1 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2023 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 11/30/2025

We are contacting you today because our 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe started to exhibit some concerning issues: on a fully charged battery, our Jeep started normally in hybrid mode. After 10-15 miles (down to 51% battery capacity), power switched to internal combustion engine (engine) after parking, upon restart and re-restart, various malfunctions appeared on dashboard: - straight to engine power (engine noise), not on electric power (even when still in hybrid mode) - "service charging system” alert - engine light on - plug light on - battery light on - "blind spot service unavailable, service required” - on right dial showing “power" and “charge", abnormal (?) temporary swing down towards “charge" - ac not working (no warning, no alert) - battery still showing 51% after parking, when attempting to charge: - charging lights start off normally but stop (?) after 30 seconds, and - “service charging system” flashes back on - engine light on, plug light on, etc - ac still not working -the Jeep is now not accelerating normally and seems to lack power -breaking is unresponsive or lagging please note, our vehicle was recalled under 95b and was serviced by kendall Jeep on July 25, 2025 for 1895b182 reprogram bpcm and complete drive cycle reoutine. We were told the software update was successful. We have made an appointment with kendall Jeep to drop our Jeep off on December 8, 2025. We are concerned that our vehicle is unsafe to drive and that mopar has not provided a fix for this continuing issue. We included a pic of our dashboard and warnings.

2 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 02/21/2025

I have a 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe rubicon. My vehicle has been recalled three times for updates. I have had one recall done for the defroster due to the faulty software that can cause reduced visibility increasing a risk of a crash. The second one was for risk of fire from a faulty high voltage battery driving or parked. The third recall call was to update software for the high voltage battery in which doing so caused my vehicle not to fully charge and to lose power when driving and not be able to start for hours at a time. I now have brought my vehicle back to the Jeep service center for a diagnostic test and it was found that the high voltage battery pack is faulty in which Jeep has said they will put a new battery in once approved from Chrysler. Jeep has not been able to be able to fix the problem with hybrid battery packs possibly catching on fire or exploding and the new one I'd be getting would risk the same problems possibly injuring or killing myself or any passengers I might have in the vehicle. Jeep is not able to get to the root of the cause of why these high volt battery can go on fire even when they are not in use causing possible property damage to my home or neighbors. I am told in the recall to park my vehicle away from properties and other cars which is impossible to do. I hope you take this serious matter into consideration that Jeep corporation must find a solution for this nationwide problem and for people on the road.

3 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2022 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/09/2025

I was driving in the middle lane on i96 west when the dashboard lite up fully every light alerting me of every possible thing that needs attention known to man. This isn’t the first time this has happened but it is was the first time on the highway. I attempted to move the steering wheel which wasn’t working-I’m guessing the power steering wasn’t working, I slowly moved to the far right lane and managed to exit the freeway actually “‘manhandling” the steering wheel to make the vehicle turn in either direction. Needless to say I was beyond scared of what was gonna happen next. I made it to a grocery store parking lot and called for towing back to the dealer. This vehicle was just at the dealer the previous week for the dashboard lighting up in the same way but I didn’t drive it anywhere since I couldn’t turn the wheel that time either. The dealer told me it was a fluke and sent me on my way. This vehicle is two yrs old and has only been serviced by the dealer for oil changes and tire rotations. After doing some research, I’ve read that other owners of Jeep Wranglers have had similar problems going as far back as 2018! I can’t possibly be the only to report this issue. If I lost control of the vehicle due to power steering issues and sensor/computer failures what would happen to me? would I be dead? would I kill other people on the road? how would I ever be able to prove this is the vehicle and not me? this is an issue that needs to be looked at deeper. My vehicle is still at the dealership. It’s only two yrs old and has 40,000 miles. I need someone to look into this problem before something horrible happens to someone. Unfortunately my daughter also has a Jeep Wrangler and I hope she can stay calm if something like this happens to her on the freeway.

