardship during such trying economic times.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/22/2022

My vehicle suddenly stops running as I'm driving down the road. This is an reoccurring problem that happens every few days. This does not issue a code nor does the check engine light come on. There is no rhyme or reason to the issue. Electrical does not go out only the ability to push the gas pedal. I have to pull over and turn off the Jeep. It comes back on and runs after waiting 10 minutes. This is a hazard and can cause a wreck. It's an common problem with Jeeps as reported on the forums.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2021

It the oil cooler . . . Its made of plastic I have only had my Jeep for 6 months and am about to have this part replaced for the third time. . And it not covered on my extended warranty. . 800. 00 each time. . Im certain im not the only one . . You guys need to fix this . . I cannot afford to keep changing this and renting cars and such. . . Something needs to be done about this part ASAP. I will send a copy of my bill tomorrow.

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/26/2021

While driving the vehicle, the heat cuts out and the defroster fails. This fogs up the window quickly causing an unsafe situation. Have had heating system flushed, controls and thermostat replaced, but problem continues to occur.

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2021

I was leaving a grocery store and as I was turning onto the busy main road my Jeep Wrangler sahara unlimited stalled with no warning no lights it just died it would not start at all. After 20 minutes it then started. It was very dangerous because the person behind me could have hit me if there wasn't any other traffic. This has happened before at traffic lights where it would stall out of no where but then I could turn the key and it would start. I am terrified to get on the highway afraid it will do that again and harm me or others on the road.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/16/2020

Caught fire for no known reason- while I was driving - came to stop and smoke passed me up - wind coming from behind me -stopped - saw smoke coming out of left side of hood -totally burned- thankfully I was able to get out without harm - yet I am left with no vehicle.

15 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/28/2020

My Jeep shuts off while driving on city roads and going up hills with other vehicles present, no codes show up, dash lights turn red when vehicle is off, my Jeep makes funny noises when turned off, take it to the dealership over 3 months since I bought it 3 months ago and they can't fix it. They don't know what is wrong with it. They've tired everything and still nothing. It's going back in again because it shut off on me going up a hill. This Jeep is now becoming dangerous to myself. Yet the Jeep still isn't giving codes. I had to go buy a car scan device plug it in and record data of what is going on with the Jeep so that the dealership can see. Do I have to go off a cliff or get into a really bad accident before this problem is found or fixed. I've only had this vehicle for 3 months. I bought it on February 21,2020 and it started acting up on February 28,2020 and still is on may 16, 2020 and it is becoming a nightmare. I'm spending money to get it fixed because the dealership is charging me because my extended warranty doesn't cover it. I was told when I bought it that there was nothing wrong with it but that was a lie. I need help figure this out. The dealership didn't make sure that this vehicle was safely operational before selling it. It over heated because they didn't check fluid. My heated seats were burnt out. My dash lights flicker on and off. They replaced something behind my dash but it didn't fix the issue. I think it made it worse. As of right now my Jeep shuts up at least once a week which puts me in a dangerous position because I get stuck either on the side of the road sitting sideways or almost off of a cliff or in the middle of the road with nowhere to go because I have no power steering the Jeep does it start back up for anywhere between 5 to 15 minutes.

16 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/24/2020

Leak when it rains. . Guessing seal on door.

17 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/20/2020

For the past 2 years my Jeep has been stalling a lot, have taken it to 2 mechanics and 2 times to the dealer. None of them know what’s going on because there’s no light coming on, except for the first time it happened the etc light came on but went away a few minutes later.

18 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/30/2019

Heater core clogged. Heater blows warm on passenger side, working across dash heat hets colder as it comes across to drivers side, driver side blows extremely cold. Defrost blows cold. From what I've read in Jeep forums thousands of Jeep owners are having this same issue. Heater core is getting clogged and affecting the heat output of Jeep. Our Jeep has roughly 112000 miles on and we have been having this problem since the Jeep has had around 50000 miles. Jeep would not cover under warranty because we were over 36000 miles. I have blew out heater core flushing it. That helps alittle bit but heat is still no were as hot as it should be. Replacing heater core involves pulling entire dash out or cutting dash supports to remove heater core to replace just to have new heater core clog again. Something in system is causing heater cores in these Jeeps to clogg ultimately causing heat and defrost not to work and blow cold air.

19 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/12/2019

After turning off the vehicle and parking in a garage for 10 minutes the tipm started smoking, wipers and lights went on and horn started blowing and caught fire. This occured approximately 5 pm.

20 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2019

The gas cap needs to be recalled. The dealer has replaced it several times and the light still comes on. The seat belt is a recall, but yet they have no parts to fix it. Rhd Jeep's only.

21 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/20/2019

While driving at highway speeds, ranging from 50-65 mph, if I take a turn that has a bump or am on a straightaway and hit a bump the entire car starts to violently shake, the steering wheel jerks left and right and it feel like the front tires are fishtailing. The only way to stop this violent oscillation is to slow the car down to under 45 mph which can be extremely difficult to do on the highway. I have talked with a couple of mechanics and a Jeep dealership and no one seems to know what could be causing the "death wobble". This happens randomly and without warning so I do not recall when it last happened. Therefore, I am choosing today's date in order to complete the form. I am also unsure of the exact mileage on my car when this happened since it has happened multiple times since I bought the car in 2013. I entered the approximate number of miles on the car when I remember the death wobble first occurring.

22 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/19/2019

The hard top leaks when it rains!! seem there is a engineering problem with the panels and or seals. Spent extra money for the hard top thinking it was better that the canvass top, really disappointed to have a brand new vehicle that leaks water into the interior. Can't be good for the electronics and overall integrity of the interior of this vehicle!!.

23 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/16/2019

Driving down the interstate my hood shakes and flutters. Looks like it is about to fly open. Scared to drive past trucks (semis) because of damage it may cause.

