Engineer's analysis: rear sway bar end linkage is designed to rotate during a (leaning outward) pitched road cornering and the resulting torsional forces on the frame. Both rear shock absorbers interfere with the travel of the sway bar end linkage during their designed rotational dynamic range. This interference of rotation destroys the shock absorber by repetitive striking and inhibits full functional rotation of the sway bar and end linkage. A mechanic (jig-saw auto; carson city, nevada 06/24/2021) replaced damaged shocks hoping to fix the problem; but, it did not. When another mechanic (les schwab north carson city, nv 06/30/2021) put the kia car on a lift, and discovered the problem a quote was given for a repair of the new shocks which were now damaged. When, by chance, a licensed engineer (yours truly) examined the area, the design flaw was discovered. It began with squeaky noise steering it ended with steering completely locked up undrivable. Machanic said he saw that alot in that year model. Replaced the steering pump worked ok for 6 months or so & the same thing. Had to tow it. Machanic said needed to replace the entire rank & pinion & that it may or may not correct the problem . He did some kind of adjustment charged me $250 & I was able to steer. 6 months down the road its doing the same thing esp light comes on a draging noise& troubles steering. I notice it it more maneuvering to park in a space. . .

Tl the contact owns a 2005 kia Amanti. While turning the vehicle, an abnormal noise was heard under the vehicle and it failed to operate. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the center piece of the front axle fractured. The vehicle was repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 104,000.

Just 2days ago my car started jerking real bad and also my transmission felt like it was stalling and the car was loosing acceleration power. Then after a short hesitation the vehicle,while backing in the driveway accelerated and was hard to stop. Today I noticed a small tremble in the transmission and my car almost went in traffic if I had'nt put the vehicle in neutral and applied force to the brakes,my vehicle was in motion on both incidents,I'm not afraid of my vehicle, but I don't want to cause or be in an accident.

Drivers' mirror adjustment/memory setting: the drivers' mirror will start clicking/moving,when I hit the remote. When the mirrors tilt down after put in reverse,the driver's mirror will not return back to the memory setting,which has to be reset everytime,in order to properly use mirrors. I have turned off the memory for the mirrors,but the mirror continues to move.

The car while driving turns off and later it will run but won't accelerate.

On or about September 26, 2004, purchased a 2004 kia Amanti. Since that time, the vehicle has undergone a multitude of problems, many of which kia has been unable to fix. Since its purchase, the vehicle has exhibited air conditioning problems, electrical circuit problems, battery problems, water leaks, recurring engine light problems and, most recently, shaking and lurching issues which have rendered the vehicle unsafe to operate. Although some of these issues were rectified, it appears that the vehicle continues to exhibit additional problems one right after another. In fact, the rear brake light and windshield leak required six separate visits to ontario kia due to the fact that kia could not locate the source of the problem. Although the car is still relatively new, dr. Oh has already purchased a car battery, two brakes, and four new tires (excluding other repair costs not covered by warranty). Over the course of the past month, the air conditioning unit fails to operate satisfactorily. Over the course of the past several weeks, dr. Oh has continued to drive the vehicle notwithstanding the air conditioning problems and the continuous shaking and bouncing issues.

When merging into traffic and pressing the accelerator the vehicle just coasted. This occurred when have to give the car more than normal gas. The vehicle was taken tot he dealer for the fourth time for this problem. Since the problem could not be duplicated the dealer was unable to find or repair the problem. This did not happen at any certain speed. While the vehicle was in reverse it felt as if it were trying to accelerate on its own. This happened with the foot on the brake. The vehicle made a loud clunking noise when going over bumps. The dealer replaced the bushings and collars.