4 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/01/2024

Hi the two major issues that need to reported. 1. The vehicle would just shut down while driving at highway speeds. It would have trouble restarting and you would have to cost to the shoulder. This issue was random, we took it to the dealership and they drove it for a week until it left them on the side of the road. They kept it for just over a month and a star case had to be opened. 2. 2nd issue, the vehicle would shutter when accelerating and would shutter when braking. Extremely dangerous when trying to drive it back to the dealership. It had something to do with the vehicle not knowing if it wanted to be in electric or gas. This also caused the ac to stop working and the blind spot system not to work . This time they had it for just over a month to change the main battery. Both case the vehicle was unsafe to be on the road and could have led to a major accident.

5 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 01/27/2024

The vehicle starts flashing the “d” the vehicle then completely stops. All the lights in the dashboard turn on and it asks to shift to park then the shaft can’t be move. The vehicle turns on, but the shaft can’t be shifted. This has happened to us twice in the middle of a texas highway and we unfortunately can’t even put it on park to push it out of harms way.

6 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/15/2023

Recurring issue with my Jeep where seemingly every light on the dash, as well as the blind spot detectors, illuminates. The lights are accompanies by warning messages that indicate that electronic stability control and parking sense are unavailable. Abs lights, traction control, stability control, the brake light, and prompts to service 4wd are present. The impact varies based on whether or not the car is in motion. When it is not, as in the case of a cold start, the transmission is locked in park. When the car is in motion, power steering intermittently goes out. If you pull over and put the vehicle in park while the lights are illuminated (I. E. If they don't clear), the car will get stuck in park until the lights clear. I have had the vehicle towed to the Jeep dealership in natick, MA twice and, while they've charged me nothing, they've been unable to help due to the issue clearing and a lack of persistent diagnostic logs. Aside from the inconvenience, the sudden loss of power steering presents a safety issue. This has been going on for months, though the safety concern with steering only presented yesterday.

7 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/01/2023

The sensors, in particular the blind spot warning, randomly light up and stay on until the vehicle is turned off. Radio and navigation system randomly shuts off, and check engine light goes on and off randomly. While driving at night, my entire dash flashed a red warning that there was no oil in the vehicle. I immediately pulled over at a gas station. It was dark, I couldn’t see, and it was 2am in a town I was unfamiliar with. I added 1 quart of oil ( I couldn’t really see the dipstick). The warning light went off, and the check engine light came on. I went 30 minutes to my destination and had the car towed to the dealership the next day. They said it was an O2 sensor, and that there was too much oil in the vehicle so they drained it and did an oil change. I picked it up, drove less than 5 miles, and the check engine light came back on. I immediately returned to the dealership. They had it for several days before telling me that I had to replace the catalytic converters (2 of them) because I had overfilled the oil. They deemed it my fault. Since then the sensor problems continued, and the check engine light would randomly go on and off. Now it’s at the dealership again because it was leaking oil after an oil change. The dealership, and inspector from my extended warranty are saying that it has a blown engine because there was too little oil (in spite of no sensor going off warning that the oil was low). Extended warranty inspector wants me to authorize a complete engine tear down for further inspection ($7000) and the dealership says I should just replace the engine ($11,000).

8 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 06/29/2023

Earlier this year vehicle would sometimes do the following, not at start up but when driving; wipers on by themselves & driver can't shut off, turn signals inop, both sides blind spot warning continously on alerting driver every time a vehicle on either side is passed or passes vehicle, anywhere from three to five dash warning lights illuminated. Took to dealer in April 2023 & diagnosed a bad can bus connector. Replaced connector (approx $700). Seemed to be the fix until it started again June 2023. This time all the above issues started up again including loss of power steering. I was on i70 at highway speeds in rush hour traffic and it was very dangerous. Returned to dealer yesterday 6/29/23 immediately following loss of power steering while vehicle was displaying faults & they read codes. They are booked for 2 weeks so I'm scheduled to drop it off 7/10/2023. Dealer has been fine to work with and willing to help. My chief complaint is I have found numerous others that this is happening to (internet Wrangler jl forum) & I feel like car mfg knows about this and is not doing anything about it.

