Failure Date: 07/08/2024

Jeep issued a recall number 19a in 2022. It's been two years with the company providing no solution or fix. The vehicle is designed for off-road use. The recall states that the failure could cause a fire. I would not like to be off-road and cause a fire in the forest. I've called the company multiple times.

37 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2024

July 2024 – driving over 40 mph the rubicon on a busy two-lane highway with my [xxx] and lost all acceleration. Interior warning lights started flashing with the warning, “service electric throttle control. ” as this was up hill, there I nearly started going backwards and two vehicles swerved around me as I was able to pull over. As cars honked that drove by, I turned the vehicle off which was at this point, making a rattling/wobbling noise. I turned the vehicle back on and off at least three times, with hybrid vehicle working. As I was two miles from home, I was able to get back with the vehicle dropping acceleration (with no horsepower and no ability to go on gas mode) twice until I rolled back in basically neutral. We called usaa to have the vehicle immediately towed to Jeep rairdon in kirkland, wa. Jeep rairdon said they would do an inspection three days later where they will assess if we can get a loaner. It’s sitting in their service lot with no info. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

38 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/28/2024

About a week ago the light for the rear axel locked activated while driving in 2h. It comes on and off while driving sporadically. I called the dealer and the earliest appointment they have is for oct 2024 which I had no choice but to take the appointment. Yesterday 7 July 2024 I checked the sensor for the rear axel for damages and cleaning. Nothing seemed burnt or worn out except when I cleaned the connector coming out from the axel it had traces of fresh oil. Oil is coming out through the sensor.

40 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/18/2024

I took my 2021 Jeep Wrangler to the dealership for the clutch recall, which has been completed. However, my Jeep is now stalling and they cannot seem to figure out what the problem is. They repeatedly tell me that it is a "software issue" but there is not resolution to this software issue. My vehicle cannot be safely driven. Each time the clutch is released and the gas is engaged, the vehicle stalls. There was an announcement sent to dealerships to suspend the completion of the recalls on 2021 Jeep Wranglers as there is an issue. Additional communication was expected on June 27, 2024. The service manager at the dealership called me yesterday to inform me that the Jeep engineers are aware of the problem but there is no fix and there is not anticipated timeline on the fix.

Unexpected unwarned complete loss of all motive power while driving on a 4 lane main road. The Jeep lost all power, no ice power and no elec motor power. Dash message said put vehicle in park to restart - at the time I was going about 45mph in the left lane of a 4 lane. Vehicle coasting and decelerating as I was on flat terrain. Was luckily able to get safely to the shoulder. Vehicle restarted after putting it in park, then drove normally with nothing out of the ordinary, no more messages, no warning or check engine lights.

44 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/29/2024

There has been an open recall 19a/NHTSA 23v-116 on my vehicle's clutch since February of 2023. Last summer (2023) a dealer told me they didn't know when the part would be available. Last week another dealer told me the same thing and that he had seen some clutches on the jl Wrangler fail. This is a significant risk to me because I take this vehicle on off road trails with features require frequent and sometimes prolonged use of the clutch. The manufacturer, stellantis/fca, has exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall remedy what's incredible to me is that in July 2015 NHTSA issued a consent order because fca was failing to address over 20 recalls in a reasonable amount of time, and here they are doing the same thing!.

46 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/16/2024

After a period of 10 minutes in stop-and-go traffic, a shift warning light indicated on the warning panel. All the lights for the gear shift lever would light up individually. The vehicle turned off the stability control system and indicated a warning to proceed driving however the vehicle may not be able to shift into park. After about 3 miles of driving, it felt like the power steering stopped working and it was extremely difficult to control and turn the vehicle. It also felt like the vehicle would not shift properly. Once the vehicle was to the side of the road, it indicated that the vehicle was not in park despite moving the gear shift lever to park. The vehicle would not turn off of accessory mode. Had whatever happened to the power steering happened at any higher rate of speed, the vehicle would have been impossible to control in a turn or traffic. It took every bit of arm strength to coax the vehicle to the side of the road.

50 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 02/05/2024

Driving down a freeway at 65+ mph, I was changing gears from 4th gear into 5th gear. As I was changing gears the blew the clutch. I couldn't get it to any gear at all. I could barely stop and get over in traffic. The clutch was doing a few odd things in the preview couple days before it went bad. I was head to get gas then to the dealership when that issue happened. There was no warning lights at all. The Jeep only had 3,600 miles on it. It was a 2021 Jeep unlimited rubicon the safely of me and others was at risk. The Jeep could have caught on fire or blew up. It was scary! the Jeep is currently at a certified Jeep dealer. 54 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/23/2023

I was driving about 68 mph on the highway in my 2021 Jeep Wrangler unlimited and experienced what is commonly known as the "death wobble. " my steering wheel shook with such force that my Jeep veered into the right lane next to me that was thankfully empty. I thought my front wheels were going to come right off of the axle, so I pulled over and removed my children from my car from fear of what else the Jeep was going to do next.

