My Jeep develops a "death wobble" whenever the vehicle goes over a bridge junction or bump at highway speeds. I have taken it to the dealer on several occasions and they have been unable to pinpoint the issue,. When my husband personally witnessed the problem and went in to complain, the dealer replaced a rear shock absorber, but the problem persists. The Jeep shakes and vibrates violently and uncontrollably and the problem has become more frequent and more violent. I have to come to an almost complete stop to relieve the wobble/vibration, which is very dangerous on a highway! it happened twice today, Saturday, may 23, 2026, on the highway when I went over bridges at 65 - 70 mph. The issues has been persistent since the vehicle reached approx. 5000 miles. I feel unsafe driving my Jeep on the highway. I know that it has been a problem that was covered under an previous agreement/recall for Jeeps through 2020. Manufacturing year. However, since my Jeep is a 2023, I do not believe the extended warranty applies to my vehicle. I am a teacher and I can't afford to pay for repairs, which may run thousands of dollars. Also, I feel my vehicle is unsafe to drive on the highway, which precludes me from driving to my job on the highway. Please advise!.
I have had multiple issues and repairs completed including two recalls for the battery. Two repairs to the flapper in ac system and damper in front end replaced under 24000 miles. I have had two radios and amp replaced and now need another being it does the same as before and never works when I try to use usb and over heats my phone, which the dealership has been non compliant with warranty being they either state I can’t duplicate or do not produce full history reports. I have had three dealership make repairs in the last 2 years and it is now approaching 36000 and they are aware of the reoccurring issues. I have been instructed not to charge in or near a my home but that is why I bought the hybrid for the electric as well. They keep stating they have no loaners and I would be without my vehicle for over two days just for diagnostics. They have had the Jeep in the shop and stated the radio had turned itself on when Jeep was not on. There are definitely many electrical issues connecting these things and it is just being pushed off by stellantis. Now there looks to be a stress crack in front windshield I am taking to a windshield company as there are no visible rock chips just crack from bottom 1/4 way up and running.
The vehicles car suspension/steering are malfunctioning even after being replaced early 2025. Vehicle start shaking violently after going over overpasses and uneven roads to the point where steering control is lost. This is unsafe especially in busy highways.
Jeep has only 10k miles on it, was on highway and started to violently shake, went to side of road it stopped and then once driving started again. Death wobble.
Steering damper has failed with 45,000 miles on vehilce and causing a dangerous shake on the highway affectionately konw as the "death wobble" among Jeep owners. This was recalled in eariler models of my vehicle (2018-2021 4xe) but is occruing the same in my 20234xe. This part should have not worn out already and is causing a dangerous situation.
I am filing this complaint regarding the serious safety hazard associated with the fire-risk recall on my 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. The official manufacturer recall letter states: “the high-voltage battery may become damaged under normal operation which could lead to a vehicle fire. ” the recall instructions also direct me fully discharge the high-voltage battery not charge the vehicle park the vehicle away from all structures because of the fire risk this indicates that the vehicle may spontaneously catch fire even when driven or stored as intended. I currently cannot safely store or use this vehicle at my residence. I am a 100% permanently and totally disabled marine corps veteran with ptsd, and this fire hazard and the required parking instructions significantly worsen my medical condition. There is no available remedy or repair at this time. I am requesting that NHTSA document this hazard, investigate stellantis’ handling of this recall, and ensure owner protection given the severity of the fire risk and lack of resolution.
I have several issues. 1. An independent auto shop noticed all 4 of my shocks were leaking when they did an oils change and tire rotation recently. I have had my other oil changes and rotations at the dealership prior to this and they never mentioned it. I’ve tried calling my dealership svc dept. About it 4 times now with no call backs. 2. The new tires that came with my Jeep from the factory only lasted about half their treadwear. I had to replace prematurely at 30,000 miles bc they were causing a “deathwobble” on my Jeep at speeds of 60-70mph and they were also messing with my alignment which I paid the dealer to try to fix but they’ll couldn’t bc it turns out it was the tires the whole time but they’ll couldn’t bc couldn’t figure this out. The independent tire shop figured it out. 3. This is the most worrisome they just sent me another recall about the high voltage battery pack being dangerous and poasibly catching fire. It says not to charge it or park it near structures. This is the 2nd or 3rd recall of this sort and it’s not allowing me to use the electric features on my vehicle which I paid extra for when I bought it and I pay yearly for with insurance and taxes. . I need compensation or a vehicle exchange or a buyback so that I can use my vehicle as it is intended to be used. This is a clear violation of that. Please help me!.