9 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 04/10/2023

2018 Jeep Wrangler (jl) sahara safety features all disable with this issue: power steering (this could happen on the highway) stability (stc), antilock braking, blind spot, etc. While driving their appears to be an electrical short. The steering wheel locks up and all lights on dashboard come on. Several error messages "auto park disabled", "speed control messaging unavailable", "service antilock brake system", "service transmission continue in drive. Do not shift or turn off engine" - to name a few. Dealers turn me way with simple computer reboot solutions only for issue to reoccur. Issue presents itself intermittently. Dealer has regularly turned me away for being unable to replicate in non driving conditions.

10 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 08/08/2022

I was driving down the freeway, came upon traffic which caused me to come to a stop. When the traffic cleared and I put my foot on the gas, the Jeep refused to go forward and stalled out. I had just enough power to get to a safe area on the side of the freeway. My Jeep flashed the d on the gear shifter and I got a notification to put the car in "park. " on the control panel screen it showed "check charging system" and "check transmission. " it also showed a message showing blind spot alert was disabled and the battery light. I had nearly a full tank of gas when this happened and at least 34% of electric left to drive on electric mode when this occurred. My uconnect app showed the message "charging fault error has occurred" when this happened on the freeway.

12 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 07/04/2022

The power steering went out while driving, check engine light came on, abs service, service shifter, start/stop unavailable, service 4wd, auto park disabled, blind spot alert, electronic stability control service, parking sense off. I could not shift out of park. Many people are having this problem with their 2018 Wrangler jl and jlu and later models. All you have to do is google this or go to youtube to see. It may be a faulty ecu. In any case, this is a problem and a safety hazard.

13 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 06/10/2022

Service shifter comes on and can’t go into. While driving it’ll notify again and lock my steering making every hard to turn. Having to wait 10-30 mins just for to reset and get into gear then coming back on days later.

14 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 06/03/2022

While driving at low speed in heavy rain vehicle lost power steering, engine service light, anti lock brake failure, skid control. Had to remove vehicle from roadway and restart engine, which corrected steering failure. Engine service light remained on. Vehicle is garaged. After being in garage for 24hrs engine service went out. Contacted dealer and was given appointment. Recommended not drive vehicle until service. Vehicle has 18,000 miles on it. Was told by dealer that battery failed which is tired into the crawl feature of the of the rubicon 2. 0 liter engine with crawl electric motor. Also told that there were many service bulletins.

15 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 02/01/2021

*radio, navigation / all sound loss (intermittently) *radio freezes as well as display (intermittently) *blind spot warning - beeps at inappropriate times for example when 2 lanes turn left it beeps making you think you are going to hit someone *back-up camera - freezes on screen and/or turns black *climate control - does not remain on the setting you put it on *bluetooth - randomly begins to play something when it should not *vehicle is turned off, door closed and locked, but radio will remain on and continue to play in vehicle. All of these things cause immense distraction and pose great danger to a driver as well as other drivers on the road. This vehicle had a little over 4,000 miles on it when I purchased it. Purchased Dec 2020 and uconnect replaced by dealer early 2021. The same issues are occurring with the replacement system. Took Jeep in today, on 10/4/2021 and they say they have ordered another uconnect system however, I doubt it will fix these issues. Very disappointed in this vehicle for it to be such an expensive purchase.

16 Blind Spot Detection problem of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Failure Date: 02/01/2020

1. Electrical system: instrument cluster/panel. An instrument panel that fails to display critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, can increase the risk of a crash. My VIN said there is no recall for this and my vehicle has this problem. 2. Blind spot warning becomes disabled and errors out periodically even when there are no issues with sensors and sensors are cleaned. When error occurs, the blind spot warning lights remain active even when there are no objects in the blind spot.
