The contact stated that one day while looking to change the oil on his vehicle he noticed that the latch of the hood would not function, nor allow the contact to open the hood of their vehicle. The contact proceeded to take their vehicle to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed, the contact was advised that the hood release lever and the hood release cable were faulty and would need to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
