The contact owns a 2011 kia Forte. The contact stated while driving 60 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle started to decelerate. The contact was able to park on the side of the road. The vehicle was not drivable. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact called the local dealer fred beans kia of langhorne (1801 Lincoln hwy, langhorne, PA 19047, (267)436-4961) and made the dealer aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired yet. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 188,000.
Upon entering a highway, a knock occurred and as rpm dropped the knocking subsided. Next day and check engine light turned on and while while in motion on a city street, vehicle stalled and rpm drop to zero. Car would not turn on an engine would not turn over. Mechanic stated that the engine "locked up".
