56 problems related to equipment have been reported for the 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Please also check out the statistics and reliability analysis of the 2022 Jeep Wrangler based on all problems reported for the 2022 Wrangler.

1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2026

Vehicle communication failures. One point unable to start the vehicle. Then the wipers and all warning lights came on without being able to turn the vehile off. Had to disconnect both batteries while the wipers destroyed themselves on a dry windshield. This is also causing a service shifter warning light then total loss of power steering while driving down the road at any speed. This includes highway speeds. Dealer replaced power steering system with no resolution. Thousands of dollars in repair. Dealer stated they repaired wiring. Did not fix the issue. Now it is more intermittent. When the communication between modules is not functioning properly it disables the power steering even while driving. This is extremely dangerous and I can no longer trust my vehicle. There are thousands of reports and or reviews about this issue. Someone has to be held accountable. I have spent thousands and my dealer spent weeks trying to resolve the issue. Jeep has roughly 37000 miles. This is an on going issue since October of 2025.

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/11/2026

There is a class action lawsuit for 2021-2023 Jeeps where the power steering catches fire. That happened to us.

3 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/26/2026

The steering and front suspension system malfunctioned. The vehicle experiences a severe “death wobble,” violent and uncontrolled shaking/oscillation of the steering wheel and front end after hitting bumps or uneven pavement, especially at higher speeds. The suspected affected components may include the steering linkage, track bar, steering damper/stabilizer, ball joints, tie rods, control arms, bushings, alignment/caster, or other front suspension/steering components. The defect causes violent steering wheel and front-end shaking while driving, creating a loss of stable steering control. When the wobble occurs, the vehicle becomes difficult to control and I have to slow down significantly to regain control. This creates a serious risk of a crash, especially at highway speeds, in traffic, on curves, or if another driver is nearby. The first time it happened I was on the highway near two tractor trailers who recognized the issue and slow down for me too. The condition puts me, my passengers, other motorists, pedestrians, and anyone near the roadway at risk because the vehicle can suddenly become unstable after normal road bumps or pavement irregularities. The problem has been brought to an local mechanic 3 times for repair or diagnosis, but the issue has not been resolved. The vehicle continues to experience the same severe steering/front-end wobble after those repair attempts. As of this complaint, the issue has not yet been formally diagnosed or resolved by an authorized Jeep dealer. I am filing this complaint because the condition remains unresolved and I believe it is a serious safety defect. The vehicle has been inspected and repaired by an local mechanic on 3 occasions related to this issue. The healy dealership fixed the last recall right before this. I called them on the way home from the dealership when it first happened. There were no warning lamps or dashboard message before the wobble occurred. Became more aggressive in Jan 2026.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/08/2026

The vehicle poses a fire risk not allowing the vehicle to be parked under structures and the vehicle cannot be charged even though it is a plug-in hybrid vehicle. There is an active recall and this is not the first one. The fix for the recall is a software update that can shut off the high voltage battery if an issue is encountered which leaves the vehicle in limp mode, which is dangerous when traveling on the highway. If a new battery is required, the same faulty style batteries are exchanged. Stellantis is not addressing the car issues appropriately.

5 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2026

The vehicle is a Jeep Wrangler 4xe with approximately 43,000 miles experiencing a recurring electrical system malfunction involving the body control module (bcm) and lin communication network. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and is available for inspection upon request. The failure involves multiple electrical circuits and communication loss between modules, confirmed by dealership diagnostic codes including bcm b1642-15, b1646-15, b16d7-15, b16df-15, and u1123-00 (lost communication with lin ecu). This condition presents a safety risk due to intermittent stalling/shutdown while driving, electrical system instability, and failure of critical systems including exterior lighting and hvac. These issues create unpredictable vehicle operation and reduced safety for occupants and others on the road. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealership over at least four separate service visits, for which documentation is available. Despite repeated repair attempts, the condition has not been resolved and the same faults continue to return. The vehicle has been inspected multiple times by the dealership. The manufacturer, stellantis, has been contacted but has declined further escalation or engineering review, citing warranty expiration. Warning indicators, including the check engine light, have repeatedly appeared prior to and immediately after service visits. Additional symptoms include intermittent heater failure while driving, system-wide electrical malfunctions, and abnormal noises. This is an ongoing, unresolved electrical system failure involving repeated unsuccessful repair attempts and presents a continuing safety concern.