Real bad death wobble in a 2023 Jeep Wrangler with only 12,000 miles on it never been off road and no modifications a stock sport s at 65 mph on I 95 going over a slight overpass with no potholes Jeep shook so bad I thought iy was going to come apart and would not stop violently shaking until I braked to 30 mph almost causing a major wreak on busy I 95 this is happening to many new Jeep owners Jeeps answer is to replace the steering stabizer but the real answer according to mechanics is replacing the inferior suspension parts wich is expensive Jeep knows this is a temporary fix and knows its a major problem someone will probably have to die before Jeep is forced to fix this dangerous diesign /parts problem.

While driving at highway speeds 40 and over vehicle may begin to experience “death wobble” where deceleration and sudden stopping is required. It becomes very hard to control vehicle and loss of control may be possible. Vehicle violently shakes from front end after minor bump or skip in roadway. Although reporting for first time now has happened several times since I have owned the vehicle.
My Jeep has 43,213 miles and my mechanic who I have used for over 30 years showed me that all 4 shocks are severely leaking and need replacing. I’m am 69 and only use this Jeep on the highway and zero off roading. This is most unusual for all 4 shocks to need replacing at such low miles.
Statement of facts 1. I am the registered owner of a 2023 Jeep Wrangler rubicon (VIN: [xxx]), purchased for approximately $75,000 usd, inclusive of all taxes and registration, in cash. 2. I have been driving different cars for over 25 years and have owned multiple vehicles. This Jeep Wrangler is the most expensive vehicle I have ever owned, and the only one to cause severe safety issues for me and my family. 3. I primarily drive this vehicle on weekends with my two young children (ages [xxx] and [xxx]) seated in the rear seats. The persistent and unresolved mechanical issues with this vehicle have directly jeopardized our physical safety and my livelihood( I couldn’t go to work during many weeks) 4. There are new problems related to manufacturing defects that keep poping up every month since last 6 months while the car is only used for 25k and under basic warranty (example on top of serious death wobble issue , there are incidents of coolant issues, 95b safety recall, battery pack issues- refer below photos, in addition I have phone messages and videos of death wobble as evidence) issues and service history 4. At approximately 5,000 miles of use, the vehicle began exhibiting significant technical issues. 5. The first major defect was related to the battery pack, which rendered the vehicle inoperable. The dealership held the vehicle for approximately two months in 2023 to address this issue. 6. While on a trip from texas to arizona on the interstate highway system I was passing a semi-truck and my front wheels and steering wheel experienced a very violent vibration. The vibration would not stop until I slowed from 75 mph to approximately 35 mph. Very dangerous at that speed, while passing, and moderate traffic. This happened to me again in south texas where I live on a state highway where I was shifting into third gear accelerating through about 50 mph with the exact same vibration until I slowed below 30 mph. We also have the same year 2023 Jeep gladiator and we experienced the exact same issue after hitting a small bump traveling at approximately 70 mph. Since then I have looked into the issue on the internet and it is abuzz with Jeep owners and claims of a "death wobble" in the steering system. It appears there was a previous lawsuit in which the manufacturer was not found at fault but this problem persists based on the internet traffic I've seen and the number of products being offered, by after market companies, to correct this issue. We have been experiencing a bouncing and shaking in the front end of our vehicle while driving at highway speeds. This happens when hitting the slightest bump or transitions from pavement to concrete. Last week while driving on the highway the shaking and bouncing was so violent that I can't believe I didn't lose control. I brought the vehicle to the dealer and for the second time they replaced more suspension items in the front end. After doing some research I found out that this has been a problem with these vehicles for quite some time and that it's known as the "death wobble". After what I experienced I can understand why. I called Jeep and spoke to multiple people in different departments and as they acknowledge the problem they don't seem to care how unsafe the issue is. I can't believe there haven't been any deaths related to this and I'm hoping you might investigate these issues further before that happens.
The vehicle violently shakes after hitting minor bumps on the road. The steering wheel shakes not allowing you to have control of the vehicle. The vehicle can hit another vehicle or roll over due to this defect. This is a serious issue linked to poor quality parts and craftsmanship from the manufacturer. This can cause serious injury or death if not fixed immediately. This also causes the alignment to go out and pre-mature wear and tear on the tires. Mark my words someone will die from this failure.
At 40 mph and above and without warning, the front end of the vehicle will begin to bounce and shake from side to side causing the steering wheel to also shake, thus making it difficult for the driver to safely steer the vehicle. Once speed is reduced the shaking stops and normal control is regained. This issue has occurred multiple times and lasts anywhere from a few seconds to over a minute.