55 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/22/2023

Recall (b9a) has been out since November of 2023. The recall states "an internally failed hv battery could lead to a vehicle fire with the ignition on or off. A vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and/or injury to persons outside the vehicle, as well as property damage. " as of today, no 'remedy' is available. In the mean time, can't charge the car. Driving the car would seem to be 'unwise' as the risk seems to be with the 'ignition on or off'. Can't park the car in my garage. Can't drive it to work as my employer doesn't want the liability should an issue arise. Been waiting patiently for a remedy - so far nothing but static.

56 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2023

Was informed of this recall back in November of 2023. It is approximately 3 months later, and the dealership has heard nothing from stellantis about how to repair this recall. I also have heard nothing from stellantis. In the mean time, I cannot fully use the vehicle in the manner it was made, which is why I made the purchase.

61 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2023

My 2021 4xe Wrangler rubicon has already had the loss of motive power recall performed a year ago. Jeep stated that the recall software update would prevent this incident. It is not corrected!!! yesterday, while traveling on I-70 near virginia at about 70 mph (the speed limit), the Jeep displayed a Jeep vehicle with the phev high voltage cables and battery pack diagram drawn over the Jeep in bright red color. No codes happened at all when this appeared (no check engine light, no service indicators, nothing). Some words quickly flashed on the dash display stating something like, "loss of performance" and the engine shutdown completely and the "d" next to shifter binked yellow continuously afterwards. The dash then stated to shift vehicle into park to restart (while still coasting at nearly 70 mph). I managed to coast it to the emergency lane, stop the Jeep, shift into park and restart. It then would not run even remotely normal, because it was in a safety mode of some sort. Again, with the engine running completely erratically, no coding at all. When I pressed the accelerator like normal, it would not respond at all (even putting it to the floor had no affect). I had to figure out how to get the accelerator to work so I could drive it back home. I had to gently press the pedal to get it to respond and then the Jeep would not go above about 2500 rpm. It would force itself to slow down if it reached any higher rpm. I went to the local Jeep dealership ASAP today and was told nothing was recorded in the computer, software is up to date, and there is nothing wrong with my Jeep. This is a serious problem and has to be diagnosed and fixed!!!!.

62 Power Train problem

Please hold Jeep accountable for their lack of remedy for this clutch safety recall that they have done zero about.

63 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/04/2023

I discovered this safety recall Nov. 2023. The recall was opened 2/2023. I found an article in car and driver from 2/2021 that described this issue. Jeep leased me this vehicle even though the defect was already known. I am 3 years into a 4 year lease. Because of this inactivity is solving this recall (and a bad case of "death wobbles) I want to terminate this lease without penalty. I just want to get rid of this unsafe vehicle.

64 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/09/2023

While driving the "service shifter" warning appeared in the center cluster notification area repeatedly. There was reduced vehicle performance and a continuous chime alert from the vehicle. Turned the vehicle off, waited several minutes and then turned the vehicle back on and the "service shifter" warning appeared again with the continuous chime audio alert.

67 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/13/2023

Driving 75 down interstate and the vehicle just lost all power yet everything was "on" like normal and no check engine light- nothing. Would not allow me to accelerate or go over 45mph. It is like it would not shift gears. I stopped twice and turned the vehicle off but it did the same thing. Took it to the dealer and on day 2 (6 days later from initial incident) of them driving it, it did same with them but would not allow them to travel over 30 mph. They state it is not showing any codes and they don't know what is wrong. This is very dangerous while on a busy highway and going 75 to all the sudden lose power to your vehicle with no control and it quickly deaccelerates to 45pmh! I almost got hit multiple times as most people were driving 80mph plus! my vehicle is only 2 years old and less than 30k miles. Something is clearly wrong but not showing any codes so noone knows!.

Jeep clutch started slipping. Startig smelling a burning smell. Took it to the dealership. Service tech took it down the road to see for himself. While he was driving it he noticed debris on the road in the rearview and realized it was coming from the Jeep. He pulled over and the hood was red hot. The Jeep then caught on fire and burnt up! total loss. The Jeep only had 28000 miles on it and still under warranty.

70 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/27/2023

Clutch pressure plate disintergrated causing vehicle to catch fire and burn completely to the ground. . When clutch pressure plate failed, engine shut off, luckily I was able to coast to a stop in an unpopulated area. . . No warning lamps came on until the catastrophic failure, message simply said "clutch". . .