The dealership refuses to perform the 68c recall for my 4xe Wrangler, [xxx] they said they are worried that there will be a glitch with the recall and they will have to hold on to my Jeep for 3-4 weeks until a battery replacement is available. They don’t want to do this because there are already 3 cars in the dealership awaiting the same battery replacement. Given the seriousness of the recall (battery fires), this seems like an unsafe response to the recall. They mentioned they’ve been turning multiple cars away with this recall and that they have other recalls for other models to also worry about. This is coming from southern cdjr newport news; 12629 jefferson avenue; newport news, va; 23602; 757-350-8747 information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. 7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/17/2025

I own a 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe with ongoing warranty-covered hybrid system defects, including a hybrid coolant valve failure that could cause the vehicle to shut down while driving, creating a serious safety risk. The vehicle is also subject to an active high-voltage battery fire-risk recall, further affecting safety and reliability. The vehicle has been in the shop since Wednesday and Jeep has not provided a loaner or direct rental vehicle, leaving my family without transportation. Due to the combination of safety risks and loss of use, I am requesting: •immediate manufacturer action to repair the defects •direct rental coverage while the vehicle is in the shop •escalation of my formal buyback request for executive review I am submitting this complaint to ensure that these safety and warranty-related issues are addressed promptly.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/07/2025

I was pulling into a parking spot outside of a costco and suddenly the car began to accelerate uncontrollably, and I couldn't stop the car. It ended up hitting the car in front of me, pushing it out of the spot and then hit the car next to us. Fortunately, there was no one in any of the cars hit but the entire experience was completely terrifying, and someone could have been seriously injured. The police were called and there was a police report filed. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer or insurance company since it just occurred yesterday and the police said that the report wouldn't be ready for 3-5 business days. We also contacted the dealership where we purchased the vehicle, and they advised us to contact Jeep's customer service.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/11/2025

All 4xe batteries are faulty and need to be replaced. Jeeps software "fix" did nothing last recall and won't fix the same problem again. We need new batteries! please!.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/08/2025

I am submitting this supplemental statement regarding my previously filed complaint involving a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. On November 8, 2025, I was involved in a crash that resulted in bodily injury, including head, neck, and back pain, and required post-accident inspection and towing. Despite the nature of the impact and the injuries sustained, the frontal airbag system did not deploy. The manufacturer, stellantis, conducted an inspection through a third-party contractor and advised via email that the airbag system did not deploy because the deceleration threshold was allegedly not met. However, I have not been provided with the event data recorder (edr) data, crash pulse analysis, sensor performance evaluation, or the technical criteria relied upon to reach this conclusion. Given the vehicle damage, injuries sustained, and non-deployment of the frontal airbags, I am concerned that the airbag system may not have functioned as intended or that the deployment thresholds, sensor inputs, or system calibration may be defective or unreasonable. I respectfully request that NHTSA review this incident for potential safety defects related to airbag non-deployment, crash detection thresholds, sensor performance, or system logic in the 2022 Jeep Wrangler.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/08/2025

Component/system failure: airbag system failed to deploy during a rollover accident. The vehicle flipped, and no airbags deployed despite the severity of the crash. The vehicle is currently impounded and available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: my safety was put at risk because the airbags did not deploy during a rollover, increasing the risk of head, neck, and back injury. I experienced head, neck, and back pain following the accident and sought emergency medical care. Reproduction / confirmation: unknown. The issue has not yet been reproduced or formally confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. Inspections performed: the vehicle has been inspected by police and insurance representatives following the crash. The manufacturer has not yet inspected the vehicle. Warnings or prior symptoms: no specific airbag warning lights were present at the time of the crash. However, the vehicle had ongoing mechanical issues prior to the accident, including repeated service visits and unresolved performance concerns. The exact relationship between these prior issues and the airbag non-deployment is unknown.

