1 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 03/02/2026

I own a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The vehicle has a serious safety issue where the steering wheel shakes violently at freeway speeds, especially when driving over uneven roads or bumps. This makes the vehicle feel unsafe to operate. This issue was previously repaired under warranty with a steering damper replacement. However, the same problem has returned, indicating that the issue was not properly resolved. The dealership has recently verified the issue through a road test and confirmed the violent shaking condition. In addition, the vehicle currently has an active airbag warning light, and the dealership diagnosed a failed front right acceleration sensor. This raises concerns about the proper function of the airbag system in the event of a crash. I have contacted the manufacturer multiple times, but they have declined to provide assistance and have not been responsive. I am concerned that this vehicle has unresolved safety defects that could put the driver and passengers at risk.

2 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2025

I have brought my vehicle in for 3 time for the dealership to take a look at europe messages I have received. It is currently with them right now. As the start stop function is now not working. This happened while in the dealers possession and was working normally prior to me being it into the dealership. They said they repaired a vacuum leak. After the apportionment I noticed the start stop function wasn’t working and it said battery charging. I took my vehicle on a long drive to charge the auxiliary battery, but nothing changed. I brought the car back to the dealership and they are now saying they are not responsible as a battery can drain at any time. I have asked for dates on their obd scans but they either do not have them or are unwilling to provide them to me. I asked what systems the auxiliary battery affects other than the start stop function. They told me seat belts, dash lighting and obviously emission because the vehicle will not start and stop the way it is supposed to, and continues to run while sitting at a light or stopped in traffic. I am currently waiting on results regarding the start stop function.

3 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 11/11/2024

My vehicle started showing the airbag light on and it ended up being the clock spring, many Jeep Wranglers have being recalled because the same issue. The clock spring is the one that controls cruise, airbag, horn, traction, etc. I took it to the dealership and they said the vehicle was showing the b1b02 code, witch the the same why all the other Jeeps were recalled but there is not a recall yet for my year. I want to people be aware of the importance of it, because in a crash the airbag will not deploy and even not in a crash the cruise control could malfunction anytime. I got my vehicle repaired today for a total of $1137. 00 that wasn’t covered my extended warranty because they alleged the clock spring/airbag problem is reported very often. This is a really safety matter for all the Jeep owners!!!.

4 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2024

This is a 2018 Jeep Wrangler 2018 jku rhd and this vehicle starting to get the airbag light on and off in the dash! I brought it to a dealer to read it and they said the code is the b1b02 that means the clock spring is going out and it wasnt safe to drive it because the air bag will not deploy. Looking for all the info about it, I found out they have a recall is some specific years but why it is not a recall in the 2018 model when it is showing up the same symptoms and problems than the recalled years?.

5 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2024

During a high-speed collision/accident the vehicle had a high speed impact and rolled several times during the accident. The airbag system did not deploy as it should have the airbags in the seats for the sides, and the back did not deploy the driver of the vehicle myself was injured severely and ejected from the vehicle due to the airbags, not deploying, I sustained multiple injuries the only airbag that deployed was from the steering wheel which cause multiple rib fractures, and no other airbags were deployed the drivers seatbelt was locked, and could not be removed, unable to open the seatbelts.

6 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 03/14/2022

2018 Jeep Wrangler jk sport right hand drive. The contact stated while driving at 20 mph, the air bag warning light located behind the steering wheel illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that her VIN was not included in an unknown associated with the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.

7 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 10/28/2021

When driving, at random times my dash lights all come on and the following components say that they're unavailable: abs electronic stability control sway bar disconnect stop/start blind spot alert I will then lose my power steering. My speedometer, rpm, and fuel gauges will drop to 0. This has happened both when driving around the neighborhood and while driving on the highway. I have been to two different dealers three different times and they have been able to reproduce and confirm the issue. But they have been unable to fix the problem. Researching the issue myself, I have found several examples of other owners having this same problem. Examples can be found on carcomplaints. Com and jlwranglerforums. Com. I don't know how many other cars must have this issue before action is taken by the manufacturer, but I consider the loss of power steering and the airbag system a significant safety issue. My vehicle is available for inspection at any time.

8 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2021

Service air bag warning light comes on intermittently. Dealer wants me to drive car for 3 weeks before fixing or even looking at vehicle. From my research this has happened with many Jeeps. The vehicle has only 13,000 miles on it. I do not know whether my air bags will work in an accident or not.

9 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 09/27/2020

The wiring going to the steering column keeps shorting out making it so the horn, steering wheel electrical buttons and likely airbag stop working. The dealer says it is the clock spring. It has been going on since purchased with 12000 miles and replaced twice. At 22000 miles the dealer cannot keep it functional. I'm concerned that the lack of functional safety equipment could lead to injury or death. This also leads to loss of value if the manufacturer cannot provide a solution.

10 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 08/11/2018

Driving home from work - roughly 30 miles per hour when suddenly my Jeep pulled hard to the right. I had no control, bounced off a phone pole and my airbag went off. It felt as if something in the undercarriage simply gave out. I have now been without a vehicle for 6 weeks.
