general problems of the 2013 Jeep Wrangler

When driving approximately 45 mph and above the entire car starts to violently shake. I don't know what part causes this problem. I've heard it could be : steering damper, ball joints, tie rods, track bar, front suspension damper cause this. Idk. Until I can afford to take it to a service shop and get it checked and repaired, it sits parked because I'm afraid to drive it. This started about a month ago. Jeep (stellantis) should be recalling and repairing all Wranglers with this problem not just newer models. My car has low miles but somehow got excluded from the lawsuit settlement apparently which is going by model years. This is a safety issue.

The tie rod (steering) randomly disconnected causing loss of steering at 10mph.

The contact owns a 2013 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the vehicle was running rough. Additionally, while the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle was slow to respond. While driving at highway speeds, ranging from 50-65 mph, if I take a turn that has a bump or am on a straightaway and hit a bump the entire car starts to violently shake, the steering wheel jerks left and right and it feel like the front tires are fishtailing. The only way to stop this violent oscillation is to slow the car down to under 45 mph which can be extremely difficult to do on the highway. I have talked with a couple of mechanics and a Jeep dealership and no one seems to know what could be causing the "death wobble". This happens randomly and without warning so I do not recall when it last happened. Therefore, I am choosing today's date in order to complete the form. I am also unsure of the exact mileage on my car when this happened since it has happened multiple times since I bought the car in 2013. I entered the approximate number of miles on the car when I remember the death wobble first occurring.

The airbag clock spring is not working. I've had nothing but problems with this Jeep. It's becoming too expensive to keep up with all the problems plus an expensive car note. This has been the most expensive car I had and had given me more repair problems then any other vehicle.

The front wheels wobble uncontrollably at high speeds (55mph). The steering wheel shakes and only considerable slowing and countermeasures can stop this horrifying problem. The condition is known as "Jeep death wobble" and if you look it up on google you can see video of precisely what is happening to my Jeep on the highway, on bridges, on curves while I am going fast. It happened at 20k they fixed it and it started to happen again around 75k. They know there is a serious problem.

I have 2013 Jeep wrangle unlimited. I bought this in 2013 for my wife. The Jeep had about 11,000 miles on it when we bought. The death wobble started occurring about 6-month into ownership. I aligned, balanced and replaced two tires. Now, the death wobble is an everyday occurrence. At 55 miles per hour, the wobble occurs.

Driving at 45 mph today on route 6 in swansea MA and the entire front end of my Jeep starts shaking to the point where I can't control it. I tried to slow down but the more I did the more the front end shook back and forth from side to side. I was able to pull off into a parking lot. I checked under the Jeep and there was no damage, the tire treads are not worn. The inflation of the tires is fine. I just hit 33,000, the truck was just introspected and had an alignment in September. Death rumble as I Ave read is common but there is no recall on this vehicle per your database. The truck is not safe to drive and due to the years is no longer under warranty. Recommending a recall based on the 1000s of reports of this online. Chrysler needs to make a change to make my vehicle safer.

The car and steering wheel starts to shake violently at any speed when road bumps or irregularities are encountered. This issue has resulted in loss of control and may cause injury or death. This has been named the "death wobble" by other Jeep owners. It has happened twice after dealer has replaced the steering damper. I feel the car will return to this state after the second fix and I am not satisfied with the fix.

My Jeep has a problem with the front tire aligment . The right and left tire wear to fast atd the auter side causing posible problem during handling on wet roads. I have take the Jeep to a shop to be alingn, but the mecanic toll me that the problen with my Jeep is the camber position and these position is set by the factory. The factory desent want to make the replacement of the front diferencial and the related component. What I can do to resolve these issue?.

At 50 mph I crossed a transition on an overpass at a 45 degree angel. The steering wheel shook so hard I could not keep my hands on it. I have heard of this issue called the "death wobble" but never experienced it. The way to stop it is to tap the breaks but I could not because I was on the interstate and there were cars behind me. It felt like the suspension had broken and I was going to pull over there were 2 lanes to the right with cars coming at highway speed. I made an appointment with the dealer and took my Jeep in the next night. The confirmed they know all about the death wobble but refer to it as the steering damper issue. I called Jeep and they filed an expedited claim process but did not call me back when promised. When I called again, they had someone call me the next working day. He said he has never heard of the issue. I questioned him about it and explained that it has been going on for years. He did not offer to do any thing. He had called the dealership but had the facts wrong. He is supposed to call me back.

On Friday March 14, 2014 I was driving with my 1 year old daughter on harmony church road (route 704) on my way to my son’s elementary school. My daughter was in a car seat in the back seat, directly behind the passenger seat. While en route, my 2013 Jeep Wrangler unlimited hit drifted to the shoulder of the road and the passenger side front tire was pulled into soft mud. I lost control of the vehicle. My vehicle was pulled to the right shoulder of the road and I went off the road. The vehicle struck a tree and various bushes. The loudoun county sheriff’s department and loudoun county fire and rescue responded to the scene. My husband and I recently put larger tires and rims on the Jeep and a 3” lift kit. My husband commented that with the larger tires and the raised height, the Jeep was more difficult to control on the road and I had noticed the vehicle visibly “wander” on the road when I had followed my husband while he was driving the Jeep. The sheriff’s department called my husband at home and he responded to the accident scene and took our daughter. I sustained injures in the collision, but my daughter was unharmed. The Jeep’s airbags failed to deploy and I sustained a fractured nose, facial lacerations, facial contusions and a contusion to my sternum. I was taken by ambulance to leesburg hospital at 224 cornwall street.

Several miles from home I crossed a bridge doing between 45 and 50 miles per hour and the Jeep started bouncing and shaking so bad (like it had 4 square tires) and veering to the left. I had no control of the vehicle as the steering wheel was shaking so hard I had trouble holding onto it. I braked really slow and kept it on the road till it came to a stop. I had just met a vehicle on a two lane country road (which are not very wide and no shoulder) and was lucky there was no one else coming towards me, otherwise it would have been a serious/fatal accident. The dealership looked at only to tell me there was nothing wrong with the Jeep and that I must did not know how to handle the vehicle on rough roads. My husband drove the Jeep for several months and nothing every happened to him. October 26, 2014. . . . Once again I was cruising down a highway doing 71 mph and the Jeep started bouncing all over the road. . . . . . I did not hit a bump or anything. Again felt like the Jeep had 4 square tires and I ended up with 3 venti coffees all over the inside of Jeep. Several miles later crossing a bridge at 35 mph the Jeep started shaking all over again. I left word with the salesmans as to what happened and once again the Jeep went in only to be told there is nothing wrong with the Jeep. Today (Jan. 9, 2015) my husband was driving the Jeep and crossed the same bridge when I had the first encounter with the shaking of the Jeep. . . . . . . . Now he believes me that there is something wrong with the Jeep. He called the salesman and told him what happened. . . . . . . Only to be told they would look into it. We are afraid to drive the Jeep because one of these times we will not be so lucky as to walk away from an accident. . . . . . We are afraid of us and another family getting killed. What does it take for this to be checked into seriously. . . . . . . . Someone or a whole family getting killed?.

Soon after I purchased my unmodified 2013 Jeep Wrangler (as new) I began to experience extreme front suspension vibration (death wobble) when encountering a bump in the road while traveling at 40-60 mph. Now, 6 years later I have experienced the issue hundreds of times and have spent countless thousands of dollars attempting to fix it, to no avail.