I began to notice some occasional loss of the steering with violent shakes - the death wobble - and once in the rain down a street with potholes which seemed to agitate the car further. I made an appointment to get the car checked and took it into the dealership. At that time, the tech mentioned that there was a recall out - which I had seen in the mail before - and asked if I wanted to get the update - I said yes. I believe the “check engine” was also blinking at that time so I also asked them to check that. After that, the vehicle was in the shop for 2 weeks without a clear diagnosis before the tech reached out and told me the car was “inoperable”. After communicating with the engineers and getting support from management, the car was still inoperable for over 2 months. At that point the tech asked me to contact Chrysler to file a claim to help him make sure it kept moving. (please note that I found this bizarre and I hope any reasonable person in a similar situation would as well. ??) a few days later, they told me the car was ready for me to pick up! I do not have a technical background and do not fully understand the issue, but the tech told me there was an issue with the vehicle sensor software which clashed with the recall and caused the vehicle to stop responding. As a fix, they uninstalled the sensor software and then reinstalled it after the recall update. Any future software update may cause the vehicle to crash and considering there is a third recall on this issue so far with out a proper fix, it is highly probably that there will be subsequent recalls/updates which will crash the car. At that time, I will have no recourse.

While traveling over a bridge driving at 50 mph with her hazards on in the right lane, she traveled over a road seam, and the vehicle went into a death wobble. The driver came to a complete stop. While her husband was driving, the front end shook violently, and he reduced his speed to 10 mph. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the steering damper needed to be replaced. The dealer informed her the parts were backordered. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 29,000.
On October 27th, my Jeep started shaking violently as I was driving on the highway. I brought the Jeep to the dealership, they test drove it, and the mechanic did not experience the shaking so I was told “that’s just what Jeeps do”. I then researched Jeep shaking and found the death wobble is a common problem among Jeeps and there are several ways to fix it. I took my Jeep back to the dealership, they once again test drove it and could not replicate the wobble. They said I could leave it there and they could continue to drive it daily to find the problem, as they cannot fix it if the mechanic cannot experience the wobble. I don’t have another vehicle to drive and cannot leave my vehicle there indefinitely. They did an alignment, and sent me on my way. The Jeep continues to violently wobble, today forcing me to pull off on the side of the highway. This is not safe, I feel terrified to drive it over 60 mph, and feel this is totally unacceptable to be told “this is what Jeeps do” and “this is just your vehicle”. I expect to feel safe in a $40,000 car I bought brand new last year.

My 2023 Jeep Wrangler is experiencing the "death wobble" while driving down the highway or on uneven paved roads. During the "death wobble", the steering wheel starts shaking uncontrollably. I have to decelerated to regained control of the vehicle, at which point the shaking of the steering wheel stops. This has become a persistent failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed as having defective tires from bridgestone. The dealership is requesting the consumer buy new tires to remediated the death wobble and defective tires from bridgestone.
When driving the vehicle at 60mph or faster, the steering wheel will begin to shake uncontrollably and continue to rattle for approximately 30 seconds until the vehicle is reduced speed to about 40mph or less. If I resume speed again, the shaking vibrations will continue to happen repeatedly. This puts my safety at risk when I attempt to drive on the freeway and approach the speed limit and causes me to reduce my speed to an unsafe speed far lower than the flow of traffic on the freeway. In addition, while the vehicle is vibrating/shaking, there is a lack of control of the vehicle and puts the driver in a panic state, because it feels like a flat/blown tire at such a high speed. The vehicle was taken into the dealership and they would not check the problem until I paid for an alignment maintenance fee of over $300. Therefore, I proceeded with the costs and they discovered some parts that need to be replaced by the factory. In spite of this, the dealership is holding me responsible for the process of elimination charges because the extended warranty xf1 and recall v41 are not attached to my VIN on this vehicle. However, these recalls are attached to vehicles made on or before November 2020 and my vehicle was built November 2022. I am aware of this issue, because my prior Jeep Wrangler vehicle was a 2019 and I experienced the same safety issues, and I brought it in and found out about the recall issued and it was repaired for my safety. However, the same safety issues are occurring in my 2023 Jeep Wrangler with only 25,000 miles on it, but no recalls are attached to my VIN to assist with the problem. Each time the vehicle malfunctions there is no warning lamps, no messages or any other symptoms of the problem prior to failure. The incident first started to appear around 2/2/2024 & continued to happen more frequently with time. I scheduled the repair at the Jeep dealership on 2/27/2024 and they currently still have my vehicle for this malfunction.
Jeep death wobble- car shakes violently at freeway speeds (anything over 45 mph) if even small bumps or rain ruts in road. Car is stock parts (no modifications) and has not been used off-road. First occurred at less than 18k miles- repair made by Jeep dealer, but issue returned within 10k miles. 2nd attempt at repair was blamed by dealer on tires off-balance, however issue has continued to occur. 3rd attempt was made to meet with service manager at dealership, however he failed to show for meeting and then did not return calls.
