Throttle Control Warning Light On problems of the 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Getting on the highway I reached the speed limit and merged into the right lane, when I eased off the throttle I noticed that the throttle physically stayed in place and the vehicle kept accelerating. I tapped the breaks and received the throttle position indicator alarm. I looked ahead to see how much room on the road I had and where other vehicles were, and I had some room. This is the first time this happened, although other I have read had the same problem. It was terrifying as the Jeep went up to 80 mph in a 60 mph zone before I arrested the situation.