24 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/14/2019

My Jeep has been to four different dealers and I am still having the same issues with it as I did when I bought it one year ago. The engine light comes on and power is lost when this happens. The vehicle is usually in motion when this happens.

25 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/11/2019

My check engine light came on and I took it to my mechanic who said it seemed to just be a sensor. Then I went to start it one night after work and it wouldn't start. So I had to call aaa and they said maybe battery. So replace battery and now again, check engine light and it struggles to start and jerks while driving. My check engine light is on again.

26 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2019

My horn and buttons on the front and back of my steering wheel have been out for almost a year now because I need my clock spring changed. But courtesy of breaux bridge will not change it under the recall bc I am not the original owner and/or my air bag light is not on or I do not have " enough warning signs" per recall. Even though the recall is good for 1million miles. They would rather me pay $650. I even called Chrysler.

27 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/21/2019

The front wheels wobble uncontrollably at high speeds (55mph). The steering wheel shakes and only considerable slowing and countermeasures can stop this horrifying problem. The condition is known as "Jeep death wobble" and if you look it up on google you can see video of precisely what is happening to my Jeep on the highway, on bridges, on curves while I am going fast. It happened at 20k they fixed it and it started to happen again around 75k. They know there is a serious problem.

28 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/08/2019

Sway bar disconnect connector has heavy corrosion. Was told my dealer common problem with the rubicon model (see attached image). This is the anniversary edition Jeep and was very expensive and I was told when I purchased it that all parts were excellent long last parts now this is a safety issue. Is there a recall on this or can one be issued. I have contacted mopar and they will have digital imagines.

29 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/22/2019

Transmission or safety recall n28/nhsa 13v-234 leaking transmission fuel oil cooler tube. . . . . . +recall v01 NHTSA recall number 19v-018. . . . . . . .

30 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/11/2019

Airbag light has continually flashed on/off for approx 1 month. Light will flash on and off while driving, vehicle is off and parked/not in motion, vehicle is on not in motion. As of 03/12/2019 days ago light has remaining on without flashing, upon initially starting vehicle. Code verified as both stored and active, b1b02 associated with clockspring recall for Jeep Wrangler 2007-2010 lhd and 2012-2016 rhd.

31 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/20/2019

The heat stopped working, even after a 45 minute commute , no heat. This created difficulties in seeing out the windshield on cold mornings. The dealer did a flush of the system but the heat was only temporarily fixed, less a week. Returned to dealer, replaced the heater core which has returned the heat to the Jeep.

32 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2019

I pulled into parking space, foot on brake,( zero speed naturally) as I started to move shifter from drive to park, the engine roared and Jeep accelerated up over curb and ~ 20ft till I hit the corner of the la fitness building ( my destination) all the time with my foot depressed very hard on the brake. Damaging front bumper, grill , headlight and windshield on left corner (driver side). I deployed all my strength to brake during event with no effect, turned off car, and put it in park. Air bag did not deploy. 1-10-2019 at ~ 8:45am. Carrolton texas (75007 ) police report # 2019008855, officer elmore # 680 filed on 1-10-2019. I called huffines Jeep dealership to inquire if issues with sudden acceleration had been reported (officer reccomend I check before I drive to their repair shop) bob in customer service said he did not know of any issues or recalls. So I slowly drove with warning light active at ~ 20 mph to shop to start repairs (geico ins. Claim # 0529467460101044 ).

33 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2019

No heat on drivers side only causing visibility issues as defrost on drivers side is blowing cold air. Shop has done colant flush 2x in 1 year plus changed the thermostat which have all only been temporary fixes. Issue always returns. Heated seats fail to function as colder the outside temp is and when engaged doesnt feel as hot as they should. Jeep engine stalls out in reverse, worse when cold outside, will also dies occasionally when putting into drive. Dealer fail to find the cause as no warning lights are ever on as this did not happen in their presence and no codes come up although this happens almost every morning during winter when attempting to back out of my driveway. Occasionally if engine is stalling upon reverse it will also stall in the street again when shifting from reverse into drive. This stalling issue will happen no matter if I warm the engine before attempting to drive or not it makes no difference but it is more often in winter. Don't remember having this issue during summer but I've only owned it 1 year. Jeep also occasionally shakes terribly when I hit 60mph. So badly, I have to slow down or pull over as I feel like its going to lose control. My entire front end starts shaking, stealing wheel bouncing its awful. This 1st happened shortly after purchasing and I took it back to the dealer. Was told the front passenger caliper was falling off, they replaced that and 1 wk later that same caliper was again hanging on by jist 1 bolt. Shaking is again happening starting at exactly 60mph but calipers are in tact so I don't believe this was the real issue either. This $26k Jeep is turning out to be a money pit. One thing after another. I keep reading about Jeep owners all with my same problems so why are none of these issues being recalled???.

34 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2018

Heater core issue - myself and many other Jeep owners have reported issues with the heater core clogging. This is not a normal occurance in any vehicle. The repairs are invasive and costly (removing steering column, dash, center console, over $1000) or destructive if done the short cut way (cutting dash/glove box supports to remove the heater core). Chrysler continues to pretend like this issue isnt a result of some design flaw. So we are faced with spending over a $1000, or cutting a dash support or driving around with no heat or trading our vehicles in. It truly becomes a safety issue when driving in snow or extremely cold weather and your windshield on the driver's side starts to freeze up.

35 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/16/2018

Esc light came on while driving down the road. After that, the brakes started on their own and I couldn't steer. I was able to slowly drive to the dealership and they had to fix the clock spring. Even though this is a known recall and problem to the 2007-2010 Jeeps, they didn't include the 2013 in the recall and it was over $600 out of my pocket to fix.