Our Jeep is a leased vehicle with approx 5,200 miles. While riding on the highway going approx 65 mph the vehicle began to death wobble causing the driver to nearly lose control of the car. We were on a 4 lane interstate that could have resulted in a severe accident had the driver actually lost control. With so few miles on the vehicle there is no reason other than a manufacturing defect that would explain how this vehicle could already be experiencing death wobble, a known issue with Jeeps.
At speeds between 55-65 mph, inconsistently the car will shake so violently I have to nearly stop the car to make cease shaking. The vehicle shakes so badly other drivers slow down to avoid being around. It feels as though it’s going to fall apart. I’ve taken the car 4 times now for repair and the dealership has had the car for 32 consecutive days with no solution.
When operating the vehicle about ~50mph, and if you drive over a pothole, or bump in the road, the frontend of the vehicle wobble/vibrate uncontrollably. The only solution (I have found) is to lower the speed (which is obviously a problem on the freeway). I purchased the vehicle new from the dealer, have not made any modifications, and they (the dealer) is telling me the tires are the source of the "death wobble" problem. I have spoken to other Jeep owners that have had the same issue and it had nothing to do with the tires. The solution from the dealers perspective is "replace all four tires" (they claim its the firestone brand of tires) at my expense.
Driving on interstate @ 65 mph, in very heavy traffic, experienced death wobble after going over a road seam bump, making it hard to control the vehicle. Slowed down to 50 and it stopped. I was terrified I was going to crash. It happened several more times during the same trip, whenever over 55 mph. Brought to dealer on 11/27/2023. Dealer says stellantis is aware of the issue -- and has been sued for it in the past -- but it's been 4 months and stellantis has not yet provided the replacement part. This is a brand new vehicle with about 4,000 miles on it, and the death wobble continues to occur whenever over 55 mph. Infuriating that stellantis is aware of this issue yet is still installing malfunctioning parts.

I am the original owner of a 2023 Jeep Wrangler sport with approximately 16,240 miles. The vehicle is completely unmodified. I am reporting a serious safety defect involving the steering and suspension system. When driving at highway speeds (50 mph and above), the vehicle experiences a violent front?end oscillation whenever it encounters a bump, uneven pavement, or bridge expansion joints. The steering wheel rapidly shakes left to right, and the entire vehicle shudders for 5 to 10 seconds. The oscillation does not stop until I slow the vehicle down to below 45 mph. This issue is reproducible and occurs frequently on rough or uneven road surfaces at highway speeds. During these events, I temporarily lose the ability to maintain proper steering control, creating a dangerous situation for myself, my passengers, and other drivers. This condition is commonly referred to as “death wobble,” and it makes the vehicle unsafe to operate. Given the severity of this defect and the safety risk it poses, I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue and that Jeep/stellantis address the defect under the new vehicle limited warranty (3?year/36,000?mile basic warranty). The front?end suspension components—including the track bar, steering damper, ball joints, and related parts—should be inspected and repaired as necessary to eliminate this hazardous oscillation.
Violent shaking of the front end (wheels/tires and steering wheel) after hitting a bump in the road. The “death wobble” occurred twice since I bought the vehicle new from a dealership about a year ago. The miles are low (2,000) as the Jeep is my extra vehicle, and no modifications have been done. The first time it happened I was going about 55 mph, and the second time about 65 mph. After the second incident I reviewed the internet and saw the death wobble class action suit that does not cover post-2020 Wranglers. Both incidents occurred during the day on dry and well maintained roads. I made a dealership appointment after the second occurrence, but can’t get in until 1/9/2024. Loss of steering/control in traffic makes this a serious issue.

After hitting a bump driving normal highway speeds 45+ mph the car begins to shake and vibrate vigorously. It feels like you will lose control of the vehicle and the only way to stop these vibrations is to slow down to 30-40mph. Stopping like this on the freeway seems extremly unsafe when traffic is flowing. The dealership referred to this issue as the "Jeep death wobble" and it is apparently a known issue. The vehicle has been into the shop already twice and they have failed to correct the issue. The first time they replaced the stabilizer and the second time they were unable to replicate the issue to the traffic in the area and being not able to drive at highway speeds. Stellantis/fca have requested I continue to to drive this vehicle even with these issues saying this is not a safety issue.
Two days into driving my brand-new Jeep I experienced the death wobble and lost control of my steering wheel on the freeway. I took it to the dealer they replaced the damper. But it happened again where I didn't have control but it didn't shake I just had to get off the freeway once I it stopped hydroplaning without it raining. The steering wheel is not straight and on different types of roads the car drifts and wanders. I am terrified of driving it on the freeway.

Our 2023 Jeep Wrangler has the "death wobble" which causes the front end of the vehicle to violently shake and the steeering wheel to almost cause loss of control. Jeep knows about this defect, as does the NHTSA. Jeep need to be mandated to do a recall and fix the issue.