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/31/2025

Electronic cabin heater- ev/ hybrid component that acts as a heating element when driving in electric mode. Common issue since the Chrysler pacifica ehybrid plug in vehicle was manufactured. Safety: extreme temperatures we’ve experienced would prevent heat from dispersing in the engine cabin and potential damage to engine/ ev components due to no thermal regulation. Has been reproduced and replaced. Specific to Jeep Wrangler 4xe (2021+): “electric mode unavailable; cabin heating/cooling” check engine light with dtc codes p0e80-00 and p0e15-00 present on dash. First appeared October 31st, 2025.

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/14/2025

10/14/2025 approximately 0745 cst I had just exited off a 70mph state hwy on my normal route to work. My 2022 Wrangler 4xe seemed to “glitch” and loose power, no systems available and then kicked back on but in lower gear. I am current on all recalls and service. Currently mileage is just under 30,000.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/10/2025

Turtle mode was activated for the 5th time on my Jeep while driving on the highway. Was in traffic at the time and was beginning acceleration when it went into turtle mode. I was able to slowly go across 1 lane of traffic to pull over. I was able to pull over. While I was on the shoulder the turtle mode went away and I was able to resume my drive. If I have been going the speed limit when this happened I and other could have been severely injured if my car suddenly lost power.

15 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/05/2025

Loss of motive power - will be driving on the interstate and the car will suddenly go into turtle mode with no warning and the car will abruptly slow down to a slow crawl. Took to dealer they could not find a diagnostic code so in their mind there is nothing to fix (currently still at dealer). This has happened to me 4 times.

Subject: urgent safety complaint regarding Jeep with death wobble – purchased from maxon Buick GMC, union, NJ dear NHTSA, I am writing to report a serious safety issue involving a Jeep SUV I purchased for my son on [xxx], from maxon Buick GMC located in union, new jersey. The vehicle was purchased for over $30,000, and within the first day of driving, my son began experiencing what is commonly referred to as the "death wobble. " this violent shaking occurs unexpectedly while driving and has been happening every day since the vehicle was purchased. After doing some research, we learned that the “death wobble” is a known issue with certain Jeep models, and the symptoms are consistent with what my son has experienced. It is extremely frightening and dangerous, and I am deeply concerned for his safety and the safety of others on the road. I do not understand how a dealership is allowed to sell a vehicle in this condition. Selling a vehicle with such a potentially deadly defect is both irresponsible and unethical. This issue must be investigated and addressed immediately to prevent further risk to drivers and passengers. Please consider this an urgent request to look into this matter. I would appreciate confirmation of this complaint and any information on what steps will be taken to hold the dealership and manufacturer accountable. I have video while it's happening but unable to upload for some reason thank you for your time and attention to this critical safety issue. Sincerely, [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

17 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/07/2025

I received a safety warning about my air bags specifically via my Jeep app on my iphone about 1 1/2 hours after I had been rear-ended in a motor vehicle accident. The rear-end impact pushed me into a van in front of me. The safety notice notified me to take my 2022 Jeep in to have the air bags checked. There were no prior warnings. I am concerned as to whether or not the air bags should have employed upon impact. My seatbelt did totally lock into place after impact, but the air bags did not activate. My vehicle is currently still being repaired at a collision service, per the direction of my auto insurance carrier.

There is lack of information on how to file a complaint for a dealer not repairing a recall in a timely manner on this website. This complaint is in regards to the safety recall on my Jeep 4xe- recall 95b/NHTSA 24v-720. I made an appointment for this recall and took it to franklin Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram in franklin TN. They have had my Jeep for 2 days working on this recall. The letter I received said this would take 2 hours. They refused to provide me with a loaner/rental car and instead shuttled me home and left me without a vehicle for 2 days now. This is unacceptable.

