2 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2026

I was driving on the interstate and when I went over a little bump my truck started to shake like it was going to loose control. I read up on this and people who own Jeeps refer to it as the death waddle is there a recall on this issue.

3 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 12/27/2025

Concern: suspension, steering, and electrical system malfunction description of the problem: while driving at highway speeds (approximately 75 mph), the vehicle experiences a wiggling or unstable sensation in the suspension, making the car feel unsafe. At the same time, the steering wheel becomes stiff and difficult to turn. Additionally, a warning message appears stating “service shifter. ” when this occurs, the electrical system freezes, affecting vehicle functions. This electrical malfunction lasts for 1 to 2 days, during which systems do not respond properly before eventually resetting on their own. Safety concern: the suspension instability, loss of steering responsiveness, and electrical failure at high speeds present a serious safety risk to the driver and others on the road. Request: requesting a full inspection of the suspension, steering system, shifter system, and electrical components, including any sensors or modules that may be causing these failures.

4 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/24/2025

The steering wheel started to shake and then escalated to the whole car shaking at which time I had to stop the vehicle on the highway to make it stop shaking. This isn’t the first time this has happened.

5 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/25/2025

My 2019 Jeep Wrangler sahara with 2. 0 liter turbo engine has had two failed “rear axle assemblies or differentials” within 3 years of each other. The first time was in July 2022, and my service repair order says rear diff replacement. Now this time, my dealer is saying we need the whole rear axle assembly which is on national back order. No current eta for delivery, with no additional info other than none are even in production at this time. Since my vehicle is under warranty for another 4,000 miles or so, I would like to use stellantis warranty for my repair. However, they are no help and are saying we cannot order a different oe part, or a used part. The vehicle is unsafe to drive as I can feel my loss of control especially on wet roads in florida. After searching the internet I have found this is a common problem with the sport, and sahara versions from 2018-2025. Now that we can’t even get replacement parts, it creates a whole other set of problems. I would like to mention everything is factory on my Jeep and I have never been off roading. Not even once. So 2 failed rear axles is just unacceptable.

6 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2024

Our 2019 Jeep recently experienced the “death rattle” where the steering and suspension shake violently at speeds 65 mph and above. This recently occurred on a 70 mph freeway and nearly caused a sideswipe accident with a large semi as I was thrown from my travel lane. The Jeep owners forum (and fiat Chrysler America) know about this issue with the steering dampener, but neither the NHTSA nor fca has seen fit to issue a warning or recall. Our Jeep is never taken off-road and is under 60,000 miles. We are the original owners, and the Jeep is currently with the dealer.

7 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/31/2024

Our rear axle broke while driving on the highway 600 miles from home with our 2 children. Vehicle was towed to the dealership where it was confirmed. Vehicle has now sat for 3 months because the part is on backorder. It seems as though this is a common issue if they can't keep up with the part needed. There is no warning lights or any way to know this happens until you get stuck. We had the vehicle in the shop not long before getting brakes and an inspection and there were no issues noted.

8 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/02/2024

While driving on interstate highyway aproximately 65 mph and passing over a bridge the front end started shaking violently. I hit the brakes and it finally stopped as I slowed. It did this 6 times on the same trip and has repeated multiple times. I took it to the dealer and told them it had done this when I first bought it and they said they would have to evalaute it. When I first bought the car it had 19k miles on it with this death wobble. They said it needed a recall accomplished and it never happened again. Now the car has 71k miles on it and it is happening again. The dealer says they have to order a part. I believe the car is unsafe to drive on an interstate with this condition. Also owners with similar Jeeps have to be aware that this condition which was fixed with a recall can return after so many miles. They will not tell me the component or part number of the component.

