2 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2025

Body: paint around door hinges is bubbling. Vehicle was purchased new in 2019, vehicle is not near salt water or driven in, harsh offroad conditions. Vehicle has been garaged daily since purchase and has 44,000 miles on it. Electrical: instrument cluster reboots and blanks out and speedometer stops working while driving. This vehicle was not included in previous recall #fca 30b, but the symptoms are identical to that recall. Vehicle has been taken to the dealer who has offered no insight as to what the problem may be. Dealer was shown a video of the problem happening while driving. The attached photo is taken from a video of the cluster while driving. Both the main battery and the auxiliary battery were replaced to see if that was an issue, it was not.

Corrosion around driver and passenger door hinges.

4 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2024

There is a water leak from the dash mirror that has not been repaired by the dealership 4 times that has been taken for the same issue. When it is raining, and vehicle is moving the water comes out of the mirror area and prevent a clear visibility in the traffic. It may damage the electrical connection that run by this area or and produces a metal corruption. . .

Issues with corrosion around door and hood hinges which risk weakening the structural strength of these panels. This issue is caused by the manufacturing process of using dissimilar metals and is a well documented issue with these vehicles.

6 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/20/2023

I noticed multiple of welds on my 2019 Jeep Wrangler's frame that have potential to catastrophically fail, including the front track bar bracket weld which was recalled for 2018 jl Wranglers. My local Jeep dealership (larry h miller Jeep in sandy utah), "inspected" the welds and said they were fine. However, they never had a welding inspector look at the welds, and when I brought this up with management I was kicked off of their property. I reached out to Chrysler customer service on 3/20/2023 and they said there was nothing they could/would do. This is a known problem in all Jeep jl Wranglers and I hope NHTSA will step in and force fca to buy back all jls with bad welds, before people start dying.

7 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/20/2023

Paint is bubbling a peeling on all doors next to the hinges. This is due to the fact that Jeep recently started using aluminum doors, which prematurely corrode around the steel hinges. Jeep has offered to repaint the areas where the paint has peeled off, which is obviously just a temporary fix. While this may seem like a cosmetic problem, it is indeed a major safety hazard as corroded door hinges significantly compromises the overall structural integrity of the vehicle.

8 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2022

Severe front in wobble. Took 3 visits to get it fixed. Bubbling paint, was in the shop 5 weeks for repaint. Loud whining noise in the drive train, still waiting on dealership to address, hopefully I won't get stranded in the mean time.

9 Body problem

Failure Date: 04/03/2021

Lowered the windshield per the user manual for the first time on 4/3/21. 2 of the 4 bolts holding the windshield to the frame were present but not tightened. Unknown if they loosened while operating the vehicle, which has approximately 20,000 miles currently, or whether they were loose from the factory.

10 Body problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2020

My Jeep if fully corroded and corroding on all seams of the vehicle. The paint is bubbling and chipping. Chrysler refuses to buy the car back.

11 Body problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2020

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the passenger’s and driver's side frame was rusted. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the sub frame needed to be repainted. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.

12 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/18/2020

Steering/wandering issue with 2019 unlimited sport stock tires/configuration. Seems dangerous on the road. Difficult to drive and return to straight after turning. Won't go back to straight after turning and seems to be a lot of slack in the steering.

13 Body problem

Failure Date: 12/05/2019

Jeep has less than 1,000 miles just left work about 10 minutes later driving on the freeway Jeep starting shaking vigorously I slowed down and started to pull over when I did it stopped so I began to drive again set an appointment at the dealer. I will not drive until it's inspected read articles and it sounds to be the Jeep death wobble or steering damper. Very scary experience.

14 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/27/2019

You can clearly see my welds are rusting, have pits in them, and their is excess slag visible on frame. I know this is an outstanding issue, but wanted to report my case as it appears to be what ive read about an investigation into this. Vehicle is only 5 months old off the dealers lot.

15 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2019

Frame welds have spatter and look incomplete. Images were taken November 1st when I heard about bad frame welds.

16 Body problem

Failure Date: 09/18/2019

I noticed steering play with the vehicle during some points its difficult to keep it in a lane especially during highway travel. Then when I was under the vehicle installing a trailer hitch I started noticing pitted, incomplete, disconnected and (possibly rusty) welds on a vehicle that has a build date of only two months prior.

17 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/28/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. While driving 50 mph, the rear passenger side panel located behind the passenger door (also called the soft top) abpruptly detached and released into traffic. The panel failure caused the vehicle's cabin to be exposed. There were no injuries or a crash due to the failure. The vehicle was taken to larchmont Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge (2533 boston post road, larchmont NY, 10538 (914) 636-3030) and the dealer stated that they would order the replacement part. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 59750760. The failure mileage was 4,500.

18 Body problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2019

Poor weld quality on the frame that questions its safety. Nearly all welds on the frame are chipping and beginning to rust. I noticed this within the first 2 months of ownership. I live in a dry climate. Some welds have holes. The images I have provided are some samples. Nearly all welds look like the welds in the photos.

19 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/06/2019

Driving high way speeds hit a grove in the road on the highway and the whole front end turns to jello. The steering feel violently shakes to the point where you lose steering. You can't get over to slow down to slower speeds and you cannot grip the steering wheel too tight because the vibration will have no where to go and you will eventually flip over. The only thing to stop the vibration is to slow down which is impossible on a highway where everyone is driving 75mph. I have attempted to have this fixed twice. Jeep keeps trying to put a steering damper on it that does not work. They refuse to check for welding work or anything else manufactured defective that would cause the issue. This has happened multiple times March 2019 and October 2019 are the date I sent it in for service. Please help us consumers I have children and its not safe.