Failure Date: 01/09/2025

I was driving in the middle lane on i96 west when the dashboard lite up fully every light alerting me of every possible thing that needs attention known to man. This isn’t the first time this has happened but it is was the first time on the highway. I attempted to move the steering wheel which wasn’t working-I’m guessing the power steering wasn’t working, I slowly moved to the far right lane and managed to exit the freeway actually “‘manhandling” the steering wheel to make the vehicle turn in either direction. Needless to say I was beyond scared of what was gonna happen next. I made it to a grocery store parking lot and called for towing back to the dealer. This vehicle was just at the dealer the previous week for the dashboard lighting up in the same way but I didn’t drive it anywhere since I couldn’t turn the wheel that time either. The dealer told me it was a fluke and sent me on my way. This vehicle is two yrs old and has only been serviced by the dealer for oil changes and tire rotations. After doing some research, I’ve read that other owners of Jeep Wranglers have had similar problems going as far back as 2018! I can’t possibly be the only to report this issue. If I lost control of the vehicle due to power steering issues and sensor/computer failures what would happen to me? would I be dead? would I kill other people on the road? how would I ever be able to prove this is the vehicle and not me? this is an issue that needs to be looked at deeper. My vehicle is still at the dealership. It’s only two yrs old and has 40,000 miles. I need someone to look into this problem before something horrible happens to someone. Unfortunately my daughter also has a Jeep Wrangler and I hope she can stay calm if something like this happens to her on the freeway.

20 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2025

On [xxx] my 2022 Jeep Wrangler hybrid was parked in my carport. Around [xxx] I started smelling something burning so got up to check the house and then went to the garage to check our cars. On checking the Jeep I noticed that the inside of the cabin was filling with smoke. I immediately called 911 and as I was on the phone with them the Jeep spontaneously burst into flames on the inside. The fire department arrived shortly after. They began flooding the Jeep with water and had to drag it out of our car port. Once they had it away from the house the continued to flush it with water and also placed a fire retardant blanket over the top of it to contain the fire. It continued to burn for several more hours until a tow truck arrived to take it to a yard. The fire truck had to follow the tow as the car was still smoldering as they loaded it. According to the fire marshals' initial assessment he believed the fire was started from the Jeeps lithium ion battery. * it is believed to be the lithium ion battery. It has a recall and I had the recall scheduled for 1/9/2025 but it caught fire on [xxx]. The Jeep is with progressive my insurance company and could possibly be inspected at request. * luckily we caught it before it was fully engulfed. Jeep did emit noxious fumes while it was on fire and being put out. Our neighbor had to evacuate because of the fumes possibly entering her house. * it has been confirmed by progressive and they have placed Jeep on notice. * it was inspected by the ins CO. They are awaiting on the inspector from Jeep. * there were no warning or indications prior to this happening. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Failure Date: 11/16/2024

On [xxx] I bought a 2022 Jeep Wrangler 392 from ron tonkin Jeep in milwaukie, or. It was certified pre owned and still under full manufacturer warranty. I drove the car for one day then parked it at portland airport before flying to chicago. A week later while still out of town, I received a call from the parking lot manager that my car spontaneously caught on fire last night and violently burned also damaging 3 cars near it. The fire department came and put out the fire and said the fire was caused by “mechanical failure, malfunction”. Jeep has refused to cover this claim because they said the cause of the fire cannot be determined. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

23 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2024

On Nov 16, 2024 I was driving and turned a corner as soon as I did the engine light and another light came on with a message saying do not shift or turn off. I had it towed to capital Jeep and they said it was my main and aux battery, a week later which was yesterday 11-29-24 the same lights and message came on, I pulled into the dealership and they said it was the green bus connecter behind the glove box, then today 11-30-24 I was driving same lights and message again, however this time I could not go passed 5 miles an hour. So now it’s towed again and sitting at the dealership.

24 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/10/2024

I brought my Jeep in for the 95b recall this past December (12/17/24), it was fixed for about a week then problems with the electric system emerged and the vehicle would not run in electric mode. I also received messages saying that an oil change was required (despite having an oil change done in December), and that the battery needed to be charged for maintenance (despite the battery being fully charged the previous evening). I brought it back to dealer (2/3/25) to fix the issue. They said they fixed it and gave it back to me. A few days later the same problems reappeared so I brought it back on 2/22/25 and just received word that they cannot find a solution to the problems despite working with tech advisors from other dealerships and stellantis. In short, I have had the same issues with the vehicle since about November, they have attempted to fix it 3 times and now are telling me that they do not have a fix for the problems. Please help!.