9 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2024

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 65 mph on a bumpy road surface, the vehicle experienced the death wobble. The contact stated that the steering wheel and the front end of the vehicle shuddered significantly. The contact decelerated to approximately 55 mph, and the vehicle operated as needed. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

10 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/24/2024

The car is having electrical issues that the dealer service is unable to diagnose. They have since ordered a part but they are not certain that this will fix the problem. The car has been in service 3 times. Twice for an uncontrollable shaking that comes from no where, this has fixed the problem temporarily, however it continues. If I hit highway speeds the car shakes making it difficult to drive. The electrical issue for lack of a better word causes the car to stop as there is no acceleration at this point, making it difficult and extremely dangerous to drive. I drive an hour and half to work with fear. I don't want to cause an accident nor do I want anyone else getting hurt. The car has had issues since we first bought it. But thought ok, they are trying to fix the issues so have said nothing until now. Now the electrical system fails causing the care to be undrivable. We had to already have it towed to the dealer. Paid for the diagnostic issue which resulted in nothing and paid for a rental car.

11 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/21/2024

Rear upper coil spring pockets weld failures on vehicle found during inspection.

12 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/12/2024

I hit a bump at 65 mph. Then my Jeep started to shake from side to side so viciously that I thought it was going to fall apart. I did some research and it’s called a death wobble! for some reason there are no recalls on my specific vehicle .

13 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2024

Sometime in January of 2019, while living in florida my Jeep had recall work done to make repairs related to the “death wobble” prevalent in 2018-2020 Jeeps. In 2020, after purchasing the vehicle, I experienced the death wobble. I then took my vehicle in to orlando Chrysler, and was informed that when the recall repair was done, the part involved was installed backwards. The completed the necessary repair. I had not experienced the situation again until yesterday, when I picked up my Jeep from the Dodge dealership in greenville, south carolina, where another recall was being dealt with. I returned to the dealership and was told in no uncertain terms they did nothing, and because there are no outstanding recalls on the vehicle related to the death wobble, they are under no obligation to do anything about it, including checking to see if the previously recalled parts that were replaced need replacing again. However, as it is occurring again my Jeep is once again unsafe to drive.

14 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/24/2024

While driving at interstate speed and passing over an irregular surface the Jeep started to shimmy and I later found out it was called "death wobble". The Jeep started to wonder across the lanes of the highway and I had to slow to 45 mph to stop the shimmy and get control of the vehicle, I assume the the problem is in the steering or the front suspension. After talking to a mechanic I found out that a recall has already been performed to replace the steering vibration damper. The mechanic could not find any loose or damaged front end parts upon inspection. Since the initial incident the shimmy has happened multiple times at slower and slower speeds. There was no prior warning by the Jeep instrument panel.

15 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2024

When driving over 55 + Jeep shakes violently also does the same when going in reverse. Rollover warning ?? light is constantly on warning me not to drive over a certain mph. Diagnostic test came back as faulty suspension.

16 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2024

While driving the last couple days, our 2019 Jeep Wrangler rubicon unlimited started the “death wobble”, an uncontrollable violent shaking from left to right. Occurred three days in a row, took vehicle to Jeep dealership to ensure extended warranty coverage.

17 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2024

1st problem was death wobble on highway took to dealer fix, 2nd problem was death wobble on highway tire rods fixed. 3rd problem stealing lock on highway and car wobbling. Towing to dealer. All times car had to be towed. All times going 50 on highway which has been dangerous.

18 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 02/22/2024

Had damper replaced due to death wobble at 39k miles under extended warranty related to fca lawsuit. At 59k miles experienced same death wobble and nearly crashed at highway speeds. Took it in and they said the cause was the tie rods were bad, damper was within threshold, but would replace it too as a courtesy and abundance of caution. Wouldn’t do damper replacement without tie rod fix though. Didn’t have damper and would take 5 days to get in (1 day for tie rod part), but when I stated I wanted to repair it they miraculously came up with all the parts and had it finished before tie rod part even showed up. My complaint is that the original fca lawsuit where they replaced damper was a bandaid for the real problem which is the tie rods. I paid the $2500 but will be pushing this up the chain of command. I know the lawsuit alluded to the damper not being the root of the problem but a cheaper fix for Jeep. The entire experience has been shady at best. Stew hansen’s in des moines, iowa was the service department.

