1 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 08/07/2025

The clock spring has failed. There is a current recall for the clock spring mechanisms in the 2011-2016 Jeep Wranglers. The vehicle has been inspected by a mechanic who informed me of the recall to begin with. The fuse for the clock spring (along with all the other fuses) are working as normal. There was no warning lights prior to the clock spring failure (however, I've been told that it's normal). The issue arose on 08/07/25. The 'step' button, 'reset' button, channel change paddle, volume change paddle, and the horn don't work. The airbag also might not work (haven't tested it out frankly). The cruise control buttons seem to work however I don't use cruise control in this vehicle. The vehicle is a 2017 rhd Jeep Wrangler unlimited sport.

6 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2023

2017 Jeep Wrangler with 40,000 miles. Passenger side impact - no air bags. 1. The safety restraint system. The vehicle is now repaired and yes I'd like the edr record examined for deployment criteria. Threshold, side safeing, algorithm, etc. 2. My safety was at risk, no air bags deployed, I suffered bruising and I hit my head on the driver side window. 3. No, the restraint control module/edr record was not investigated. 4. No, the system was not indicating any air bag tell tale lights and was functioning normal. Heading north on . . . , traveling 40 - 45 mph, was broadsided by a vehicle traveling west on . . . @ 30 mph . My airbags did not deploy.

7 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 09/03/2022

The airbag clockspring is defective. I know other years have a recall on the defective part. The cost of labor and the cost of the part is too expensive. I consider this a safety issue and feel like it should be under a recall like the previous model years.

15 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 05/14/2017

While driving under normal conditions, I'll hear a single audible 'ding' and then see the airbag and esp light illuminate on dash along with the speed odometer drop from the speed traveling to 0 before normal operation. This happens much more often when the cruise control in engaged. It happened 5/14/2017 while traveling interstate 65 to such an extent that not only did I have to cancel cruise control, I actually had to turn if off to stop the dinging and flashing of the airbag and esp light. I had to finish the last 2. 5 hours of interstate travel without cruise control.