25 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/04/2024

Recall #95b one of many since I purchased my vehicle. Cannot use it for what it was purchased for which was to use electric and save gas money. Now recall states not to plug in vehicle and that it can catch fire and explode at any time running or not. I am scared to death to drive this vehicle and have my child anywhere near it. And it is our only vehicle which costs me over $1000 a month payment I can barely afford. Its causing us extreme stress and anxiety. I have been trying for months to get rid of this vehicle which has dropped over 50% in the value.

26 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/28/2024

History since I leased this vehicle: 1. Charging cord froze to vehicle when parked at a charging station outside and would not detach until it thawed. 2. Car was recalled for a battery issue and was allegedly fixed. 3. Car later died. The battery was completely dead for no apparent reason. I had to have the vehicle towed to the dealer for the battery to be replaced. They were not able to explain why the battery died. 4. Just received another recall for a high voltage battery fire risk issue that they have no remedy for as of yet. We are advised not to charge the vehicle or park it near any structures or other vehicles! 5. While driving home from work, the Jeep suddenly stopped moving. The console where the shift gear is began to flash and I had to put my foot on the brake, put the car into park and then put it back into drive to get it to move again. When it went back into drive it lurched forward. Luckily no one was behind me at the time or they likely would have smashed into me or I could have caused an accident. According to online research it is another on-going problem, one article reads there are hundreds of complaints on the Jeep forums with no fix saying: when customers take their Jeeps in, the service advisors have trouble diagnosing the issue. And while Jeep has issued some recalls, the problems remain and the electric Jeeps continue to fail.

Failure Date: 10/25/2024

I am writing to file a complaint regarding the recent safety recall (NHTSA recall numbers: 24v-720 and 24e-080) affecting my Chrysler vehicle. The recall pertains to a potential fire risk associated with the high-voltage battery pack. While I appreciate Chrysler’s efforts to address this safety concern, I have serious reservations about the effectiveness of the proposed remedy. 1. Safety concerns: I am worried about the safety of my vehicle’s battery. The recall notice indicated that a battery pack may contain cells with separator damage that could lead to a vehicle fire. I find it concerning that the proposed remedy primarily involves a software update and inspection, rather than an immediate battery replacement, especially given the potential risks involved. 2. Request for action: I urge the NHTSA to investigate this matter further and consider whether the proposed remedy adequately addresses the safety risks posed by the high-voltage battery. I believe that consumers deserve clear information and effective solutions when it comes to potential safety defects in their vehicles. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response regarding the steps being taken to address this safety concern.

28 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2024

My 2022 Jeep has an open recall and not enough is being done to remedy the situation. I bought a “hybrid Jeep” to save on gas money and now I’m spending more money on gas than ever. I want compensation!.

29 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2024

We recently got the Jeep back from being serviced for a problem (p0e15-00) that seems to be a common issue with a part (hybrid/ev battery pack coolant heater) that breaks every 15-30k miles. Yay! ours was at just over 17k miles. Now, on top of all of this, I receive a notice for our fourth recall in 2 years, for a battery that could randomly catch fire and there is no fix known yet. The charger for the Jeep is literally right outside my children's bedrooms. If I want to charge my vehicle, I am potentially risking a fire right next to where my kids sleep. If I don't plug in, the whole point of us picking the plug-in hybrid is a total waste of our money. I also have to park next to an apartment building, let alone my other coworkers' vehicles when I go to work. I now feel like my vehicle is a ticking time bomb. I would love to be able to end my lease early to get out of this nightmare. At the very least is there an option for a loaner vehicle or rental reimbursement until this potentially extremely dangerous issue is repaired?.