19 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2023

I bought this 2019 Jeep Wrangler and it is still under manufacturer warranty on the transmission and the steering damper . The transmission in my car was leaking bad and I took it to the Jeep dealership and they did not know what was wrong or how to fix it . They are all incompetent and stupid and unprofessional and know nothing about cars also the recall on the steering damper was done 2 years ago and now I had to replace it because the car was dangerously shaking very bad . The transmission is still under manufacturer warranty and I took it to another shop and he fixed the leak in the transmission and he said it’s it’s the cooler line connector in the transmission so this repair that cost me 478 dollars should be refunded to me from Jeep manufacturer since it’s still under warranty.

20 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/26/2023

When driving at speeds of approximately 45+ the front end for no apparent reason begins to violently shake back & forth making the vehicle impossible to control. You must immediately put on the brakes to slow the vehicle until the wobbling stops. This has progressively gotten worse. It’s what is referred to as the Jeep death wobble. It is in the shop now waiting to be looked at.

21 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/26/2023

My 2019 Jeep Wrangler steering wheel starts to vibrate then shake and then the car shakes while I am driving on the highway. It happened 4 times in the last week. One time last week , 2 times last night and once tonight while driving on the highway.

22 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2023

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 55–73 mph, the vehicle was shaking violently. While driving over a bump in the road, the vehicle was uncontrollable. The contact pulled over several times to regain control over the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.

23 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2023

I have had a multitude of problems with this vehicle since driving it off the lot. The most recent “the Jeep death wobble”.

24 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 09/10/2023

Consistently getting a warning that the axel locking system needs serviced. Mentioned to dealership and they said could affect how my 4 wheel drive will work or not be able to use the 4 wheel drive when needed.

25 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 04/28/2023

The front axle steering stabilizer shock/damper failed at approximately 36 months after delivery, to the point where the the front end shakes violently when the vehicle goes over a bump at highway speeds and the front tires hit the bump at diffferent times, I. E. , diagonal overpass joint. This is a known issue, commonly referred to as "death wobble. " stellantis has settled a class action lawsuit related to this phenomon, reynolds, et. Al. Vs fca us llc, and extended the vehicle warranty for this issue to 8 years and 90,000 miles. That's all well and good. Here's the problem: there are no parts available. Jeep has sourced a fox shox steering stabilizer but it has been on continual backorder since October 2022. My vehicle was diagnosed in November 2022. I can't get a part at least until the end of summer 2023. An extended warranty doesn't help if I can't get the unsafe condition fixed. There is another fox shox product available that will solve this problem but it is a more expensive part. There are also other suppliers that can provide an acceptable part. Jeep has shown zero urgency to take care of their customers, and fox shox is obviously overwhelmed with the demand. Stellantis and Jeep need to act with more urgency to find sufficient parts to fix the affected vehicles, even if it means sourcing a higher-priced part.

26 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 04/28/2023

I purchased this vehicle used and out of warranty in February of this year 2023. I've had continuous issues with the steering. I have contacted my local dealerships explaining my issues. I've contacted fca explaining my issues. By both I'm told I need to bring my vehicle in for a diagnostic test that will cost me $250 plus dollars and then any repair will cost out of pocket. The vehicle wonders while driving at speeds any speed, but more so at highway speeds, I have almost 2" of slop in my steering wheel, a shimmy in the front and have experienced death wobble numerous times. My family will not ride in my Wrangler and I personally feel it is unsafe as well. I have already personally replaced ball joints and an aftermarket steering stabilizer in hopes of correcting these issues. I learned that fca is aware of an issue with the aluminum steering gear of which my Wrangler still has. I also learned of a TSB for the steering stabilizer, track bar and software update for the power steering itself. As previously stated all my symptoms are exactly as these TSB's describe, and I had no knowledge of them prior to purchasing and experiencing these issues.