30 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2024

I am filing a complaint regarding an unresolved safety recall (NHTSA campaign number: 24v720000) for my 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. The vehicle has experienced stalling and a significant loss of engine power while driving, creating a serious safety hazard. These issues were first noticed in October 2024 and the vehicle has become unsafe to drive as a result. I previously submitted a complaint to the NHTSA in October 2024, but the issue remains unresolved. Following the recall advisory, I brought my vehicle to an authorized dealership on November 26, 2024, where I was informed that no available fix exists for this recall issue, and the dealership could not provide a timeline for when a remedy would be available. The malfunction involves the high-voltage battery pack software, which is part of the recall remedy. However, this update has not been applied to my vehicle, and the ongoing performance degradation continues to put my safety at risk. The recall explicitly mentions the potential for fire and injury, which heightens my concern regarding the unresolved issue. Safety risk: the stalling and loss of power while driving creates an immediate danger to my safety and that of others on the road. The vehicle is no longer reliable or safe to drive under these conditions. Dealer confirmation: the problem has been confirmed by the dealership, but no remedy has been provided, and no repair timeline has been given. Symptoms: prior to the failure, no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms were present, and the issue emerged suddenly while driving. Resolution requested: I request an investigation into Chrysler’s failure to resolve this recall in a timely manner. I urge the NHTSA to take corrective action to ensure that the necessary repairs are made promptly to avoid further risk to my safety and the safety of others.

I own a 2022 Jeep Wrangler rubicon 4xe, I purchased the vehicle new on [xxx] (purchased in TN, registered in va). Since owning the vehicle it has been in the shop 9 times, most recently in the shop because it was completely dead and they found out the battery was leaking acid, this is the same battery they had just replaced a year earlier. It has lost all power and shut off several times, Jeep continues to say there is no issue. The loss of power is concerning because it happens when driving on busy roadways. I filed 2 lemon claims with them, both times offered $2800 for inconveniences and $3600 the last time. I have also been instructed to park the vehicle outside of my garage and told it might be a good idea to not charge it daily due to a fire hazard, when buying a hybrid, I paid extra in hopes to get better gas mileage when traveling to and from work, now I put my children's lives in jeopardy everyday while driving it! and most recently when driving across a bridge or rough roads (I live in the south so rough roads are an everyday thing), it has started shaking so badly that I have pulled off the road due to fear of the vehicle flipping or causing an accident. It is frustrating to pay for a vehicle that is a hazard and does not work properly. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Failure Date: 05/30/2024

E-torque battery issue. My e-torque battery was having issues for 20k miles that caused a “stored” code to appear saying the e-torque had a fault. I started bringing in the Wrangler at 35,500 miles still under bumper to bumper warranty but because it was a stored code there was no repair order issued. This continued until around 50k miles when the Jeep started shutting off at low speeds. The dealer took it in and Jeep corporate stated that because it was still a stored code they would not release the battery pack needed for the repair. The dealer fought the warranty department for 3 weeks holding on to my vehicle. They eventually returned the car to me un-repaired per Jeep corp instruction. The check engine light came on days after it was returned to me. No repair but documented at dealer. 12 days after the car was repaired it died again rolling to a stop light and then again in the same trip. The second time, it died in rush hour traffic, with a semi truck behind me. Thankfully I was traveling at about 20 miles an hour and the semi had several car lengths behind me because it shut off as though it was so dead it was sitting in my driveway. It did start back up when I placed it in park. I drove it to the dealer where they kept it for 2 more months fighting warranty to release the battery pack. I went through five Jeep cares case managers and had multiple “star cases” that were opened and closed without the dealership being made aware at times that they were closed. They finally approved the repair. I have had the vehicle returned to me and plan to sell it as soon as possible because I do not know when this next battery pack will fail.

35 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/22/2024

A vehicle cross my path required full application of braking, locking all 4 wheels. During this event, the automatic ignition shutoff (ais) was enabled. As a result of ais and the lack of abs, and, hence a 4 wheel lock-up, the ais shutoff the engine, causing loss of power steering and power brakes. The resulting vehicle behavior required immediate and severe steering wheel correction with substantial additional force to prevent a collision with the vehicle in my path. Had I not previously had driver safety training as well as significant high performace driving experience I likley would have collided with the other vehicle. My assertion is the combination of ais and the lack of abs resulting in 4 wheel lock may had led to a collision resulting in sever injury to the other driver.