27 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 03/06/2023

When I was driving on a plane road with no bumps my steering wheel started to shake violently making the whole car and dashboard shake. I’ve called Jeep to inform them but they said it is not covered and there is no recall for my vehicle instead want to run a diagnostic and have me pay for the repairs and diagnostic even though it’s a leased vehicle.

28 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2023

Was driving interstate in san diego, CA about 65 mph and on 4 different occasions when I hit a bump or rough patch of road the front end of the car and steering wheel started shaking violently. It was hard to control the vehicle and I had nowhere I could go because I was in traffic at high speeds. Was finally able to move over to a side lane and slow the vehicle down which caused the shaking to stop. No lights of any kind came on in the vehicle. Very dangerous for this to be happening on CA roads with such heavy traffic. Not only does it put me at risk, but others as I have to slow down to 40-45 mph for the shaking to stop. Will be taking it in to dealership for inspection. As I have researched. . . This appears to be another case of the "death wobble".

29 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/30/2023

I have been experiencing the death wobble ever since I bought the Jeep. I’ve brought it back to the dealer 2 times and they just told me to get different tires. I spent 1,500 on new tires and still experience the same thing. When I go over bumps or bridge seams on the freeway, my entire front end wobble out of control almost causing me to crash every time. My kids are terrified to drive in the Jeep, and I keep asking for it to be fixed before someone gets hurt. Date of incident would be from Aug 30, 2021 to today Feb 31, 2023. It’s every time I drive on the freeway.

30 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/25/2023

I have experienced the death wobble 4-5 times. The dealer says they have already replaced the steering damper once already. I am concerned there are more issues with the steering system on this Jeep.

31 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2023

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, the vehicle started vibrating and shaking abnormally. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the tires to be balanced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,000.

32 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/24/2022

Death wobble where the Jeep shakes so violently that you can lose control. It has done this since new. I take it back to the dealer and they say Jeep is aware of the problem and they are working on a fix. Jeeps fix is a replacement steering damper. When I reported it to the dealer, I was told I had to wait until a fix was released. Finally at 2125 miles they replaced the first damper. On the way home it death wobbled again. I had to wait again; at 2285 miles they replaced the track bar. The Jeep didn't handle or feel right but it didn't death wobble until thanksgiving 2022 250 miles from home. I brought it back in and they replaced the steering damper again at 14668 miles. I was told by the service department there are over 6000 dampers on back order. This needs to be a recall since it affects thousands of Jeep Wranglers. My wife refuses to drive the Jeep.

33 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/23/2022

“death wobble” is happening on highway when going over 65mph. Took it to the dealership and said there is nothing wrong with the Jeep. Steering wheel shakes violently causing entire vehicle to rattle. Very scary and hard to control.

34 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/22/2022

Bought a used 2019 Jeep Wrangler with approx 17000 miles. At speeds between 60-75 mph on highway roads that have small bumps and or divots, the front axle begins a divergent shudder and wobble side to side that is uncontrollable. It has happened now 7 times. In traffic I have almost caused accidents because the vehicle is not controllable with the steering wheel. At highway speeds, the only way to make the divergent wobble decrease and go away is to immediately step on the brakes in an emergency mode, hope you don't get rear ended and pull off the road. The vehicle has been inspected in detail by two different organizations. I have had the alignment checked, it's perfect. Shocks are perfect. Everything is fine, accept, when the perfect harmonic is reached on a bump at highway speeds, the front axle goes ballistic and makes the vehicle uncontrollable. This is a safety issue that has/will kill people. There are no warning lamps or caution lights. The vehicle is in perfect condition.

35 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/07/2022

No warning. Driving down the road at 45 or above taking a curve and hitting a bump in the road the Jeep starts bouncing and the steering starts jerking. I have been informed that there is a law suit stating that this is because of front suspension steering damper.
